    #Hummus is versatile, convenient and tasty. I usually eat it with pita, steamed veggies, toast, injera and so on. You can make it and keep it in the fridge for at least a couple of days. If you make it at home, it will more likely be a lot better than the one you buy from the grocery store. When you make it at home, you know exactly what’s in it thus avoiding preservatives or additives like potassium sorbate or sodium benzoate usually found in store-bought hummus. You don’t necessarily have to use canola oil, instead, you can use your favorite best quality extra virgin olive oil. So make it at home!

    INGREDIENTS
    1 lb cooked chickpeas (2 cans / 450g) - drained and rinsed
    6 tbsp tahini
    3 clove garlic
    2 lemons - juiced or more to taste
    6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
    3 tbsp water
    1 tsp salt - or more to taste
    cumin powder
    pinch of mitmita or paprika
    parsley - finely chopped
    pita bread or any kind of bread
