She was invited to Quincy Jones 85th birthday in London and this is the orchestra for his birthday and it is a rehearsal
12 years old and invited by Quincy Jones to sing at his 85th birthday in London's O2 arena. She calmly and professionally just nails it.
Quincey Jones made this musical arrangement for Frank Sinatra in the 1960's. This concert was very much last minute, it was for Quincey's 85th birthday, he was in England, so the concert took place in the O2 arena in London. Just days before coming to London, Angelina was performing in concert with a full military band in Norway, so having so many musicians behind her was not a problem. It looks like this was the only run through with the symphony orchestra before the actual performance. Quincey personally invited Angelina, and greeted on as she went on stage to open the show with this song. At the end of the show, taking the bows Angelina and the conductor were arm in arm, Quincey, on looking down, noticed Angelina's bare feet, he was shocked to learn the story. I'm sure that Quincey will be proud to hear Angelina singing the MJ song, Heal the World, this week!

I love how the fans give you info about the song, it’s background, etc right after you’re reaction. Here’s an idea: Set a notice of your show in advance for two reasons; 1. They can give you a lot of info in advance of you’re reaction, things from Angelina, age, song, etc that you can use before the song is played. And 2. You will potentially have hundreds of listeners ready on your channel as they wait for you. That can be a lot of fun for everyone. Anyway, food for thoughts.

DJ Pat Stone thanks for your very wise ideas. I have watched 100s of blind reactions to Angelina, and I have heard as much false information about her. In particular, I have witnessed false comments about her appearing in public in barefoot. In my opinion, some of the blind reactors are guilty of disseminating misinformation about the Barefoot Angel. Blind reaction should be applied to expose the politicians who lack common sense rather than listening to a performance by the music prodigy, Angelina Jordan.

@@sliceofheaven3026 Um, how to explain? Quincy took this song and changed the arrangement of the music for Frank Sinatra. Rearranging the song does not mean Quincy wrote the song. You just change some of the instruments and the tempo, etc.. There is another arrangement of this song by Ketty Lester that I really like. Not sure if it is here on you-tube though.

A favorit song for Angelina I think, and why would it not be? She get to sing it out loud you know, her biggest wish for her life; "- fill my heart with song and let me sing forever more".

She also did a music video of this song when she 7 or 8 plus she was on the American show the View after she won Norway's got talent and performed it. This one is my favorite because it's a little more grown up style.

This time she was bound by Q's arrangement. Sadly, the only video of the actual day that has surfaced is backstage cellphone footage in which Angelina is barely visible. I'm sure she was great at this rehearsal but the audio on this video is from the recording of the birthday concert the following day, recorded for radio. A version of the rehearsal video with the original sound exists but it was recorded on a phone and is much poorer quality

Now, it is true that they are rehearsing in LSO St. Luke's (as attested by the empty music stand to Angelina's left), which is a refurbished historic church in London that is operated (and rented out) by the London Symphony Orchestra… but this is not that orchestra. [grin]

Early in her career she was invited to work with big premium orchestras like the Norwegian radio orchestra and the brass band of the norwegian military. The latter even recorded a CD with her for their anniverery celebrations. It's still roaming the jazz charts.
Examples are "Back to Black", "It's a man's world" and as a one-off "Song for A".

I originally read that this was the LSO but it isn't. It's the Senbla Symphony Orchestra ( www.senbla.com/about-us ) . However they were using the LSO's Jerwood Hall rehearsal space

You guys should do her cover of Adele's Million Years Ago -- I just got done watching yet another reviewer brought to tears by that one. I had forgotten its emotional power, and her lower register work there is insane. 12 year old girl going way down to hit notes in the lower tenor range.
You should try compare this with the version she sang when she was 7.
Both are good but with totally different vibes. It's obvious how much she have grown.

Anyway, this was as you say a rehearsal and it was with the London Symphony Orchestra ( I think - someone correct me on that fact pls) as this concert for Quincy Jones's 85th was held at the o2 Arena in London. June 27th , 2018 - Angelina opened the concert singing this. And she also sang in a combined song at the finale of the concert Man in the Mirror (Michael Jackson of course)
The video you just reacted to albeit the rehearsal, has the live concert sound overlaid, because the video was taken by Mom Sara from the balcony and being just on her iphone the audio was not good at all. It was broadcast on BBC radio2 after the live event and that audio can be found on the web.
Anyway, glad you like this one and let's be honest, we don't expect everyone to like every song a singer produces and on current count, AJ isn't doing too bad in your books is which is great.

Glen, at the finale where everyone sang "Man In The Mirror" when Angelina sang her solo part, her mic was either off or turned way down, so you couldn't hear her sing. I couldn't believe it. The other singers got lucky that night.
@@keithserafy - Yeah - I saw that in Grandma Mery's video clip. And then when I find on an archive. org site on the internet the radio footage of the whole concert I thought great, I can now get to hear it that finale song from there and see how it sounded but to my dismay the recording from Radio 2 cut short that last song to go to the 10 o'clock news of all things. 😥. there were some big names at that concert but was so sweet and beautiful is at the end Quincy is stood taking his bows and he has the band conductor on one side and guess who on the other. Yes, Angelina. ( I know you most likely know this Keith 😄) and of course there are stills and pictures from that scene suggesting he hadn't been aware AK would be singing barefoot and as taking bows then noticed this with a look of amazement.
@@glenmorris135 Yes, I did see that & I believe it was Angelina that was helping him get around at the end. I've heard he introduces her as his daughter! I don't know if it's true.
Gosh!! I’m glad you get the title!! Absolutely HECK NO she doesn’t have to redeem herself. We knows she is AMAZING. In my eyes, the WH song, in NO way changes my personal views or thoughts on her being amazing at her craft. I totally recognize that she is still a younger (self) but I will and can not ever disregard the beauty in her voice. I also know she has a ton of fans and following, yet I know that I would be doing myself a disservice if I wasn’t honest. YES, I am, and FOREVER will be a fan of Angelina Jordan... this song was no redemption to anything if she already incredibly talented.... what’s left to prove other than her continuously showing us and proving her growth?!

You should hear her sing when she was 7 or 8 years old. Much different.
