Hey everybody, I wanted to comment to say that I have gotten this to work on java edition 1.19.4. I built it the way Grimm said and had to make a few tweaks. First, where he said not to put the block, I did have to put a block there to get the dispenser to dispense the water. And second, on the cow side, I had to place signs instead of buttons bc the water would wash the buttons away. I placed the signs on the blocks to the right of where the buttons were to ensure that the calves will still fall into the kill chamber. I saw someone mention this in the comments but didn't go into detail. A few things to point out, I don't think the piston with the block works as intended anymore or at least it didn't for me. What it does is destroy the water from the dispenser below the cows if the water is out when the piston is activated so I removed the pressure plate to prevent that. I added a button to the block in the back that's over the top of the observer tower and got my secondary activation that way but I have to push the button a second time to deactivate it. Also, I'm wondering if the purpose of the slab in the front of the adult cow chamber is to feed the cows? I'm not sure but I found it difficult to feed them with at most be able to feed three. So, I removed the water bucket from the dispenser and made the water permanent. This way, my cows are constantly bobbing and I can easily feed them from up top. I removed the trapdoor above the cows and put a fence post in its place to prevent myself from falling in and still prevent the cows from accidentally getting out. The calves still get pushed down into the kill chamber by the water and everything works well. For those that are coming across this video and still trying to build this, I wish you luck. It does work!
Mine is working fine, however, my hoppers fill with chicken and beef products but they don’t feed into my chests? Anyway I could have gone wrong? It’s completed as instructed.

ummm, I moved the cows at night. On my way back to my house I was attacked by a little zombie riding a spider. I killed the spider and the little zombie ran all the way up the steps to the top of my farm and went in the cow compartment. Is that a problem?🤣
So i put my cows in the farm. Im breeding them but nothings coming out to the kill chamber? Idk if its because i didnt breed enough cows since i only put 4

At 6:25 my dispenser keeps facing the other way!! And won’t rotate what do I do? The face is facing the chests and not the sticky piston. I’m on PS4! GRIM PLEASE HELP
press sneak and then you place it on any interactable blocks (ex. chests, barrels, repeaters, doors) you have to sneak in order to place on said interactable block, in this case, the repeater.

This is just an idea but you could build redstone minigames
This works in Java on 1.17 the circuitry and everything is the same just use signs instead of buttons to keep the water in

When placing the hoppers while facing the chest make sure you're crouching. it will attach to the chest and allow the items to fill it.

I think wait for the Babies to grow then kill them and I think feed the adults so they produce more babies
The water gets dispensed after the chickens eggs are dispensed and the water won’t retract back into the dispenser
