I have the combo with a 12". I need to have it restored. I got it for 50 bucks. I know what I got of course. I'll get her singing soon!

They weren't going for that at the time obviously but the Gibsons ended up distorting better than the fenders in the long run. Fender Distortion just sounds like it's going to blow up the Gibsons distort more musically

Your are right about that. Some of the Gibson amps from the middle to late 1950s sound like a cranked Marshall.
