It does work but I don't recommend tilting old iron unless it's really clean. I bent one which had some heavy pitting from AC unit dripping on it over the years and it didn't go well.
Looks are deceiving. They build some good GM with what appears to be good results. They still run a good mix of old school tricks as well as some of the new age tricks old school never dies

Done it to a couple metric caddys 77-79. Really enjoyed it but definitely was cheating involved in it like everyone else
really feel like yall aint building to the max of rules leaving out alot of things that would help keep the car straight
