@@gstongs Glen, I always look forward to your post and have learned so much from your efforts! I truly wish I would have lived closer to your build so I could have helped! Happy Holidays to you and your family!
NY Sasquatch escapes PNW to Taiwan and forges port tongs, today on News at 5. Man, love watching you work. Wish I was as calm and collected as you at the anvil. Always feel panicked and worried about getting every bit I can out of every heat.
I'm guessing used for if the cork has the potential to break up into the wine... I don't know anything about wine tongs to be honest A thought on handling hammers, I tend to fit the handle to the head first and then do all the finish shaping afterwards, that way I can copy an existing handle on another hammer or make a unique one tuned to that particular tool Most of my handles are different because I finish shaping them all after the head is on (even the bought ones), its by far the best way for me to make comfortable working hammers.... I've had one or two people pick up my hammers and puzzle about why theyre all different but its nothing more complicated than tuning them to my hands and work style. I once made a left handed axe for myself and was very surpised to find that the handle was almost a complete opposite of the same sized right handed one. I'm ambidextrous with many tools so while I expected a difference I wasn't expecting a near mirror image.
Yeah, it could seem that way - that I'm a giant with how small the anvil is and me appearing to tower over it. But in actuality I'm closer to the shortest person in Taiwan! Thanks for watching.
There are practical reasons, cork in very old bottles can be close to impossible to remove properly, but this is more of a "trick" than anything else. Thanks Steve and Happy Holidays.
Very cool Glen, I really enjoy watching you do your magic! Great job
It's always a pleasure to have you around Robert. Thanks.

Haha! Good one. I think I'm not as calm as I might appear in videos. Thanks Gary.
Always like that Brass patina. Good job, Glen.
I've gotten away from the brass brush treatment and so need to bring it back some. Thanks Ron.
My god. Love the Artwork
Thanks for watching and commenting.
You make everything look easy
My forge will be delivered in a few days
Thanks for all you've done for the channel and good luck with your new forge and everything.
I always seem to get a chuckle from your commentary, Glen 😊
I try to add some humor when possible. Glad it's appreciate by some. Thanks Dennis.
Im telling you Glen "Wooly G's Blacksmithing"
You've been saying that for a while now. I guess I need to give this name some serious thought! Thanks my friend and Happy Holidays.
@gstongs hahahaha thank you and the same to you and yours my friend.
not sure why the tops are being cut off?
are they glass sealed when produced etc?
(edit) looked it up because the corks are very old
Yeah, I should have explained that but I've done this a couple of times before in older videos. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing your way of handling / shaping hammer handles. I too am ambidextrous, almost to the point of it being confusing for myself! Thanks.
@@gstongs I can definitely relate to that feeling...I wonder if thats why most people aren't ambidextrous
2:04 my vote is “the Tallest Man in Taiwan”

Very cool, but I still don't get the appeal or need to cut the bottles. I guess I am just too simple, lol!
I would guess that you might use hem on a broken cork

Your wire brush is looking like and old man losing his hair. LOL
I took note of that and bought a new one! Thanks for watching.
Why are You claiming credit ? These are hemorrhoid tools and are commercially available.
Haha! Got trouble, come see Doctor GS Tongs and he can use his magic tongs to get rid of what ails you. Thanks.
