There is a lot in this video. A man having a go which should never be criticised. A man willing to help and learn others. And a lesson that there is more to driving a digger than pulling the sticks!
Couldn't AGREE more, there's more to running a excavator than just pulling on them sticks. It takes knowledge and know how/skill to operate one correctly.
@@420tagalong@andrewbranthwaite5240 ABSOLUTELY. Anyone can be taught how to make an excavator do things. But truely _operating_ one takes either innate skill or experience, and Chris has both. I hope the boys were paying attention. A great teaching/learning moment there.
You are such a good friend. You give pointers, assistance, and rescue. You made it look so easy and, understandably, someone with a little knowledge could get in over their head. Carter was wise enough to immediately stop working, drop the boom to stop the slide, & call you. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
Chris, so now you have a neighbor's machine that you can borrow when you get jobs that require a LONG REACH EXCAVATOR. What's his RUclips channel name?
Two lessons learned, ask an expert for help, then listen and watch, then execute the lesson. Nice, that’s what neighbors are for. Thanks for the idea and appreciate you both for the video.
I love how Chris had a “little” fun with the teasing but only because it looked like it was not yet in massive recovery need. Fortunately for these guys, they already know enough to call Chris and let him have a bit of fun for his channel. They even recognized [out loud] just how easy Chris made this look while simultaneously speculating on a master combination of moves that only gets refined over many years and the learning lessons which includes what hopefully does work (and what usually only makes it worse). Kind of like many people can remove a kidney but if the patient is still alive and wants to stay that way, you bring in a tested surgeon.
Neighbours who are always willing to lend a helping hand are the best - a community unto itself. Fun to watch and Carter you are so lucky you have this 'expert' close bye.
It does my heart good to see a young man giving it a go. He will make mistakes but the things he will learn from those mistakes will last him a lifetime. Keep pushing Carter.
Thanks Chris for being a patient and willing friend willing to help an inexperienced young man with his problem. Everybody has to learn some time and it's great that he has you to show him. God Bless and Please pray for a little 5 year girl Ava Rigney overcome with cancer. Chris I love your videos and have learned so much myself. Stay safe and keep the videos coming.
know every now and then in dew time a young guy will knock it out of the park. His positive Attitude has put him on the top shelf, know I was blundering I cannot put words where they belong
That’s a whole lot of mud. It’s a good thing that he has a very experienced operator near by. I don’t think this will be the last time you have to rescue him. Showing him how to lift up the sinking side of the excavator while walking it out will serve him well in the future.
It will either help him or he will end up with a short stick lol, i wish him well though. I almost bought a long stick until i saw one of Chris videos walking out in the mud to dig it out with a much higher capacity bucket.
Good to see the young pups out there getting their paws dirty and working...spending money on the things that matter and are truly fun in their own right
First time I ever ran a backhoe, I rented one and sunk it down to the ground pretty quick. I panicked for a minute before I remembered I had a lot of hydraulic help built in. I put the front bucket flat on the ground and lifted the nose a little and then pulled myself backwards with the the hoe. You just have to stay calm.
*Mark Twain wrote about this situation more than 170 years ago, and Chris fell for it today . In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom's best friend Huckleberry Finn comments that painting the fence looks like fun. Tom then tricks his schoolmates into painting the fence for him, and paying for the privilege* Tom convinces Ben that whitewashing a fence is great pleasure, and after some bargaining, Ben agrees to give Tom his apple in exchange for the privilege of working on the fence. Over the course of the day, every boy who passes ends up staying to whitewash, and each one gives Tom something in exchange*
One thing I noticed was the 2 different filming styles, Chris always focuses on the equipment and work being done, and rarely does a selfie style of filming, but in cab from behind is normal, and I like Chris's style better than the selfie style, because its ultimately a matter of what the video is about, the man the myth and the legend, or the equipment and work.
It's nice of you to come down and give the next generation some pointers about running the machine some dos and don't when they feel like they are over their heads call Chris. No but it is nice of you to come to the rescue and talk them through it with calm and not condescending at all. Like I said they are the next generation and they have to learn. Thanks for sharing Chris your the best
Had about the same thing back last summer in my pond rented a excavator not nearly the size of that one, thankfully I had hard ground around my pond and still had a few pucker moments and didn't have a letsdig18 to call
You made that look easy Chris but without experience the young fella was in a tight spot but had the right idea at the right time to give you a call now thanks to you he now has the knowledge to recover from that issue in the future, a great little vid.
It is not about macho, it is about experience and seat of the pants acquired instinct that comes with the experience! There is also geometry involved in order to get a machine out of trouble. I compare it a little to shooting pool/billiards except in 3D. Thank you Chris for helping those that need a little help!
That young man is lucky to have a nieghbor like Chris as a friend willingly to take some of his valuable time to help keep that little incident from becoming a major problem
I’ve been in a situation just like this and almost sunk a machine because of it, what I’ve learned is place your tracks straight on with what your digging. Takes longer and tears up grass but IF it does get stuck it’s easier to get out and less likely to tip. Just food for thought.
LD18 rescue services to the rescue, good on the owner for giving it a go in the first place bro. A few pointers and he should be fine till ya get another call. Safe travels. Ken.
LD18 swopes in for the save. Nice recovery. Great to have helpful neighbors. A long reach looks like it could be a tricky machine to operate. I am sure if I had one it could be a disaster. Look forward to seeing Carter's finished clean up.
Well you're the guy to show him how to do it. You must be the favorite pond digger for your area. It's not your first rodeo but it's his first. He'll learn a lot from you. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
BOOM BABY!!! I went to Carter Sharers page and only then realized why he looks so familiar. He is a big time YTer and has over 10.5 Million subs. Be sure to let us know when he posts THESE videos.
What a great neighbor you are. Sliding a heavy machine down into a mud bank, scary. You drove that out like as if youve done it before, Oh yea I remember seeing you do something similar.
why am I hearing the theme song from Mighty Mouse right now? "Here he comes to save they day!!! Mighty Mouse is on the wayyyy!!!! Never a dull moment for Chris!
Asking for help before you get in too much trouble shows wisdom.

@@nerdgarage yes it was
Too bad he didnt have a Barney to get the muck hauled off! 😀
@@cathiwim yeah Barney would have worked perfect for that.

Chris is always willing to teach and give pointers as long as someone shows the initiative!! Two worlds colliding!!

A gracious move to help a neighbor in distress. Good on ya!
Smart enough to stop when its time to stop!

Like a good neighbor...........Chris Guins is there.👍
Got dangit... I sang it.
😂😂
For real.
Is that really his last name? It would make him directly related to Ghengis Khan.
kudos to you chris for helping this young man
This video explains why Chris is constantly get text messages in all his videos. He is the go to guy!
All the long day's you put in an still give time to others. God Bless you Bro.
Everyone needs a friend and neighbor like you in their life.
What an awesome mentor to have. He'll learn from the best, Wax on Wax off Danial san.

I think I’ll go out and buy a long reach excavator for a hobby project I have this weekend. 😳
Just some loose cash he had sitting around so why the hell not ? $😂
Wouldnt that be sweet to have that oppertunity?? xDD
My kids watch his channel all the time. He has 10million subscribers so I’m guessing he has some coin laying around!
It does my heart good to see a young man giving it a go. He will make mistakes but the things he will learn from those mistakes will last him a lifetime. Keep pushing Carter.
My favorite videos; when Chris comes to the rescue with his awesome operating skills! You are a good man LD18!
At least he knew to call for help before he made it worse. Good on him.
Worth being a friend of yours, you’re a gentleman, and well respected.
Makes me think of the phrase "Boys and their toys" when Chris came to the rescue. 🤣
The title should be " Don't try this at home, kids!!"
Chris says.....Hold my beer!
...unless LetsDig18 is your neighbor...
I bet that wont be the last time the phone rings on this job! lol
I showed my daughters who you were helping. They couldn't believe it. They loved it.

Credit where it's due .. he didn't make it worse by exceeding his skill level!

You’re a good man Chris. 💪🏼
Great neighbors are the best. Awesome job for not completely sinking it before calling!

You nailed it. Staying calm is essential
You never steer anyone wrong, Chris. You are a good guy.
Isn't that called a pucker moment🤣🤣🤣
6 or 8" of water and 6' of quicksand 😂
ya know I always remember the phrase you think its expensive to hire an expert try an amateur but ya we all gotta learn.
As my dad used to say "A wise man recognizes his limitations." Carter recognized it at just the right time, set his ego aside and call Chris, The Man!
That machine digging off the side has an amazing amount of leverage.
Too much, it’s going to be a slow process with that much boom.
At least he knew when to stop and call someone.
Never seen a machine operator work with pajamas on 😁
That dirt would be good for a garden once it dried . Noting wrong with having a little fun
Finally getting to this one 😊
What's up BealyGood . At least he didn't leave the key at home lol. Hope all is going as well as it can on your end.
@@chrisnelly2518 😁🤣👍🏼
At least they called before the cab was under the mud
Yeah, this is a big project for sure but if he's willing to tackle it, Kudo's!
Lol you da man! Maybe he will let you fly his helicopter lololol
Just goes to show what an experienced operator can do!
Experience, but credit for wanting to learn!
Gunna need to get him a bump stop on that bucket cylinder.
Chris for President, kudos on the save Chris damn good job an showing and explaining to Carter what to do and how to get out of a pinch.
Good job Chris! He was definitely nervous!
Nice save, Chris!
You’re a good man Chris. 💪
Watching the outboard track lift off the ground like that was pretty exciting. Then watching you unstick the machine was just magic.

welcome to LD18 School of what not to do and how to recover lol. glad you showed them the differance between an operator, and somebody that can run one

LetsDig18 to the rescue. Saved the day again Chris.
That’s hilarious. Chris knows exactly what he’s doing that he doesn’t even shut off his truck or even close his door. Oh hell I’ll be 5 minutes 😂
The boom pivot joint seems to be extremely strong to not warp or bend when pushing the Cat out of mud. 👍👍👍
Nothing like the pucker factor to get the adrenaline racing. Nobody needs a machine stuck. Letsdig18 recovery and rescue prevails again.

Chris didn't turn off his pick-up or even close the door.....CONFIDENCE...LOl
A least he knew when to stop and call an expert, most leave it too late till the water is flowing in to the cab. :-)

hey the old side slide happens to everyone at least once. those dam tracks have such great grip till you start side hilling
