3:15 As someone who has seen Amorphis live a whole bunch of times, I can confirm that the vocalist, Tomi Joutsen, sounds every bit as great live and has absolutely zero trouble flipping between growls and cleans.
Edit: Also another cool thing is the absolute clarity of his growls. I find that with most singers I have a hard time making out the lyrics, but Tomi's diction is so good that I can make out every word.
Agreed, also seen them live a few times and I agree with everything Aleksi said.
the part about clarity, its because hes pronouncing them with a tiny bit of finnish accent, Finnish language leans hard on every single letter (rolling r´s harsh L`s) while english tends to silence some letters mid sentence.
I can confirm that! Heard him on the 8th of July live. There was a lot of rain. It didn't stop us! Tomi was great! Amorphis were great! Awesome band!!!
I agree. I saw Amorphis just 2 months ago in Naantali seurahuone, and I confirm. Tomi sounds just as same live as in record. amazing singer
Completely agree, imo he has one of the best growls in metal.
About the lyrical meaning of "The Bee", according to vocalist Tomi Joutsen,
"The lyrical inspiration is a bee, also in a metaphoric way. The tiniest thing can sometimes be the most important thing. A bee can bring life or if we destroy all the bees, life will stop here."
Pretty much about Kalevala
@@ristusnotta1653 basically yeah, but can has many meanings
@@onearthonelegion can has not 😅
@@TheMehustaja can can has; in art the perception is born in the mind of the beholder, and thus can has many many beautiful interpretations all equal in verisimilitude
@@onearthonelegion its all Finnish nothing else.
Just listen to them live, Tomi is even better, he can do anything with his voice
This song is stuck into to my head. 😆
This song has been stuck in my head for about a year and a half.
@@justiis4672 Ahh cool i just count, year and a half +1 day :D
Amorphis, another wonderful band and group of musicians. They are great, glad you reacted to them. Another Finnish group, must be something really good in the snow and cold there to bring out talent like this, NightWish, and many others.
Same vocalist does both voices perfectly live. Amazing talent.
From somewhere on the net: "a member of this band has confirmed that this song has to do with 'Kalevala' (which is a Finnish national epic compiled from old Finnish ballads, lyrical songs & incantations that's part of Finnish oral tradition). This song is about the hero Lemminkäinen dying and being sent to the river Tuonela (the underworld) & his mother going to fetch him back. His mother sews his body back in one piece and the sky god Ukko sends a bee from the heavens to blow life back into him."
Tomi is one of the best metal singers! I like to say he roars not growls....😉He got amazing clean vocal tone! They should be much bigger but they're Finnish so bigger markets rules them out
I think the biggest obstacle is the genre. It might be a bit too melodic for many of the really hardcore deathmetal/-core/etc fans and they for sure are WAY too heavy for mainstream listeners. To my understanding they are quite big worldwide in their "sub genre box".
I once saw an interview with Esa Holopainen and he said basicly that he prefers it this way. Meaning he doesn't want the band to get too big so that they can still walk on the streets and enjoy being unknown. Which I understand completely.
I've seen him and heard him live! This guy is amazing!!! Sounds the same live as he is on the record. Inredible talent!
Spotify recommended me this song and it was a blessing from the heavens!!! I love music that feels HEAVY and light at the same time. I love the contrasts and this song have all the contrasts that you might want :3
Amorphis ❤️ have been a fan since midt 90's and with Tomi Joutsen, they're 🤩
They are really good live too 🤘😁🤘
Kiitos.
You're welcome!

From the first second: yes, we hear that! The shaman of AMORPHIS, the mighty and tender Tomi Joutsen. The man is like the elements themselves - majestic, awesome and beautiful. I rarely like growls in general, unless used sparingly to spice up the songs... but this is one of the most satisfying vocal emissions I have encountered in my life. And he does it steadily album after amazing album, mixing that deep growl on point with those warm manly clean vocals of his. I feel I need to give a shout-out to the instrumentalists and songwriters of this Finnish institution, but I am just exausted after so much night-time Net surfing. :)) Let us just say there was never a more fitting name to a band than AMORPHIS, and the way they construct their brand of compelling but accessible music laden with an individual melodic touch, makes it recognizable among legions of Prog bands.
Amorphis is in my top 3 since 1993. Taste to Bad Blood... Tommy is one of the best Growler nowdays along with Mickael Ackerfeld. His clean voice is also very good. They are just perfect in live performance.
Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth you mean :) You should check out Björn Strid of Soilwork, he's also up there :)
I LOVE this song! Please check out the background of the lyrics. It will elevate the song for you. Best growler ever
At the end there's a guy asking if you've reacted to Ne Obliviscaris, and you haven't, but And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope is so amazing composition-wise that is taught in The Sydney Conservatorium Of Music as part of their curriculum.
Yes, please!
great see amorphis in here too. great band and song and reaction. hey and rip alexi laiho who past away last week. there end one of finish heavy era. thanx and have great new year there.

My other Amorphis favourites are Death Of A King and Amongst Stars (featuring Anneke Van Giersbergen). Both original videos are excellent.
Thanks Charlie! Here something live from the band ruclips.net/video/twfj41kQeds/видео.html
Band-Maid - Domination (live)🔥
Its not a mongolian singing : just a bee song ;)
In the same way, you should love : Moonspell and Septic Flesh. Samaël is very cool too : swiss electronic black metal.
And to the top : Igorrr ieuD
This is the part when Gandalf comes white.. Not even kidding.
Did you know that Rainych was debuted as a singer in Japan? Recently she was featured in a Japanese tv programme NHK regarding her cover of "Manoyaka no door - stay with me" by the late Ms.Miki Matsubara. Turn on the subtitle when you watch it here 👉 ruclips.net/video/qe7QfvkiJGQ/видео.html
