Having your compass toggled in the settings is super helpful for call outs. I use compass direction all the time in call-outs. Even the number bearing occasionally. I must say that I've also noticed a lot more of the player base has started using mics and communicating. I'm happy to see this because it really makes the game more fun.

As a veteran I approve this, but want to add one very important detail: CHECK YOUR MAP! Bind it to some comfortable button and check it constantly, I extract information about lanes, situation on OBJ (should I attack now or wait, what my team is doing) it increases my awareness, even if I hear footsteps I can check if its friend or foe. The classic situation of NOT to do: your OBJ is being taken, I check the map and see 3-6 teammates who just calmly hang around and do nothing whatsoever to defend the point, nothing infuriates me more in this game, I just collapse and RQ. Check the damn MAP!
I am so good at this game I'm almost too good. I always surprise myself by how much better I get just by taking a break from the game. My only advice to anyone reading this who finds themselves sucking at this game; always keep your gun up (don't sprint) through entry ways and around corners, stick to walls and cover, drop to prone when being shot at if there is no cover and/or if you know where you're being shot from, when you hear footsteps slow down so they can't hear yours and scan and check map for teammates, use full auto when you're in an enclosed space or for covering fire at close to mid range and semi for everything else (always be aware of your select fire), close doors behind you unless there is teammates in tow, turn off ear ringing sound, always get a gas mask and grenade, holographic/red dot with 3x magnifier + light armor and light ammo carrier, and last but not least, stay frosty

The "smoking truck while you're behind the cover" tactic doesn't even work, because truck's lmg can basically penetrate anything, and you won't stand a chance smoking it
Every single tip in this game is going to have edge cases. However, a victory can often times mean a slight leg up on the enemy. So, if one had a smoke and they were in that position and facing that truck, that would be a better option then smoking on your team. Sure the truck could just keep shooting but he's now less likely to hit. It's about continually increasing your odds. Obviously destroying or stealing the truck would be better, I don't think anyone is going to disagree with that.
The fact that sprint delay canceling and crouch jumping are the first two tips speaks volumes as to this games realism :D I knew it was gonna be a sort of half way point between more mil sim type stuff and arcade twitch shooters but damn. theres wayyyy to much running going on...

And I don't have any way of telling them its by mistake. Feeling guilty about it, I leave the game. I want to play and get good, but I know I'll do this again. It genuinely sucks , to me and the victim. :(
I'd rather support the team than carry the damn game cause of the headaches i'm getting. Too much stress when the team counting on you. And i'm at the first spot in the scoreboard most of the time I guess take one lose for another.
OBJ is not meant to be said as an acronym, it’s short for objective. It’s called “military short hand”. It enables quick note taking and easier to read op orders or maps etc. It takes longer to say the entire acronym than just to say objective 😂
It's pretty basic. Light and heavy armour generally offer the same protection against 5.56mm and 7.62mm rifle rounds - one shot stopped, next shot dead. Heavy armour offers more protection against explosives. I've emptied an entire magazine of 9mm Tariq rounds into an ememy's heavy armour and he stayed up, too. The speed benefit you get from being lightweight from no armour at all is worthy of consideration. Helmet cosmetic items offer no protection against head-shots.
Great video but just have to say that the whole point of abbreviations is to make a word shorter and while "obj" is shorter in written form actually saying "oobeejaay" is about as long if not longer than just saying "object".

The easiest way for me to do the sprint cancel is by tapping A or D from the sprint with crouch. This makes it to where you never slide on accident by doing a tiny sidestep into the crouch. It doesnt add time to the cancel and generally i win all my sprint cancel fights.
As a insurgency:sandstorm veteran( +1.1k hours) i completely agree, those are all great tips but you missed probably the most important one - learning the map

I'm still learning how recoil control. Im used to controller where you pull down immeadiately to control recoil. Do you let a few bullets fly before compensating for recoil on a mouse?

did the same much easier i found slide to be annoying

slide saved my life quite a few times. i usually slide across chokepoints that are camped by snipers. sprinting is just too slow

mix up your play style. Play slower or play faster. Don't stay out in the open. Take cover and focus on aiming.
