Going to pick this up. I had a great moment in my life when my mom took my nephew and I to the tech museum in San Jose California, and it was all the Star Wars props from the movie on display. I remember seeing the Star Destroyer model that was used in the beginning of the movie, alongside the Blockade Runner with the Star Wars poster and playboy pinup inside the bridge. It’s something I will not forget, including the 5ft Falcon.
Man, I wish Bandai would do a Republic Star Destroyer in the same scale. I still have my Revell kit that you did a build video of that I may get around to someday.
Beautiful kit and a beautiful build, loved the music, Oh and I agree with Ascension Industries the scale of the kit would be so much more fun to build if it was larger.
@@TR_TenSeven The Revell kit is a licensed Zvezda kit. It's bigger but it's also very inaccurate and lacks a lot detail. If you want something bigger to start with and don't mind accuratizing it, might be the kit for you otherwise both the smaller scale Revell Rogue One Star Destroyer and the Bandai kit are more accurate.
@@AvengerII Thanks for the info, I indeed forgot that the Revell kit is actually from a Zvezda license. Regardless, that 1/2700 kit is FAR too large for me and the Bandai 1/5k in this video is what I have on the way and should do nicely.
@@TR_TenSeven Cheers, I will have a look at that video, always wanted someone to produce a kit where the ISD was about 4 feet in length with an insane amount of detail on it, stay safe.
It turned out fantastically, and once again great music selection. Apparently you accomplished this without using any fiber optics. I was curious about whether I should go that route with mine or not. I'd recommend getting a Tamiya decal tweezers. They are a finer point than what you used here, making it easier to pick up the masking tape.
Hello, thanks for this wonderful build. I have the kit though. But without le LEDs (and holes through hull I guess) Do you think it possible to drill such tiny holes to let the light go trough the model ? Thanks a lot
The cameras/lenses can blow your lighting where you create the finished scale of depth, field of view from maximizing that massive V shape. Try using blue light on the Grey. Why not use black water color or some thin black highligher in those pannel creases. Good job!
Thanks! There's two versions of this kit, one comes with LEDs and a basic one without. The basic one is probably the best value as I think the LED version is a bit overpriced for what you get.
Have you considered building one of the Bandai Storm Troopers and painting it up in the yellowed, beaten up, "remnant trooper" style from The Mandalorian?
I still think it's funny when I see Star wars models kits. some manufacturer went through all the trouble to build a model kit to recreate something from Star wars that was actually created from a whole bunch of different model kits in the first place. A model kit reproducing a model kit. Lol
think they should have put the power supply under stand not on the inside, easier to replace the batteries and less chances of breaking something down the road
Can someone help me? I use to watch a guy who made custom Bandai clone troopers on RUclips and I can’t for the life of me find him. He always referred his viewers to Chili and was super talented at customizing Bandai. He had a custom clone which he wrote a whole backstory to. It was awesome. He had a whole ton of videos of him making these custom clones and even making little scenery to go with them. I’m in desperate need of his videos lol so if anyone know who I’m talking about or what happened to him please let me know
Bandai 1/5000 Imperial Star Destroyer model kit: amzn.to/3hFMwXp
A trick: watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Karsyn Anders Yea, I've been using flixzone for since november myself :)
I absolutely love this channel
Because of modelchilli. I'm back into building models again. I haven't built models since I was 15. And I'm 25 now. Lol
I hadn't built a model in over 25 years, then dumped $2000 into gunpla and the neccessary supplies.
Talk about a midlife crisis. 😁
Thank you, that's great to hear! 🙂
@@ascensionindustries9631 way cheaper then a younger GF and a messy divorce 😇
Awesome build. Really wish that Bandai Star Destroyer was larger though. At least another foot would be nice.
Thanks!
Another foot, another $200!
As do I. It was pointless to go to all that trouble with detail and make it so tiny. I hope they make one at least to 2700 scale.
They do have a 1:2700..... look up Plasmo's build
@@velveetaslingshot I’ve done that same model it just isn’t as detailed as the Bandai.
Great job building/painting this model!! It looks like one the actual models from the ILM shop!!!
Thank you very much!

Cool memory. 🙂
Watching this makes me want to start building.
That millennium falcon paint job is absolutely microscopic!
Fascinating that Star Wars ship miniature props were built from model kit parts.
you just have to love Bandai models, so crisp, so well made., saves time, very little glue usage, and extremely detailed, MY FAVORITE
Yep they sure make building much less of a chore!
The Falcon on the back is a super nice touch dude.
The amount of patience needed for the masking tape.. respect! Awesome build and paint job
Thank you! Masking is tedious, but it's worth it!
This was great. Music was perfect. Time lapse is perfect. You just got a new sub, my friend. Heading to your back catalog now.
Awesome, thank you!

My disembodied head in the void. 🧔
Really Magnificient Masterpiece ! Great Work !
Thank you!
Managed to snag 4 clone Bandai kits because you inspired me. Keep it up 🔥
Looks like an awesome kit to build!
I just ordered mine I cannot wait !!!!
Nice!
Beautiful work Chili.
Thank you very much!
Great build. Thanks for all the videos. Me and my boys love watching.

Wonderful panel work. Loved the lighting for the end slides too
Krass das Größen Verhältnis zwischen dem Zerstörer und dem Falken.
Thanks Chili but I'm a great fan of your bigger and longer builds - 30 mins plus.
Cool thanks! I'll always make those, this is just a sped up version for those who don't have much spare time. 👍
Beautiful kit and a beautiful build, loved the music, Oh and I agree with Ascension Industries the scale of the kit would be so much more fun to build if it was larger.

Revell does a 1/2700 scale kit that is huge. Check out Plasmo's vid where he built it with lighting.

Amazing work my man👍👍
Thank you 🙌
Amazing work!
Thanks!
Can you do a video o you showing all the tools and how you weather things? Because i have trouble finding a video on weathering.
Awesome stuff! Wish we had you're commentary for it thoifh

Fantastic video! And thanks for the great tips and ideas within the video.
Really cool model.

I did a beat up Stormtrooper a few years ago. 🙂 Wouldn't mind doing another one though.
merely a foot large, yet the sheer amount of detail makes it feel so much larger..
Love your videos, but prefer to hear your narration! :)

where did the LED set come from? Looks awesome BTW!!
It was included in the kit. 👍 Thanks!

What is the kit # so I can my Philippines hobby shop can order it.
How long is the finished model, overall, please?

How do you remember where those marking tape are? It's so tiny and many of them

hows covid been treating you man? hope to see you in person again, I will try and talk to you this time.

It would be good.. but it'd probably strip my monetization rights. :(
I'll admit, a little disappointed to see it's snap tight, not trim and glue. Still, great work!
Think of the machine that makes all these parts , be there for ever building that if you don’t know what your doing
it shoulda been bigger
