The power of god should with ease be capable of eradicating the evil of shaitan but has yet to do so, maybe he's too busy to help he's creation to achieve his kingdom and is a jealous god or maybe he regrets giving mankind the power of thought word and deed

@@johnmicallef2627 hahaha clearly you haven't read Quran. Allah allowed Shaitan to have the power he does in the world. Allah has created in this worldly life the very dynamic of Shaitan trying to lure us away from the straight path. Life is a test for us and Shaitan is one of the obstacles. But you think Shaitan is a separate entity and Allah is powerless to defeat him, hahaha. Rather what would our life be if we had nothing to strive for and nothing to strive against? If everything were good and nothing were evil, what would our life truly consist of? There would be no choices to make. No reason to push forward and achieve. The very things which make us human would go away.

For those who think it’s this or that eg leave the country and go to a Muslim one.. don’t interact with them etc what you don’t know is that this is happening almost everywhere just because it’s not openly shown or is allowed doesn’t make it go away. Also please stop thinking it’s us vs them. Would you do the same if it was your own family or child doing it? You have no idea or clue. Just keep talking to him/her as they are still Muslim and keep making an effort to make them understand what they are doing is haram and wrong in both world’s. As a parent I honestly don’t think anyone is beyond change or that they are too far gone. Do your best and keep doing dua to the Almighty only He is the changer of hearts. Haram is haram. The problem is religious or conservative people sticking their head in the sand and refusing to understand that sexual diversity is natural and simply a part of humanity. When you adopt a religious ideology which refuses to change in the face of social evolution or scientific knowledge, you are stuck trying to justify faith-based discrimination as “the truth”. The Abrahamic religions, I’m guessing, are losing followers in some societies due to this inability to change. Simply pointing at your version of a god and saying it demands that only straight people get to have healthy open relationships makes less and less sense today when we see LGBTQ+ people contributing to the world, marrying, raising children and being good moral members of humanity. Trying to change sexual identity is pointless and causes trauma and even suicidal thoughts.

    1. You don't interact with them unless you have been forced to.
    3. If you have been forced to interact with them, keep the interaction as minimal and professional as possible. BUT we must treat all with respect and dignity as a Muslim. We are required as Muslims to fight our jihad, our struggles, not to be oppressed, that is OUR CHOICE and always remember to think in the way we are being taught in Islam. Oh, and NOTHING is impossible, improbable yes, difficult, most probably but mankind, all races have found ways to overcome their obstacles, good and bad to achieve goals, good and bad. Your choices define you, whether you give up or not. Insha Allah this gives you a perspective, a perspective and also inspires you to move on and up, but in the right way. Same-sex relationships have ALWAYS existed. They have been depicted in Egyptian hieroglyphics, Greek pottery, and Moche ceramic pots from ancient Andean civilizations in Peru. Same-sex relationships have also been described in medieval Persian poetry, including the famous Sufi poet Hafez, whose tomb is visited by Iranian religious leaders every year, who are happy to ignore their own contradictions. Islamic leaders need to get the idea out of their head that homosexuality is Western propaganda. That delusion will continue to harm society, it creates an atmosphere where to advocate for LGBTQ rights is considered anti-Islamic and treated as apostasy which in many countries equals imprisonment or death. Spare the suffering of LGBTQ people! Let them live a happy and healthy life, that is all.

Yasir Qhadi seems not to understand that sexuality is only one slice of a person’s identity. One reason it is proclaimed proudly by LGBTQ+ people is because they have been oppressed for centuries, in no small part due to religious discrimination. He focuses on the terms being used to describe people with different sexual identities, but tries to undermine their normality and sees the fight for equality as simply a modern construction with no precedence. Heteronormativity is exactly why a sexual minority which has apparently existed in societies for thousands of years at least. Islam and other religions have pushed ONLY one kind of relationship for millennia. LGBTQ+ people are challenging heteronormativity just as black Americans challenged Jim Crow laws and systemic discrimination. It’s about equality as human beings.

But wilfully forcing all "ages" to read, understand , comprehend and advertise indiscriminately to
    their "will/desire" is highly inappropriate.
In retrospect they need to understand people to have their own religious and physical stance they adhere to but are in comparison not publicizing to the levels.

      1. Did you choose to be straight? Did the sheikh? What age did it happen and can be just change it when ever be wants?
      2. Being gay has led people to be imprisoned, tortured and executed. Why do these people continue to be gay if this is a choice?
This sheikh should be utterly embarrassed and ashamed that he's preaching hate which doesn't even have a correct factual basis. The sad thing is, bigots who watch his videos will hear him confirming their views and praise him. They will go out feeling more confident that their bigotry has a sound philosophical basis.

Excellent explanation, Dr.Yasir, on this very sensitive issue. But in this present & modern world of ours, there're growing beliefs & acceptances throughout that suppressing the abnormal sexual feelings, beliefs, desires & expressions/practices are wrong and depriving of personal freedom of expression & of living the way of life chosen by these particular groups of people.
Furthermore, the society & the common laws of many countries now are accepting & developing towards pronouncing and recognising the desires and practices of these group of people as well, particularly in the US, UK & many other EU countries. Some countries in Asia are already considering amending their common laws to recognize the needs of these minority groups in their own countries similarly to what have been done in the western world.
Going forward, I guess we are aware that we can not change the changing world of our generation and beyond. We have to recognize that they are our fellow human beings of different sexual orientation needs and treat them with dignity, and let their issues be just between them and Allah.

An excellent answer, but it would help to have some practical tips. For example, if a girl in your class decides to declare herself a boy or a fluid gender, and calls herself Sam or Charlie or something, insisting that others use her new pronouns and her new name, what should Muslim students do? Go along with her delusions, or refuse to give an inch? Such kids dont want to get into an enlightened debate. They dont want to hear another point of view. Its "My way or the Highway" all the way for such people. They have the official blessing of the entire system to be aggressive and belligerent and censor anyone who thinks differently and accuse them of hate speech. How should Muslim teens tackle this?

As a gay man, I agree with the identity issue. The LGBT thing is a WESTERN identity. The flag is a WESTERN flag. Go to any gay place - it’s mainly white or is centred around alcohol.
What I disagree with is that sexual preference is something you can suppress like you can suppress a craving for sugar. Sex and attraction is central to the way we are that that vast tracts of the Shariah are about how we behave towards the opposite sex, and dress etc. So it’s not something you can just suppress and ignore. In fact, suppressing it would be highly dangerous just as a straight man or woman suppressing their desires would be psychologically damaging.
How to resolve in Islam? I don’t know. But condemning sexual attraction is not the answer.

This guy gets so many of his facts wrong it's embarrassing.
It's not gay people who created an identity of their sexuality. They have been forced to identify as gay because straight bigots have identified same sex attracted people and persecuted them for that attraction.
The identity was created for them and gay people now have common cause under the banner of LGBT to insist on equal treatment.
Women self identify and have a "feminist movement" because men have spent an eternity persecuting them.
People with black skin were racialised by their white oppressors.
Will this scholar condemn black people and women for choosing that identity? No. Of course he won't. Because those identities don't conflict with his ideas of Islam.
Being gay is NOT a choice. He provides zero evidence to say it is and neither does he declare the circumstances in which he came to choose his straight sexuality.
This is everything he got wrong in the first ten minutes of his lecture proper.

Feeling Gay isn’t a choice. Acting on that feeling is Haram. Allah puts fitnas for us all the be judged by. You can have sexual urges for a person of your same gender but to act on those urges is haram. Simple.

You're very intelligent Dr. But Alllah created some men feminine, why would you force his creation to act in a way Ala didn't design his creation as. Aren't you concerned that this may bring ala's scorn as he doesn't like to have his creations disrespected

If its your nature you wont be held accountable for it. Think of it this way, Allah swt wont punish you for the way you just exist. If i had masculine qualities and I was punished for it without doing anything actively, then that would be an injustice and Allah swt said that he has forbidden injustice for himself. You can only be held accountable for what you CHOOSE to do. If a man is naturally feminine then its not your problem, let him live. Its just the way he is and you shouldn’t judge them in any capacity. If its innate to you then its not a problem. Hope this helps🫶🏾

@@amyh9512 i mean if thats just the way you are. The way some men sit or walk might be considered ‘feminine’ or their hand gestures. They cant help that. BUT (which isnt even my point) if they try to enhance their feminity eg. Wearing makeup or wearing feminine clothes then that would be doing something ‘active’ since you actually chose to adopt those feminine attributes. You can see this in modern times too, some guys just act really feminine to the point where people speculate on their sexuality or gender expressions. (Edit: even if they used something inconspicuous as mascara then that would be an active choice they made rather than just naturally having lush lashes.) Thats not their fault and it’s nothing for them to change, its just how they are. Hope this makes a little sense! If not then let me know!

@Lord Farquaad where does the Quran make this distinction where it says that inate femininity is ok as long as you suppress the desire to show a physical manifestation of it. Or is it more to do with the religious leaders just not liking transwomen. Alot of what I see I'm religion is cherry picked. Like the Bible for instance says not to dress in the clothes of the other sex but it also is equally against eating shell fish yet many Christians make the center of their focus transpeople and not people who eat shellfish
