Our music teacher played this song in 6th grade in 1956 in Oak Park, Illinois. I thought then, and still think now that it is one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard.

Such a beautiful song! My sister's chorus group sang this in the 1960's and I always loved it. How wonderful to find it on RUclips! You both did a wonderful job singing it and the pianist also did a remarkable job playing it. Thank you for sharing!

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! I have for a long time been looking for a vocal version of this song on RUclips. Sixty years ago, I sang this song in out 8th grade chorus, and my heart melted every time we did it. It is a truly beautiful song, and you girls did a wonderful job with it. Thank you so very much.

I am 75 and this brought back fond memories. I soloed "In my Dear Green Cathedral" at 10 years of age back in 1948 at our 1st Methodist Church on Hudson Ave and Phillip St. in Albany NY.

We also sang it in 8th grade chorus. Circa 1955
I have always loved and had fond memories of it. Thank you. I have been trying to find it on RUclips vocally for several years.

You probably won't believe this but I was also in the 8th grade in Guam when we sang the 4-part version of The Green Cathedral. I love the song and always brought back good memories of my early childhood at my Junior High School. Thank you for uploading this classic. Augusto S. Delgado - Guam

I also want to thank you. It's been hard to find a recording of this on the web for some reason. Many of us grew up singing this beautiful song (to similar piano accompaniment) in summer camp, or church or girl scouts, etc.. We're talking the 1960s and '70s here, so ancient times (in your view). :-) What a gift to hear it again.

Thank you I just heard this song recently as a piano instrumental. The soloist read the lyrics before because they are important she rightly thought they needed to be heard, because she wasnt going to sing them. Good job.

I remember singing it in the 5th grade in1958. Must have had an impact if I'm looking it up so many years later. Beautiful!

"I know a green cathedral". A favorite song I learned in the 8th grade about 53 years ago. Soothing comforting music and lyrics. You just have to ignore the idiot blowing his nose behind the girls. These young ladies sing it beautifully.
