- We interrupt your regularly scheduled BATB 12 matches to bring you a very special 2010 Unsanctioned Event. What is an "unsanctioned" battle, you ask? Have you ever seen the 1988 film Bloodsport? It's like that, but with more kicking. In this battle between Steve Berra and Billy Marks-a take-no-prisoners affair full of shit-talking and bad boy bravado-we find out what it's really like to live life on the fringes, outside of what society calls "a bracket." But the most important thing to remember is: Berra lost ten pounds for this match.

I miss those butter ass Mondays. Always came through with the tips for a broke skater like we all were at some point. I still go into the gas station and get a sus sandwich, put the cheese in the ice cup, the sus ham in the microwave and make a chocolate.

Loved seeing Berra ride. Just coming back into it after years of being out, I like seeing that the older guys are still in it and holding it down. The editing was awesome to to see the pop, land, pop, land in quick succession too.

Honestly, it was the quality of the game that totally chilled me out. So good. Two friends talking smack and having fun. The quick edit hides how deceptively long this game is. In modern editing, it would be a 10 minute classic.

This was the best/my favorite era of the berric I feel. The berrics has grown so much since and I'm super happy to see where they are today but these are the classics. I would watch this in highschool during class 😂 might rewatch the complete batb 1 now
