This video has really inspired me to take action. Success is built on momentum, and each step, no matter how small, contributes to the bigger picture.

    Thanks so much!
I really enjoy your channels. To me, the hinge you built here is the ICING on buildings.
I love happening upon an old shed that has detailed hinges/ latches like this.
It gives me insight on the person who made them.
There is beauty in simplicity, but the soul of the maker is in the details.

yep be happily watching both channels, i think most of us who do our own metal work also do our own home improvements too.
i'll also be building a pair of doors for my shed too.

Fantastic job. I’m in the process of building my new workshop. This has made me think that I should make some hinges for the door, it’s in the garden so the wife wants it to look nice. Thanks for the inspiration. 👍

I look foreward to your videos, they always entertain and educate! I am amazed constantly by your skills as a smith. It is amazing that a lot of the videos you post correlate to a upcoming project in my shop, I need a new door and hinges as well!

Really like that you don't mind doing the out of the ordinary. I've started saying you are courageous. I wanted to mention that I purchased one of the high frequency induction heaters probably because I saw your explanation of the benefits. However I live in California and I'm pretty sure that our legislators are not going to try to perform their job to get us lower costs on fuel so I'm expanding my choices. Thanks for all the information you put on these posts. Serb

I really like the look of these hinges, the round head screws look good, I could also see some square head lag style screws, with some butcher work, could look good as well.
Thank you for the content you create, I always look forward to your videos, and I learn a lot, not just from your commentary, but from watching how you do some process or another. Thank you!

I looked at both options and frequently choose the square head lags.

Always thought you haven't been given enough good words for adding the little messages for shoo and personal safety.
John by now your advice could perhaps have saved California if only they had spread your safety teachings
Hopefully you have taught someone who might carry the message of safety next.
Do know I've listened to most of your advice and believe many Smiths has been involved with less pain and property loss.
Agree we should design at least something just as we dream it should be done!
If you can't please yourself then you are a nut 😅
    Special Thanks.

I've always wanted to do big fancy strap hinges, but my shop is very open and has nowhere for a suitable door. Someday I'm sure I'll find a reason to make some.
