Can confirm, the LHR black book is very real for crew members and my name is in it. lol I normally just check my bag but carry on my small bag with essentials. I somehow missed a lip gloss in the deep recesses of my bag that I checked more than 3 times. I didn’t get a performance point though. Never heard another thing about it and the man writing me up was uncharacteristically pleasant. I’m used to getting barked at for something I’m not doing exactly right 😆 I still love working it despite security leaving and the long rides to the hotels.
Always love the informal format! It was interesting to learn about the companion passes that you get. Also, I feel ya on the oversleeping part since I work nights and it can excruciating with IT 😭 thanks for a lovely video!
Great video Hannah. I mainly watch flight and cruising vlogs. Love cruising. Cruising is a great vacation. I hope you get to go. Looking forward to seeing your live. I'm excited your channel has grown so much lately
Love the informal format of this vlog. From personal experience there is no such thing as I will lay here for a few more minutes that early in the morning 😂. Enjoy your extra time off and look forward to seeing your next adventure.
LHR is a mess for us as passengers too, super strict and rude security, compared to for example Schiphol amsterdam where you can bring all sized of liquid and you dont need to pull it out either
Imputed taxes are taxes on the value of a benefit. For example, if a plane ticket cost $300 but the person gets to fly free, they would pay the associated taxes on $300.
Unfortunately in the UK we’re obsessed with internal threat and this is why you get the same “treatment” of a normal passenger with no exemptions. Greetings from a fellow crew member Edinburgh based
LHR security is one of the strictest but there are definitely worse in the UK! I’m LHR based crew and for us it’s not too bad, but some of our domestic routes are a headache!
This is the girl next door flight attendant 😂!! Wholesome as could be!! I’m an old ex American Airlines Flight ✈️ attendant, I wish you good luck 👍🍀 Things are a lot different from when I graduated training in March of 1989😊
Oh my goodness, so different! I always love flying with the senior mamas and papas and hearing you guys stories. It was almost a completely different job back then.
Hi Hannah I'm new to your Channel . Im from England . I am really enjoying all your videos and find it fascinating how many people fly domestically. We don't do that much here . Xx
So flying LHR-LAX I arrived 2 hrs early (instead of 3) and the check in line was long. Thought I was going to miss my flight. Anyways got checked in raced through security and LHR security wants us to place liquids in a plastic bag so I forgot one small shampoo. They pulled my bag aside I waited 15-20 mins for them to get to my bag and they found it. They had to put it in the liquid bag and send it through security again which was another 10 mins and though I missed my flight. I was a few mins early and the flight was delayed.
Hannah, great info. The LHR crew member restrictions are not fun. Almost better to go with no liquids and gels and brush teet with warm water and salt. As for the oversleeping, are you instituting any procedure modifications to ensure that never happens again? If you do rack up some performance points, are they on the record forever or do they expire after a time length? My friend is an FA for NK and their points are removed after a year from being received. Stay well. Herman
I’ll just have to make sure to set my alarm next time while I’m contemplating just in case. lol. But yes, a year after I get the point it will go away. But as of right now I don’t have any points bc I still have some banked points.

It’s a fun layover for sure! That’s good for no performance points. Maybe it just depends on what you get written up for. Or who your manager is lol.

Even though I’ve been doing early sign ins for years, they still get me every now and then! It’s so hard to get up while it’s still so dark outside!

🤞🏼🤞🏼 we are thinking that’s the best route as of right now for our spring break plans, but we’ll see.
My wife and daughter flew on American Airlines buddy pass from San Antonio Texas back to Greenville, South Carolina, or $110 each I think it was

Haha I’m usually pretty good about resetting the alarm and then getting up, but I fell asleep too quickly this past time 🤦🏼♀️

Okay, that was kinda my understanding, but you explained it in much simpler terms. Thank you!

Oh okay. So far I personally haven’t had any issues, but I have witnessed some. Last time through I did get a full pat down though lol.

Oh no! So far the few I’ve been through while working have been pretty chill for us, but you’ll have to let me know which ones to look out for!

It’s always when you’re rushed when things go crazy! Did they end up letting you on since it was delayed?

That's a great perk to have to call off.

I will say this most recent time I went through all the security employees I encountered were super sweet with me!
You do well to placate the dogs while talking to the camera! 😊
