Our music teacher played this song in 6th grade in 1956 in Oak Park, Illinois. I thought then, and still think now that it is one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard.

I am 75 and this brought back fond memories. I soloed "In my Dear Green Cathedral" at 10 years of age back in 1948 at our 1st Methodist Church on Hudson Ave and Phillip St. in Albany NY.
We also sang it in 8th grade chorus. Circa 1955 I have always loved and had fond memories of it. Thank you. I have been trying to find it on RUclips vocally for several years.

Many of us grew up singing this beautiful song (to similar piano accompaniment) in summer camp, or church or girl scouts, etc.. We're talking the 1960s and '70s here, so ancient times (in your view). :-) What a gift to hear it again.
Thank you I just heard this song recently as a piano instrumental. The soloist read the lyrics before because they are important she rightly thought they needed to be heard, because she wasnt going to sing them. Good job.

"I know a green cathedral". A favorite song I learned in the 8th grade about 53 years ago. Soothing comforting music and lyrics. You just have to ignore the idiot blowing his nose behind the girls. These young ladies sing it beautifully.
