  • Most Christians have heard about Jesus' miracle of the feeding of the 5000 with the five loaves of bread and two fish. Some Christians are also aware of Jesus' discourse in John chapter 6 following the miracle, in which Jesus reveals that he is the true bread of life that came down out of heaven; and that if anyone wishes to abide in him, one must partake of his flesh and drink of his blood.
But what many Christians do not realize is that when Christ's disciples begin to leave him en masse because of this difficult teaching, Jesus asks the Twelve if they are going to do the same. Simon Peter answers Jesus with a telling question and then a statement that hints at a great power that all true Christians possess, but which is seldom tapped into. Peter says, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
Join Dr. Tim Earle in this episode of The Ancient Theologian entitled, "The Power of the Eternal Word Within (John 6:68)" as he examines Peter's rhetorical question and subsequent statement and the power within each of us to which these point.
