He is a example on how a Construction Business should run, been a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for 17 years and did not come across People like him too often
I literally watch one of his videos every morning with my cup of coffee. It's always going to be a good one when he has his Volvo out.. from swimming in the pond to rescues of other people's excavators that are burried in to the cab with mud. Great stuff
@@Tannz0rz honest question...I live in the UK, so I'm not up on what is American made and what isn't but, are there any totally American made Excavators and other heavy equipment used by other operators (I believe all of their machines are Volvo? Even here there are many different Volvo machines, lorries and of course vehicles, so I'm guessing they are top of the line, or near it?)? GB has been known over history to make many well made products, of every kind, but it would be hard pressed to find much of anything that is totally GB made now, considering the cost of manufacturing anything is considerably cheaper in foreign Countries...for obvious reasons...main 1 being wages paid to people abroad are much lower.
@@mikebridges7294 It is not a matter of parts sourcing, rather the fact that Volvo is owned by Geely. Purchasing a Volvo directly lines the pockets of Chinese shareholders.
Hard working is an understatement. One video I watched, he was up well before the sun came up to fuel and maintain all their equipment. He then went to a site and worked until lunch. For his lunch break, he went to another job to do stuff there. After "lunch", he returned to the site he started the day at. And then after work, he went to work at a side job. Dude is beyond good at what he does and I've watched his videos almost everyday for a long time.
I love to watch Chris's channel. I learn a lot from him and I am entertained at the sametime. I am glad he is getting some recognition for the time he puts in on RUclips.
Really like watching Chris do a very hard job and his humor is awesome and he's very informative. He needs to invest in a microphone so to hear him better. A couple videos all I heard was the air conditioner running and couldn't make out what he was saying. Still be watching him.
I've been watching (and a subscriber) of Chris' channel for maybe 2 years now. As a former operator in the early 90's, this was a time of my life I thoroughly enjoyed and made good money and valuable experience from said work. I've literally gone to the beginning and watched every single video and look forward to seeing new posts in my feed as he puts them up too! Great job Volvo, for recognizing Chris. He's a rare breed who obviously takes pride in his work and his equipment, both for work and his own personal. Talk about a great work ethic!

Hi I would just like to thank the guys at Volvo who were involved in sending Chris the cap and clamps for the rock truck Muffler. That was a real nice, unexpected surprise seeing the video he posted today. If I was ever in the market for construction equipment like this, I'd seriously look at your products. Just because it digs holes doesn't mean it has to be Cat yellow, just the same as it don't have to be JD green to plow a field. you guys are doing something really right for Chris and his uncle to run equipment from you, and to be thinking about replacing a machine with a newer one. Thanks again, Robert
Volvo your company should supply some new machinery for Chris`s company as you do for the " Gold Rush " people, Chris is a very hard working young man and would be a credit to Volvo and himself as he has proven . Please give this request serious consideration .
Steven Noel Couldn't agree more. Just from watching Chris's videos and high praise of Volvo machinery, I was persuaded to buy a brand new ECR88D. Now I'm pretty sure I can't be the only one who has spent money on something with a Volvo badge on it because of Chris.
Steven Noel I have nothing against this channel or this man. With that being said, there are probably hundreds, if not thousands of small independent contractors out there that are just as good at what they do as this man. Now if an equipment builder starts supplying each independent contractor based on their talent, pretty soon, these companies are going to be out of business. They depend on small business owners just like this man to keep them going. For example, let’s say Ford starts donating their heavy duty trucks to every contractor in America that was successful. How long is Ford going to be in business? Ford is in the business of selling trucks to contractors, not donating them. Volvo is in the business of selling equipment, not giving it away. Your suggestion is outrageous. I can’t believe you didn’t think this through.
@@thewidower1 The difference is that this man in a way promotes their machinery, and has a dedicated following that watches him daily. Yes, the other contractors probably promote the machinery, but they do not have chris's platform, so they don't touch to many people.
Robert9_ I can’t believe I have to explain this to you. Let’s use caterpillar for example, they have how many service trucks in the United States alone? Does Ford donate the truck to this company for exposure? Of course not. That would be corporate suicide. Just like Volvo donating equipment to this contractor or any other small company. That’s just not how business is done in spite of emotional pleas like yours. You think you are changing minds by attempting to change mine. In fact you are doing just the opposite. Corporate America is not interested in your opinion. They are also not interested in a RUclips channel. They are interested in profit. That comes from selling the product they manufacture. That’s the way this works. Not by giving things away.

I'm impressed to see such a old piece of equipment as Chris 210 running but I would be more interested to see what Chris could do with a new 220 or 250. It would be awesome if you guys have him a new one every couple years to prove how great your equipment is
I'm no pro operator by any means, but have figured out a lot on my own, but learned a LOT too by watching Chris. One thing I picked up on in this video was when he said to always dig over your idlers. When I bought my machine, the guy I bought it from told me to always dig over your sprockets (especially when on a slope) so that you didn't put stress on the grease pistons in the idlers by the machine wanting to slide down hill. His logic made sense I suppose, but Chris's is just as good or better, that you're putting a lot less stress on the bushings in your tracks by spreading that load over a larger contact area. Always something new to learn!
Tom Brueggen there are two different lines of thought here. For the most part digging over the idlers is the correct method but if you are on a slope you are advised, just like the salesman told you, to keep your sprockets on the downhill side. This prevents the tracks from jumping the sprocket. Always keep the sprocket on the downhill side if possible. There is no hard and fast rules. It’s just like digging off the side of your machine. That’s acceptable to under certain conditions. These are extremely flexible machines in that you can dig in virtually any position. There is no single expert on the subject and you would do well to listen to everyone and keep learning.
I've been following Chris for a month or so now, and find his still with the machines to be fun to watch. It really makes me want to play with big equipment.
I have watched your vids for a while now, and me knowing nothing about the operation of your equipment, you make it look so easy compared to some of the other guys with similar vids. I love to watch you take down trees.. keep up the good work....

Normally when you see some company using a youtuber for their product, you often get like .. 5 minutes of advertising, and half a minute of story about the youtuber. But not here! Heck, instead the machines did their talking by simply .. working ? Delightfully honest. Somewhere, there's a PR man dying, because of missed opportunities to slap the video with a gazillion logo's ! Meanwhile, operators just nod and agree that this is how work looks today, wet, muddy and with big machines. Seems real life got one in over the head of the showbiz industry, and the magic world of advertising. :)
Nice video Volvo. I follow Chris. I appreciate his skill set and work ethic. Not many young fellows nowadays have it. Hats off to him and for Volvo recognizing it.
Dunno why this got in my feed today, but I used to work for a bucket manufacturer and we were an OEM for many local machinery dealers and Volvo was always a pleasure to deal with... One quick e-mail to the customer service dept. and you got detailed information of what was required to design a particular attachment! No guessing, no being out in frozen mud in November measuring a machine to get the info you need!!
I thoroughly appreciate your videos. Even more so knowing your story with your grandfather and such! That is pretty touching. And I know that he would be very proud that you have continued his business and legacy. I too do same kinda work, Appreciate your videos, very good! Keep Diggin and stay safe!!
I bet Volvo got a kick out of the komatsu bulldozer breaking down on the day they came to film. Chris was my first subscription on YT and hes always been entertaining. Love watching the 210 being taking into the sloppiest pond sludge going along with his daily antics.
I love to watch Chris run that excavator! He's as smooth as silk! While he works, I watch and that's good enough for me since I can't do anything else! I especially like to watch the pond building! I've got a great grand son who is four years old and he's into it too! So,, " Let's Dig 18"!

I have watched a lot of his videos. Chris is a very skilled operator. Watching him apply his talent is simply amazing. I also agree that Volvo should give Chris and his Company some new equipment. He serves Volvo equipment with pride.
I enjoy all of letsdid18 videos and he is a skilled operator. I work at a DPW in Vermont and we have a variety of heavy equipment and I am one of a few mechanics. In my opinion my favorite is a Volvo L90E wheel loader, 2008 with just 5000 hours. It has needed just normal maintenance and service. The Volvo road tech has come to our shop for the first time in Dec. of 2016 for a ecm update. That is the best machine we have over all our Deere hoes, wheel loaders and motor graders. Hope to see more video's. Bill
Chris maintains all his equipment well beyond most owners. He likes his Volvo's but certainly maintains all his equipment amazingly. And is a awesome operator
Happened upon Chris’ videos just by chance. I like to pick out a few random videos to watch here and there, and started watching his pond-building vids. Since then I think I’ve watched them all. Best part about them? They’re all about what he’s doing...he doesn’t deviate into other topics (politics and so on). He just does his job and does a great job of explaining and teaching as he goes. Great stuff, man, great stuff. I’ve been an equipment mechanic for our city for 15 years now, started when I was 20, so I work on everything from police cars to landfill compactors - I prefer the police cars ;-). Our 2007 CAT 826G now has 19,000 hours on it and she’s getting tired - but maintenance & a good feel for how she runs are the key points to avoiding breakdowns.
Thanks Volvo for the great video. Chris, this video is a great representation of you, a highly talented man doing a superior job. Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed it
Hey Chris, I watched a video on Upstate Brush Control! That gentleman is the owner/ operator was clearing some trees with a Volvo 130 I believe that’s what he said, after a few minutes watching him operate that excavator! DROVE me insane brother, I couldn’t understand why he was even in the machine! Watching you operate just shows me that that gentleman really doesn’t know much about clearing trees with a excavator! He was actually beating that machine to hell as far as I could see, no smooth operating at all brother! You could show him a lot CHRIS! You’re one smooth operator for sure and you do the job without abusing your equipment brother! Anyway I don’t like putting down his operating skills too much but you’re 100% better than them! Great video..Awesome to see how he has received over 80 million views.I love how he is carrying on his grandfathers legacy.Chris is truly one of the best operators ive seen and ive learned alot myself from watching his vids
I have been watching his channel for quite a while, but the biggest and most important in any job, life, or at home is his work ethics and him being humble... much respect much respect son.
He has another Channel with his lover David it's called FarmLifeNC it's about there farm they own together.
@@walterwhitman2608 why does everybody care about his sexual orientation? Who cares if he's gay. At least he produces entertaining content unlike the people that are commenting on his gayness.
@@AK-47ISTHEWAY He likes to play in the mud so much he goes home and plays in his boyfriends mud after work. He can't get enough of playing in the mud. 😂😂😂
Enjoy Chris' channel and enjoyed watching this Volvo produced piece. Thanks Volvo and take care of Chris.
We had a choice when we rented a machine for a larger job a while back. Because of Chris I tossed volvos hat into the ring instead of cat. I couldn't have been more impressed with the machine
so cool to see that volvo has taken the day out of their day to come watch the master at work congrats chris. You dont know it but LetsDig is one person who has inspired me to pursue a career in heavy equipment. too bad times are tough in Alberta and finding work for a 20 year old with no experience is pretty tough. thanks for the great RUclips videos
This guy is great. Love watching his vids
I've been watching Chris's youtube channel since it began. Really awesome to get a little insight on him and his back story! He is one of the people that inspired me to get into construction, specifically grading and excavating, great video!
Thanks Volvo for recognizing Chris for his skills and loyalty to your product. He for one has changed my mindset on your equipment. Before watching his channel, I usually thought of other brands when I thought of heavy equipment. Now I think of Volvo and how he has made it all looks so darn easy to operate. I am sure it is more him than the equipment. Chris has a great work ethic and he has proven the quality of your work is greatly improved by the condition that you keep your equipment. Thanks again for showcasing his talents and providing many of us with some background on his getting into the business.
Amazing operator and a prime example of a professional. I would be proud to work alongside with you any day brother!! Keep on diggin!!
I've been a follower @letsdig18 Chris for 3 to 4 years now and he's a hell of a guy and bust's his ass to make a honest living. great job with the video.
I watch his videos because I enjoy seeing construction equipment work and seeing the end results
You should send him the exhaust cap for his articulated dumptruck,it would be good for you.
michaelovitch Volvo have sent him the part and hardware for free

A very well put together video without a lot of nonsense being injected. Guys like Chris certainly promote your brand name.
Chris is the man. Thanks for giving us a different look at his daily events.
You should be very proud of all you’ve accomplished. I’m in awe. Your a great guy.
This should be a tv show
Never seen an operator as good as Chris let’s dig 18 , he is perfection on any machine .
Love your shows. Learning a lot. Thanks for being so good and clean while you work. Just need to take Sundays off
Great video with LetsDig18!
Fantastic video. I have followed Chris since years ago, and after a while, decided I learned enough to buy my own backhoe. Quality work!
I just had to Bragg on your operating brother, couldn’t help it! lol overall your the best machine operator I’ve ever seen! Good luck brother! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Been watching Chris for like one day and stumbles across this video stand up guy!
One of my must check channels.... Thanks for your videos Chris.
I thoroughly appreciate your videos. Even more so knowing your story with your grandfather and such! That is pretty touching. And I know that he would be very proud that you have continued his business and legacy. I too do same kinda work, Appreciate your videos, very good! Keep Diggin and stay safe!!
I love to watch Chris's channel. I learn a lot from him
I bet Volvo got a kick out of the komatsu bulldozer breaking down on the day they came to film.
Chris was my first subscription on YT and hes always been entertaining. Love watching the 210 being taking into the sloppiest pond sludge going along with his daily antics.
Chris has one of my favorite channels. I really enjoy watching his videos. Volvo makes some nice equipment!
I love to watch Chris run that excavator! He's as smooth as silk! While he works, I watch and that's good enough for me since I can't do anything else! I especially like to watch the pond building! I've got a great grand son who is four years old and he's into it too! So,, " Let's Dig 18"!
I’m not sure why but watching this relaxes me. I sleep better after watching. LOL
Been subbed to him for like 5 months, very good youtuber.
Letsdig18 you're like a movie star now!
Kudos to Volvo. You guys really caught the essence of Chris.
Just went thru an excavator training class in the apprenticeship I am in. We used some of Chris's video for training. He is a great operator. Thank you for doing your videos and tips you give.
Always been a dream since I was young to be an equipment operator. Love watching his videos.
I really enjoy all of your videos and they’re really educational brother! I even told him about your videos, good job CHRIS! ✌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 KEEP ON DIGGING BROTHER!!
love to watch chris videos u learn alot about what he does for a living
Always glad when another "Letsdig18" video comes out!
Well, from what I've seen out of Chris(I call him "diggin man") he has learned his trade and the business very well. I crack his nuts all the time in my comments but it's all in fun. i hope he knows how impressed I am with him and his crew and what he is able to accomplish. I know he has a very good relationship with Volvo and it seems to be beneficial to both parties. I hope that Volvo will make some more of these videos with Chris. If I was a working man in his trade, I would be pouring over these videos all the time trying to learn all I could learn but I'm retired and they are just entertainment for me. Good luck and thanks for posting this great video😎
By far my favorite videos to watch on RUclips I would love to do his job keep up the great work
Chris is great to watch, he's good to his equipment and shares what he knows when he can, so great to see Volvo recognize this and work with him on this video. (i will join others and say you should send him an exhaust cap for his truck).
he is so young in this video. Been a long-time subscriber of this man. Great RUclipsr
