Dude it’s not the developers fault, I’m sure they poured there hearts into this. The problem was that EA was more focused on Multiplayer games ( they thought no one wanted single player stories anymore ) and since Mass Effect Andromeda is majorly a single player game they’re budget was cut short and I think they only got $40 million to work on the game with when naturally a great TripleA title would need like $250 million.

Ok this is waaaaay better and informative than the cringe we just saw at E3, learn from Sony! bombard us with trailers and gameplay footage, and only speak if you have something meaningful to say, in a natural, humble tone, we're not in the 90s! ps at E3 never ... ever bring in mobile games, I doubt casual mobile "gamers" know what even E3 is.
Your statement would've been true if after the flute solo they splashed the game title and that was it, but the intention was to set the mood, and what followed was a kickass gameplay footage. what's really weird is your statement considering that pretty much all Sony's trailers included huge chunks of actual gameplay, something E3 2018 lacked heavily when it comes to big AAA titles.
Nobody seems to be aware of this but there are multiple BioWare studios in Canada and the US, and BioWare Montreal was responsible for Andromeda. While I can’t remember the location of this studio exactly, this is most definitely not Montreal, and therefore it’s not really his law to criticize the games development, or say anything other than what he said here actually. This guy had no hand in that game, so he’s not responsible for it’s failures.
Jayboy Montreal was in Québec Canada. But still a shitty studio though. You’re right, Andromeda’s failure was on them, not EA, not Bioware Edmonton, Texas etc. I watched a little mini Documentary on Andromeda and Montreal and that team was extremely divided and on top of that, they were very Inexperienced. If they were Experienced and united on the project, it would have been an entirely different game.
This is actually really good. He is just answering questions as it is, with complete transparency and not sugar coating it at all. Even if some of those answers disappoint people. Say what you will about EA but they are definitely listening and even going a step beyond every other game studio right now. No other game company has ever been this openly honest in an interview.

Josh Bennett IMHO PVP is like a drug. When a company like EA is allowed to control a PVP game economy, they will abuse it to make money. They have very little track record of being responsible, and millions of gamers have fallen into the life sucking grinds they create and use to feed and teach addiction to younger audiences. The only way to succeed and gain a more positive position in the world of gaming is to avoid it all together and make better quality games with better narrative, like the Bioware of old. In the end, that is what people remember and value. Sure you could waste your life grinding through PVP, paying for expansions and accessories and end up spending your own or someone else’s hard earned money, but a good story and game world will leave you feeling far more satisfied with your life. Like comparing masterbation to a true relationship. No contest for me. I’m never going back to the PvP rat race. Not when I know games like SWTOR exist and continue to to be made of people just said NO to this abuse.
Pvp is what kills 90% of these types of games. Destiny would be better with less focus on pvp. Same with the division. It’s all trash and serves no purpose in an mmo type game.
If you understood how guns worked underwater combat would be impossible. Besides give them time and they could develop such things in the game. I am sure underwater combat is going to be a pretty big request when the game launches. They just need to figure out how to make it work and make sense at the same time.
Big Red I understand how they work perfectly bub I just like how the under water world is in this game there is fighting in the air on the ground I want fighting in the water simple as that
Underwater monsters and combat movement are probably going to be the most challenging task. I am with you though underwater combat sounds incredibly fun and I hope they can ace it.
Stoned Homer That's what you took out of the interview, how big the world is? How is that a thing people are excited about anymore ... and not instead worried about??

Of course you can. There's 6 difficulties though, and I'm pretty sure you're in for a headache if you try to solo dungeons on the 4th 5th or 6th difficulty.
Well I had a team of 4 on hard mode stronghold on the demo but my team left me solo and I completed it. Not sure if it can be started solo actually, the devs keep saying everything can be done solo. I completed the fucking thing but it took me like 2 hours because breaking shields on enemies on hard mode was taking me like 2 minutes per enemy. Very difficult, but I think the HP and damage of enemies is also boosted being in a group and when they left I think the enemies kept the boost.

I thought we learned from Sony that weird japanese flute solos were more important than gameplay.
It was a joke, I'm not trying to argue with you. Idgaf about who people think did better at E3.
Sony's E3 was absolute butt.
This comment is funny as hell... Months later.... After the Blizzard/Diablo debacle😂
3:12 are you really blaming Zelda for how bad Andromeda was?
What would you have said about your colleagues?
Nobody seems to be aware of this but there are multiple BioWare studios in Canada and the US, and BioWare Montreal was responsible for Andromeda. While I can’t remember the location of this studio exactly, this is most definitely not Montreal, and therefore it’s not really his law to criticize the games development, or say anything other than what he said here actually.
This guy had no hand in that game, so he’s not responsible for it’s failures.
He didn't work on it, he was trying to be respectful to his colleagues
zachary, you are stupid as fuck
Jayboy Montreal was in Québec Canada. But still a shitty studio though. You’re right, Andromeda’s failure was on them, not EA, not Bioware Edmonton, Texas etc. I watched a little mini Documentary on Andromeda and Montreal and that team was extremely divided and on top of that, they were very Inexperienced. If they were Experienced and united on the project, it would have been an entirely different game.
These rapid questions are so good. It just makes sense these questions that are simple questions from the gamers and simple answers.
This is actually really good. He is just answering questions as it is, with complete transparency and not sugar coating it at all. Even if some of those answers disappoint people. Say what you will about EA but they are definitely listening and even going a step beyond every other game studio right now. No other game company has ever been this openly honest in an interview.
do you still stand by that statement in 2022

@@Sreal-uo1ly Yes, you can pay extra cash for Airlifts that contain weapon skins, basically Battlepacks with a different name. They aren't too bad to be honest, Battlepacks weren't really bad to begin with, but it's still pretty misleading to say "No Lootboxes" and then unveil Airlifts the next day.

Ok, no pvp....There is a chance for this game now
Travis L. PVP=fun
I agree. Pvp would be pretty cool
Josh Bennett but can also = toxic community
Pvp is what kills 90% of these types of games. Destiny would be better with less focus on pvp. Same with the division. It’s all trash and serves no purpose in an mmo type game.
Fast editing like this is so amazing!
This format is a good test for how good a sport these people are... I like this guy.

No underwater combat whaaaattttt 😥
If you understood how guns worked underwater combat would be impossible. Besides give them time and they could develop such things in the game. I am sure underwater combat is going to be a pretty big request when the game launches. They just need to figure out how to make it work and make sense at the same time.
Big Red I understand how they work perfectly bub I just like how the under water world is in this game there is fighting in the air on the ground I want fighting in the water simple as that
It'll happen in due time, they just have to do a whole lot of work to perfect the underwater fighting mechanic as I can imagine it is not easy.
Big Red Russia has an amphibious assault rifle so just saying guns do work just not all of em and fingers crossed 🙏🙏
Underwater monsters and combat movement are probably going to be the most challenging task. I am with you though underwater combat sounds incredibly fun and I hope they can ace it.
massive respect for the EP for and you for doing this

Can you solo the whole game?
Bet my answer will be no, hopefully not
Of course you can. There's 6 difficulties though, and I'm pretty sure you're in for a headache if you try to solo dungeons on the 4th 5th or 6th difficulty.
Toast. yes NOPE the fortresses require groups of 4
Well I had a team of 4 on hard mode stronghold on the demo but my team left me solo and I completed it.
Daemonshade it can’t be started solo unfortunately. It says you need a team to begin it, which sucks
Alright that did. I'm preordering. I don't think I've ever heard a description as compelling as
"Green. Spider. Spawns."
Love this, great interview style!
I would've asked if there will be more javelins
"Maybe in the future"
Would be the response.
He said 4 At Launch
Possibly meaning more javelins after launch
EA said all story DLC will be free and that Javelins don't count as story DLC. So there's your answer I guess.
"Is this game like Destiny?"
"This game is no like Destiny."
*Game turns out to be like Destiny*
Nothing like destiny...infact anthem is a complete joke lol
I still don’t get why offline mode isn’t at least an option. I’m fine with online mode being an option, but why am I required to be online at all times?
Travis Tomison because they said the world is constantly changing
Why is that a problem?
Why is that even a problem? Do you not have a decent internet connection?
Its only online because people can join at anytime so it has to be online only
I really really really like this interview style
Some of the questions are comfortably witty
