You need to do more videos with the “smaller” contractors like this. It’s more relatable than the giant companies. And showcases what you can do if you want to be in the biz but not work for one of those giant companies.
Working for a smaller company compared to working in a mine ,is there's more opportunities to do many different things. Let's say you like running a excavator...you can knock down trees , buildings, clear land ,lift structures like culvert boxes or beams for the steel workers... to digging retention ponds or ditches, the list is endless.
You get a chance to do everything, with not nearly as much support. But if you want to learn how to be really good, and a step above.. that is a great start if you can get in with a good group that cares about doing things better.@@Pea-bj2qv
As a retired construction/ heavy equipment operator, i wouldn't have wanted to do anything else. Working outdoors and getting in some good exercise and being payed to play with the big toys of my youth.
Years ago I welded Left and right seats to the fenders of my little 2600 ford so two of my kids could learn and share the experience with their dad, and yes they had to wear their seatbelts. Later they loved riding in the combine except the littlest one who fell asleep within minutes every time. Can you imagine how many people would pay serious cash money to drive a dozer just one time, even pay to just ride shotgun?
I worked for a company and took my ex girlfriends kids with me to the job on a Saturday when no one was working. I let the 10 year old drive a 750 JD .I told him ... when I say stop you step on this peddle. On one job my father came to visit and I took him to where I was working and let him run a track hoe and loader. The best career was construction and running heavy equipment.
Thank you for letting Mr. WATT 😊 come and play and learn the fuel and lube system 😊 the old ( Betty) is my favorite 1978 same year as my Dynahoe-190 😊 Mr. WATT learned the dump for bucket control I see. With the backwards lever control system CAT put on 977s. That front Loaders from that series are the best looking, but times changed and thay moved engines to the rear. Lets DIG is so outstanding to let Mr. WATT come and see and operate in his job development site. 😊😊😊 This is so fantastic about U-Tube that two great videos series can get together and actually show video of each other on job sites. For everyone saying Mr.WATT should do more with smaller contractors. Great idea but remember you and me can NOT go to some of these large Mines and hige projects that Mr.WATT has filmed at let alone film there. So the none contractor people watching video on Mr.WATTs channel will only get to see those big projects from Mr.WATTs filming them.
I think Aaron should get some of his operator buddies together and head to Grindavík Iceland to help with the massive earthmoving project there. They're building crazy long lava dams to hopefully direct lava away from inhabited areas. They're also dealing with widespread infrastructure damage.
Chris is one of my favs...this was a while ago because the Bealy Good mansion is already started and just about to be poured! Also...try Mike @ Dirt Perfect, and certainly Clint & Kevin at C & C Equipment!! Oh, and also Matt at Diesel Creek!
Just remember young kid, " your manners " !!! Your not going to last long with a cocky attitude, it's yes sir to you. Chris has many generations experience, and his equipment, are his babies... You've got a lot to learn... So listen !!!
I worked on some bridges here in the UK in the sixties, there was a 22 RB on the site when we were freezing the RB operator was sitting in his sweat pants and T shirt such was the heat that came from the Gardiner engine in the old RB.
Yup, the "Old Dogs" had skills. We would figure stuff out, patient, and were tough S.O.B's. Not this just plug and play rigs. Glad to say I was one of them. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Today the " New" operators wouldn't be able to do anything without GPS. I remember grader operators that were amazing grading just by using blue top stakes. And me , I got out as GPS was coming in and would need some computer training for that stuff.
You didn't ask him how many fish he's dropped out of the bucket from the pond, because you know that some of them weren't fast enough to get away before they got scooped up in all the mud.
OMG! That's awesome considering I've been watching his stuff for a couple years now, and just got some helmet stickers to adorn my laptop lid a couple of days ago :)
International used to have the greatest Lock up system in the 1970s. I ran a 125 track loader. It first had a steel locking cover for battery disconnect. So you had a lock outside.😊 Then you had a lock on the battery switch inside the box 😊 then in the cab ( no windows just ROPs you had this thick steel half moon shaped cover over dash ( no key start) just a RED start button and gauges 😊 you had a lock on outside of this sliding plate 😊 they were the only piece of heavy equipment on that big sewer job that had that 3 lock up system. All fill points for lube and Diesel had these neat caps that had padlock hooks that were pretty hard to get through to turn caps. 😊 The side plates on engine service access covers had a padlock point outside the covers. The CASE machines did not have this many The Dynahoe-190 ( my side sewer stubs digger only had one steel plate over dash All the big excavators we had on the job, had steel plates over all cab windows. Once in the cab there was no cover over the dash, (key insert) we were digging in a wood right of way easement for the sewer ditch. So remote location. There were some new homes being built though. The one thing we did have for security is the 350 Bucyrus Erie excavator operator lived in his trailer with his wife at the job site. The fuel up guy hated that I locked up my Dynahoe. He told me to leave the fuel tank to fill unlocked. He did not have keys to all the different machines. I never remember problems with vandalism though.
I've watched 2 different people explain to Aaron what the 3 pedals are on track loaders built 40 years apart. Both said, "Middle one is the brake, you don't use that one." I don't why this is so funny to me.
Ld18 is on of the few guys with a youtube channel who can actually operate ! Next time you have a new guy on an articulated end dump that can't back it up to the machine to get loaded have them raise the body up a couple feet and you can look right behind it , saves a lot of aggravation with new guys
Customs to observe: Aaron Witt, when in the presence of a legend humble yourself. Unspoken words when in the presence of a legend #1 eye contact with a legend or with superior Samurai or Shogun; you were supposed to lower your gaze out of respect. #2 The evolution of bowing in three stages 🙇🙇♀️🙇♂️ 1. light bow when greeting friends or passing someone in a hallway; 2. then there is the 30 degree bow like when greeting customers or showing respect to someone of higher status. 3. And finally, there’s the deepest bow at 45 to 90 degrees reserved for legends or with higher levels superior Samurai or Shogun. Though you may be tempted to bow at a 120 degree it is not recommended, it could be taken as a sign of showing off? 4. Put the chair back after using it.
I have always wished my entire life that I could learn how to operate heavy equipment. It has been my wish since I was a youngin. Im 61 now, live in Buffalo NY. But employer's won't hire you unless you have experience. I know it pays well. Better than being a regional trust driver for 35 yrs. Lol
One criticism - the idea that an unstabilized roaming-moving-shaky "person perspective" camera provides a quality video experience for the viewer, is bullshit. It's not artistic, it's not cutting-edge, it's ghetto, that's it.
Clicked on video because of Letsdig18....but can't watch....too much motion in the camera🤢🤢 It was like a year ago when this was recorded maybe it's better now??
He didnt show you at all on his channel because you were not punctual. My motto has always been, "WHEN you dont show up on time and dont call, THAT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE, YOUR GONE" EXCUSES ARE LIKE A-HOLES, EVERYONE GOT ONE AND THEY ALL STINK. 😮
Didn’t this get filmed like 6 months ago? God damn this took forever for you guys to put out. I actually forgot about the video of this Chris uploaded.

Agreed
He’s worked with Chris and smaller companies several times instead of basing your opinion off the videos you watched why not just watch and shut up 😂😂
Filmed on my property and I never knew or got a mention , 🤣🤣 But Chris is awesome. Good to see him get some airtime on another channel
Arrooooo!
Now it is a historical document from the fargone past.
:P
haha well glad you found it. Thanks for the shoot location!!
I can’t wait to see the concrete pour on your pool.
@@andyw2919 Editing it right now!
We need more of these. I've watched Chris for forever. Lol awesome to see it from a different view.
Chris is one of the best heavy machine operators .
As a retired construction/ heavy equipment operator, i wouldn't have wanted to do anything else. Working outdoors and getting in some good exercise and being payed to play with the big toys of my youth.
2 of my very favorites to watch on RUclips Chris thanks so much for letting the kids stop by and teaching him some more about life.
Chris's smoothness/efficiency is amazing.
Aaron you are a lucky guy to work and learn from THE MASTER Letsdig18.
Cool. Props for Betty and the drag line ! Brings back old memories of local contractors from the late 60’s. 👍💪🏻👍
LD18 is my favorite channel. So glad to see you having him on your channel again!

"Please don't drive in the pond."
Solid advice, especially since Aaron always needs specific instructions. 😁😁😜😜🤘🤘
I enjoy all the videos of yours I watch, but I really enjoyed this one.
thanks for watching

Grew up watching let’sdig18 all time favorite RUclipsr as a kid!
Chris just seems like a normal dude that happens to record RUclips videos. I like the recording the smaller guys!
Chris is one of my favs...this was a while ago because the Bealy Good mansion is already started and just about to be poured! Also...try Mike @ Dirt Perfect, and certainly Clint & Kevin at C & C Equipment!! Oh, and also Matt at Diesel Creek!
Just dont scratch the equipment Chris hates scratches and dings. Nice to see you work with one of the best and most caring operators out there.
I worked for the Middlesex company in Florida and they didn't like excavator operators who used their counterweight as a dozer blade . LOL 😂
Yeah, I noticed how he didn't get to run the excavator 😂
Chris talks to Arron like a little Brother.
BigDeal18!!! Best Excavator Operator EVER
I have been waiting for this! I love these collaborations! I do miss Pie Time, though!
Just remember young kid,
" your manners " !!!
Your not going to last long with a cocky attitude, it's yes sir to you.

You've got a lot to learn... So listen !!!
Outstanding video…… best in a while due to its unusual nature ❤❤❤
I've been watching him for years
I'm subscribed to Letsdig for a few years and i haven't seen any of your videos before but if if you work with Chris I'm in .Subscribed
glad you're here
The dragline is the top of the food chain in mobile earthmoving equipment in the traditional sense
We need this collab to happen on a weekly basis please!
Watching from 🇨🇦..Love your videos 👏👏
Two of my favourite channels in one! Mike 🇦🇺
this was filmed a while back. cool to see you and Chris hanging out. Have you ever been to Mike's at dirt perfect? Southern Indiana.
The way you say wow would make owen wilson proud.
Chris is awesome been following him. Since he started his channel definitely gotta checkout more small businesses
Can you make video like this with Andrew Camarata?
I worked on some bridges here in the UK in the sixties, there was a 22 RB on the site when we were freezing the RB operator was sitting in his sweat pants and T shirt such was the heat that came from the Gardiner engine in the old RB.
That bucyrus is close to the 1960s crane I learned on doing bridges straight out of highschool same levers, pedals everything
awesome
Ok, this is a matchup I did not expect to see.
That moment when you realize a machine from 1959 has more tech than your car... 🤣
Loaded trucks with a 977 for moving dirt into the Seattle Kingdome for motocross events in the 70's, quite a blast.
Yup, the "Old Dogs" had skills. We would figure stuff out, patient, and were tough S.O.B's. Not this just plug and play rigs. Glad to say I was one of them. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

It takes alot of seat time to run a old track loader proficiently
We had Cat loaders in Heavy Equipment school in the Seabees. But they weren't used much outside of that. We used primarily John Deeres.
holy cow weird hearing his voice right off and on your channel 😂
Hey AAron, when is a video with whistlindiesel coming? Also kinda forgot to colorgrade this video. lol
During the wow counter would've been a good chance to put Owen Wilson in saying "wow"
Betty is an absolute fucking monster. Love hearing her push hard.
Hi please grade your log footage correctly. Throw a lut on that thing plz. Contrast and saturation isn't enough.
I've watched 2 different people explain to Aaron what the 3 pedals are on track loaders built 40 years apart. Both said, "Middle one is the brake, you don't use that one." I don't why this is so funny to me.

Aaron,There are rumors out there that Komatsu PC9000 us being built up in Canada. What do you know about this?
Sold a couple machines to Chris.. great guy.. If your ever in the area I can show you how Mennonites refurbish equipment!!
That’s a badass little trailer with the lubricants

Didn’t seem like Aaron was digging this guys jokes lol
Wow. A Texas fishing rig in the Carolinas. Rigged for Texas brim. Don't forget to set the drag.

Chris' off-road truck isn't a "she", it's a "he", & his name is Barney😉😎 . Come on man, get his pronouns right😅!
The fact you have no operating skills makes it very awkward for a heavy équipements channel
Unsubs.
it's not a heavy equipment channel

Am i the only one who senses some sexual tension between Aaron and Chris???
WTF LMAO
Yes. Which is rather revealing.
