omg SAME I'm still mad over B&G translations like our fanbase translators took HOURS and some of them posted the lyrics a day after because is a song that wasn't easy to maintain the feeling from the original lyrics to english and other languages, some of then tried and worked so hard and not all of the translations are really accurate. it's so sad that RUclips channels just want to share quickly so they can get those views and money instead of really helping international fans to connect trough the music (not all of them tho, theres people who really put effort into the yt videos)

My favourite part about BTS' music (and lyrics) is that often it's probably made with one intention but it can have many different interpretations. And while this album is the quarantine album. Outside of the context most songs like LGO , blue &grey and telepathy can just be about the general feeling of life going on in hardship , feeling very low in life or being away from someone you love. But I love your interpretations of it too !

BTS shared a lot of the process of making this album through vlog. While coming up with the number of songs and what they should be about, I believe it was RM who mentioned he wanted to something about Telepathy: how even though we can't be together right now, BTS and ARMY understand each other and are connected by the long history of shared experiences. (BTS puts up a lot of behind the scenes vids, livesteams, and even their own variety show so fans can really get to know them very well.) So I think the lyrics "Even though we're far away now, our minds are the same. Even if you're not with me, even if I'm not with you, you know we're together" refers to that telepathy. They've definitely posted videos of being at the beach, or maybe it's like we're creating our own private island getaway by traveling through those past happy memories

I read somewhere that suga specifically wrote telepathy for ARMY because he felt like he doesn't express his thank you enough because he's mostly withdrawn and isn't as vocal like the other members when it comes to communicating like on Twitter, Weverse or Vlive. What BTS tends to do in their songs especially when it’s covering heavy emotions and thoughts they’re dealing with is they always try to/will end it on a hopeful positive note. Even with blue and grey..it’s just the translations for the video y’all watched wasn’t correct and therefore that message/feeling wasn’t related to you properly. And it’s the same for this whole album..they made dynamite the last song bc they wanted to end it on a good note “with fireworks” as they said so it’s not just all sadness all the time. So I’m glad you guys noticed that and the polarity of the album before the skit and after. They do a good job of saying these are things I went through/felt but I’m also doing my best to keep going and/or I’ve found a resolution and I’m working through it. If you guys end up getting to black swan, which I highly recommend, where they talk about their relationship with their work/art/craft..you’ll see that too. That’s why correct translations are also really important. Even if you don’t do it on your reaction vids, I highly recommend reading them before or after you’ve filmed. I just thought of this interpretation because this is the first and simplest idea that came out when I first listened to telepathy. I remember the line from the song that translates to "we all know this place was originally a desert". When I first listened to Sea, I visualized "sea" as not a literal sea, but the "sea of people", referring to lots of people in a concert like the ARMY to every BTS concert. These coloured coded lyrics are usu made by some people who aren't fluent in the languages (either Korean or English or neither) so sometimes parts of it come across as gibberish and don't make sense as all, and often times it doesn't even capture the cultural nuances. I saw some youtubers refer to another source for more accurate translated lyrics. Usually translated lyrics by BigHit label is decently accurate if they do translate for the song or MV.

My favourite part about BTS' music (and lyrics) is that often it's probably made with one intention but it can have many different interpretations. And while this album is the quarantine album. Outside of the context most songs like LGO , blue &grey and telepathy can just be about the general feeling of life going on in hardship , feeling very low in life or being away from someone you love. But I love your interpretations of it too !

This particular song is written and produced mainly by Suga. This song is actually one of the many songs saved in his old files in his computer. Suga kinda rejected this song bcz he thought it want that great but the members liked it so they decided to put it in this album

BTS shared a lot of the process of making this album through vlog. While coming up with the number of songs and what they should be about, I believe it was RM who mentioned he wanted to something about Telepathy: how even though we can't be together right now, BTS and ARMY understand each other and are connected by the long history of shared experiences. (BTS puts up a lot of behind the scenes vids, livesteams, and even their own variety show so fans can really get to know them very well.) So I think the lyrics "Even though we're far away now, our minds are the same. Even if you're not with me, even if I'm not with you, you know we're together" refers to that telepathy. They've definitely posted videos of being at the beach, or maybe it's like we're creating our own private island getaway by traveling through those past happy memories

I read somewhere that suga specifically wrote telepathy for ARMY because he felt like he doesn't express his thank you enough because he's mostly withdrawn and isn't as vocal like the other members when it comes to communicating like on Twitter, Weverse or Vlive. What BTS tends to do in their songs especially when it’s covering heavy emotions and thoughts they’re dealing with is they always try to/will end it on a hopeful positive note. Even with blue and grey..it’s just the translations for the video y’all watched wasn’t correct and therefore that message/feeling wasn’t related to you properly. And it’s the same for this whole album..they made dynamite the last song bc they wanted to end it on a good note “with fireworks” as they said so it’s not just all sadness all the time. So I’m glad you guys noticed that and the polarity of the album before the skit and after. They do a good job of saying these are things I went through/felt but I’m also doing my best to keep going and/or I’ve found a resolution and I’m working through it. If you guys end up getting to black swan, which I highly recommend, where they talk about their relationship with their work/art/craft..you’ll see that too. That’s why correct translations are also really important. Even if you don’t do it on your reaction vids, I highly recommend reading them before or after you’ve filmed. I know others have recommended to you already but if you look up doolsetbangtan lyric translations..she has it for all of their albums (solo work included) on her Wordpress website and she’s so great at giving you cultural context too & explaining some of the korean wordplay in their lyrics. ☺️

basically the meaning of BE is (BE) YOURSELF talk about how in our lives we have those moments of sadness, or missing someone, etc.skit is like a pause (it's special for fans) in turn it tells you to prepare for the following :the happiness at the end with dynamite "life is Like that dynamite" (dynamite has different positive and negative components) in conclusion life is not happiness or sadness, it is just live life

This whole BE album is basically all about corona. My own interpretation of this song is that because of the pandemic, they cannot go out to the beach to have a good time like they used to before. Like, they want to "telepath" to the beach or something
BTS explained during a press conference that this song is actually about meeting their fans army. Unfortunately the world tour they’d been preparing months for was canceled this year and these boys really live for touring. They truly love and enjoy their fans company, and as performers, it’s been really hard on them to record performances without an audience they’d been use to having.. They always said it’s armys who give them the energy to keep going both mentally and physically. In the song, they are basically saying they are the happiest when they meet us.
And the line about the “blue sea” in J-Hope’s verse, is in reference to the expression that their ocean becomes a desert during trying times. They have a song called “Sea” that talks about this concept of life constantly goes through a series of oceans and deserts. “Oceans” being symbolic of life’s happy/best moments, but during painful times it dries and becomes a desert.

I just thought of this interpretation because this is the first and simplest idea that came out when I first listened to telepathy. It's just my initial thought. 😅 But thank you for summing up the song for me. Btw, Sea is one of my fav bts track and one the most underrated. I remember the line from the song that translates to "we all know this place was originally a desert". When I first listened to Sea, I visualized "sea" as not a literal sea, but the "sea of people", referring to lots of people in a concert like the ARMY to every BTS concert. When they said that "this place was originally a desert", I think they're referring to their old times as BTS when only a small number of people attends their shows. Still, they didn't gave up and pour all their hearts out to their work until the "desert" or the empty concert arena becomes a "sea" where hundreds and thousands of people shows up to see them. Just sharing my thoughts because BTS songs are so meaningful. 🤧💜

These coloured coded lyrics are usu made by some people who aren't fluent in the languages (either Korean or English or neither) so sometimes parts of it come across as gibberish and don't make sense as all, and often times it doesn't even capture the cultural nuances. I saw some youtubers refer to another source for more accurate translated lyrics. Usually translated lyrics by BigHit label is decently accurate if they do translate for the song or MV.
