I work 3rd shift as a machinist so my part runs take hours while waiting I would search this topic for months. I would do it but unlike shops like fire punk I dont have multitude of generations of cummins engines to match odds and ends up. We have full control over the ecu with hp tuners / efi live. Ive seen it done with other engines.

You didn’t happen to get that truck from a guy named Nate Bowman did you? He had a silver 3rd gen that had the transfer case explode on it that he sold a while ago lol
The tcase exploding is not the root cause though. The double cardin joint in the front driveshaft is the culprit, locks up, and rips the tcase in half and does a great job of making a mess
The fix is keeping the cardon joint healthy, often when we swap a transmission on trucks over 150k miles and roll the joint around with our hands, we feel a catch or tight spot, this is a sign of a worn joint that if not rebuilt/replaced will end up locking up and costing you a lot of money, it's a good idea to pull the front driveshaft periodically on high mileage trucks to check for wear
