I’m thinking about moving to Indiana from NYC. I’ve lived here all my life and I’ve always hated it. I want to move my family somewhere nicer and provide a better life for them.

After living in Columbus for six years i moved to Bloomington I still get homesick Columbus is very unique

I was born in Evansville, IN, but it was during a move my family was making to Columbus, IN. We lived there until I was about 6 years old. Moved back to Evansville for a few years and then ended up in Sarasota, FL. I have a lot of memories of Evansville, but most of my memories of Columbus aren't really about specifics of the area.
My dad worked for Cummins and had his own chemical company for a while when we were there, and he coached little league football in Columbus. I have a lot of memories of events there. I remember the inside of certain buildings and I know the area well known for architecture. It is such a great location to other areas too. I remember going to Indianapolis for events and museums, and Cincinnati for baseball and football games. I have strong memories of the mall they had there. They had a really good indoor playground and a giant mechanical structure with a bowling ball that work its way through it.
I really enjoyed the video. Nothing looks familiar to me, but I think about the area and despite any changes, it's nice to see it through adult eyes. I'm also past ready to move out of FL. I'm just not sure where to go. I think about Columbus, but think it seems odd to back. I don't have any family there, so no real reason. It just seems better to try somewhere new, but it also seems like such a nice area with decent, affordable homes.

Greetings: I did not see any panhandle, nor homeless persons in this video. Did you see any, or were there none there that morning?

Awesome video! My family and I will be moving to Columbus from out of state. We want a more peaceful, quiet area great for raising our kids.😊

I would love to visit there. I majored in architecture in college and know that Columbus, IN has several buildings designed by prominent architects. I would consider living there but hate being too far away from family here in NC. But I sure hope to visit. Would love to know what the weather is generally like there.

@@SightsSoundsFlavors I live in Raleigh. It too is a great place to live but there is the issue of too much growth. Hopefully, Columbus won't suffer that same fate.

I grew up in Columbus and find myself missing it more every year, the last time i was there was in 1996. The downtown doesnt look much different, sad to see that Cummins Bookstore is gone and the downtown Commons mall is gone, but thats still the Columbus downtown I grew up in, Zaharakos is still there across from the former Commons mall.

It’s so gorgeous and because it’s in the middle of Louisville and Indianapolis, I think people easily overlook it. That said I think the locals are just fine with it being kept a secret gem. Thanks for the comment. I hope you can subscribe to the channel.

I have never visited Columbus, Indiana. Many cities across the country are in bad shape downtown. In many cases they did it to themselves. In Columbus, I see that there are no parking meters. Also, there is no county or city sales taxes. The Commons appears to be a great part of keeping the city alive. I see no homeless people living in pup tents. The courthouse has to be a big part of the city's success. Yes, keeping the streets clean and maintained is a part of it as well. Business cash flow creates more business cash flow. 62% of all business in the United States is done with companies that have 5 to 500 people working there.
This video did a great job of highlighting the city of Columbus, Indiana. And this was done on a Sunday!

I loved your comment!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make so many points and to articulate your points so perfectly. I totally agree with you. I think Columbus, IN, did it right. And you can really get a feel for a city on a Saturday or Sunday because then you don't usually have the City or County picking up after people. It's during weekend days that you really get a feel for how communities take care of themselves as well. I hope you subscribe to the channel.
