first time listening to new aesop rock songs is always like ive just been shown sacred ancient knowledge and gained like 30 insight. i can literally see the amygdala in my room now
This writing is sooooo good. The intro to each verse, then the comment on the intro using the same theme structure.. that rolls out so well from the chorus. Fucking hell, so good.
As an Indigenous First Nations man, I will always consider Aesop Rock a medicine man cut from the same spirit cloth. Some of your best songs are like really really long Native American round dance songs. Lyrically... it's like some of Nakoa Heavyrunner's songs except expressed differently. (If anyone doesn't know Nakoa Heavyrunner music, I recommend pawing through his many round dance songs on RUclips. ) Either way, this is so succinct and as Indigenous American in spirit as it gets. No offense to Supaman etc...
@@frost9681 I like stuff like that, but I completely understand lol. This EXEMPLIFIES what I LOVE about REAL HIP HOP! None shall pass was the first album I ever listened to by these cats and it changed my life. A decade later Aesop continues to be my favorite rapper/producer and for a good reason. His music transcends almost any rap music I’ve heard. LEGEND
There's usually at least one track per album that absolutely fucks me up. Zodiacupuncture, to none shall pass, to gopher guts, to get out the car ace, to this one. No other rapper has had the ability to genuinely draw torrents of tears as aesop. Much love brother

A lot of his songs have been about #fearandloathing, feeling disconnected by the horrifying mainstream of society. This song sums it up arguably better than any of his songs thus far, though he's been describing this his whole career. 12 out of 10.
I know you love it when the novas open cobra hoods, a little show to get the focus off the cloven foot - when I was going through a "psychotic episode" the sun(nova) shined a light into my room in such a way that is made a king cobra made of light on my wall..

'we let our most irascible design the characters, they only dressing they vendettas up as parables, promoting privacy and cowardice as parallels'. Life for the last 20 months in 22 words. Fantastic album!
Wow, so...this relates 100% to the thought I had before playing this track (that it would be about time we create new stories to go down as the myths to guide future generations). Also, right as I read your comment and hit reply, Aes started spittin' it. Love it when the Universe winks at me like this ^^
Also, what the heck, I had a big crush on a girl named Lori, she taught me what the color of the flower in your pfp is called. This amount of mind blowage at 9am really sets an impossible standard for the day.

The biggest thank you to Aesop.. man, you have been the best Spirit World Guide for both of us. Your music, videos, all of you.. has helped us immensely in ways I cannot put into words. You brought us closer, and you squeegeed our third eye like no other. Thank you!
Perfectly summed up the swirled stage 💩 show. I’m just glad I’m not the only one that’s observing & creating art in direct response to the bs. Standing ovation from me 👏🔥
Wish I could share my art here. If I even mention it in a comment on RUclips it gets deleted, but I’ve noticed it occurring more on this channel than any other which is frustrating. I’ll be really disappointed if I find out it is the label bc you are blocking your subs growth by limiting conversations. Nothing I’ve commented is worthy of deletion. I don’t even curse in my comments ffs. Don’t be gatekeepers Rhymesayers just bc your artists hold the keys doesn’t mean they belong to you. 😊
Ayahuasca is one hell of a drug... Ive smoked DMT before but i couldnt imagine it lasting over an hour.... 15 minute breakthrough is enough to leave me mindfucked for a few weeks.
