    I'm 41 & took three sets today and this video is literally all I did. Then the last pop of the day was able to stick the backside 180 wake to wake, rope blind behind the back and everything! Thanks for this awesome video and for keeping it real for the old dudes 😜

    Thanks Shaun for continuing to create these videos for the lower level riders. I love watching you do the amazing pro's only type tricks but us most of us don't have those kind of skills. You keep wakeboarding interesting and make new tricks seem doable. At 48 its easy to just wakesurf all day. However, videos like this keep me interested in wakeboarding. Thanks man!

    I’m 56 years old and have been slalom skiing the past two years since I retired. I’ve been considering wakeboarding. I’ve been watching your videos since and feel this is very reasonable to start into wakeboarding. Thanks for posting. Watching your videos have trained my mind into taking that next step. Now to find the right board for me. 👍🏼😊

      Right on Mathias. What's your height and weight stats if I may ask? Most adults can blindly purchase my 144 and have a good time either way. If you're taller than 6' 2", go up to the 150.

    Loving these videos man
    Discovered wakeboarding July last year and instantly hooked, having snowboarded for 30 years I picked it up pretty quickly and enjoying being able to progress at a decent rate. Started cable riding initially and now just started boat riding too. These videos are absolutely brilliant and really helping me know what to do to keep pace of progression at a good rate. Just getting my heel side wake to wake jumps about right, need to get toe side in next and then it’s 180 time.

    Hey Shaun. Thanks again for having me out to your house in August for the Adventure IO event. What you taught me for the frontside 360 that day has helped me tremendously. I have landed several wake to wake and I am in the process of dialing them in. Mike has landed his first backroll and my son Quade has been killing it with wake to wake jumps and 65ft rope length! Anyway this video is exactly what I needed and wanted to do next. We just didn't have time when I was there a couple of months ago. Enjoy YOUR ride.

    In your last video you commented to me about board control,I took it to heart and took several steps back to it,after watching the kind of geometry you put into your board I knew I was off with mine,it paid off big,I ended my session remastering the slide and tried to achieve the slide you do where you are almost touching your chest or back on the water,when I get about 75% of the way down my board starts to wobble,I think it’s ankle fatigue on my part,I will start doing exercises to combat this,thanks for the input! Your videos are working!

    • @Shaun.Murray
      @Shaun.Murray  5 лет назад

      Right on Dave! And so you know, the reflection shot you're referring to, it's not a slide, like a lot of people think. It's just a really hard cut. So don't let your board slide out.

    Great video. One thing that has really helped me is that I was under rotating. If you land with the board at an angle pointing closer to the boat it really makes passing the handle easier. Also flattening the board a bit on take off reduces a bit of that line tension. I started landing almost all frontside 3s when I did that small change although for the fronside 3, I do need to slack more. For the backside 180, I've been getting about 1 of every 3 I try, but I realized I wasn't spotting my landing. This video made me realize this. Very helpful and I'll be giving it a try. Thanks

    I cant ride in the blind position! I can cross the wakes in the cuffed position no worries but as soon as I take the front hand off I will tic tock. I have tried to max edging, hinging, rear leg weight and reaching around fully. I have tried leaning at slightly different angles. knuckles are tight to my back. Ive looked to the shore and to my tail. Seems impossible. I think it might be due to my thick physique and shorter unflexible arms. Will larger fins help me? I use 0.8" fins on a 150 murray pro. 230 pounds.

    • @Shaun.Murray
      @Shaun.Murray  7 месяцев назад

      I understand the feeling bc if I'm wrapped riding blind in a switch position, it's not tough for me to stay there, but if I go regular stance but wrapped blind, it's hard to stay locked. The key is getting the connection to flow from your rear shoulder, through your body, to your front hip. If that makes sense. It's not the easiest and can take some time but let me know how it goes. Larger fins can def help as well.

      @@Leoms081077 look at the spot where you're going to Ollie, don't wait until you're in the air to pick that spot. Things will feel like they are happening too fast. More than anything, remember you're only doing a 180. Sure, it's a super cool 180 that can feel like more is happening so you're body and mind kinda freak out, but slow everything down and remember you're only doing a 180.
