On both trips I took on AA last year there were a lot of operational meltdowns and I am fortunate that I wasn’t terribly affected. I noticed as a passenger that there is a lot of instability now.
I’m glad you weren’t affected too much! We are still short staffed, so the snow and ice that hit dallas last week caused problems and then we ran out of crew members. And then scheduling couldn’t find where crews ended up and it was a whole mess. We are hiring a lot of new crew members though, so hopefully in the next few months the short staff problem won’t be too much of an issue anymore.
Hannah, I hope you get the opportunity to train some of the new flight attendants because I find it’s very important that new hires who have successfully completed the flight attendant training course be paired up with experienced co-workers who can onboard them properly to insure they get off to a good start and make it for the long term.

Hi Amy! Once it starts to warm up a little bit I’ll start wearing the nude tights again. So maybe in a couple more weeks as we get closer to spring, or if I have any warm layovers I’ll wear them!
Doesn’t the airline have to comply with the Union Agreement on your layover requirements for rest time even if the airline doesn’t officially make you hotel reservation not to mention the FAA rules that apply to crew?
Hi Joe! So yes. The airline would still have to comply with our minimum rest requirements. But our layover was longer than the FAA minimum rest, so they could have reassigned us something with an earlier report. Luckily they didn’t end up doing that and we were able to get a decent amount of rest that layover.

Hey Rory! The company doesn’t reimburse us for travel fuel used to get to work, but my car gets great gas mileage, so I don’t mind the drive. We actually don’t get paid til we are on the plane and the door is closed and we have pushed back from the gate. So I did not get paid the whole time I was sitting in the airport unfortunately. I may be able to fill out a form to get 3 hours worth of pay for that time we sat, but I need to talk to my union rep to make sure.
I was just wondering if you could maybe get a radio with an anlog dial and maybe do a video of you scanning through the am fm radio radio stations that would really help me when I am down please reply please
May I ask why you are not a fan of the 737? I know you didn't have a lot of time on the ground in New Orleans, but I was looking for a plate of gumbo or a stroll down Bourbon Street 😁. P.S.- the puppy is beautiful too 😁🐕🐶
Hi Delonte! If we would have kept our 18 hours in New Orleans I would have definitely gone out and explored. But by the time we got to the airport with the short layover and having to figure out the hotel situation, I didn’t have a whole lot of time to venture out. And i would have had to Uber, so I didn’t feel like doing all that. The 737 is my least favorite planes of the ones we have. It’s a smaller galley area, so we have less room to get things ready for service. And the way the seats and bins are set up the boarding process seems to take a lot longer than our 321s.

Hi Hines! I try to get uniform shots when I can/remember. A lot of times I have intentions of getting a shot of it in the hotel room, but end up taking too long to get ready lol.
