Absolutely. Do note that this has internal “parallax” style processing going on already between the low end and high end. The “Growl” is what engages the low end distortion and “Hot” is what engages the top end distortion. However, if you want more control, you can run two instances/tracks as you mentioned. Enjoy!
@JeremyFoxMusic I just set up 3 instances to control a mid drive as well, fk me man, this is BETTER sounding than the parallax. Sure you need to know what to do but hey I love crafting tones ^^

There aren't that many great metal bass IR (compared to guitars) so just that part makes it very interesting.
Thanks Jeremy! Love the tone. The character is in comparison to the BOD, which I have been using so far, totally different. Definitily need to change the EQ settings, otherwise the bass is too dominant in the Mix 😅

Sounds super crazy! Now the only thing I need to know is how to instal it or use it in FL Studio and I'll be recording in no time some stuff :D
having tried the plugin for myself, there's only one thing that i'd change: the irs. they sound good, however i wish they sounded a bit more clean, they seem to need a decent amount of eq to work nicely in a mix, plus there seems to be this weird roomy/clicky sound when i use them which is not very desirable ofc. other than that, its very solid and i love that is free (which also probably justifies the flaws i found)

Thanks! Nothing specific planned at the moment but there will for sure be some future mix related videos using this on the bass.
Awesome sounding plug in man ! Does the mix knob also affects the ir section ?or only the distortion?
@Jeremy Fox There's a bug with Output Volume resetting to what seems like default. For example, if I set the volume to -15.00 DB, close the session in Logic Pro X, and reopen it it will return to the default value even if the GUI doesn't show that. How I fix this is by slightly moving the control up and down, which sets it back to -15.00 DB. Besides that, it's a great plugin! Thank you for making it free!
Edit: Another temporary fix could also be to use a gain plugin after this plugin, but there is also a slight change in volume level when reloading the session this way as well just not as exaggerated.
Thank you for sharing this! This may have actually been introduce in the net version released today since I changed some stuff with the internal parameters (which the DAW was caching) in sessions. I’ll take a look and work on getting a fox out ASAP.

Hey Jeremy! That sounds awesome, great job you did here especially by making it a free plugin. One question though: does the plugin also compress the input DI signal? Or it is just affecting it tone-wise? If it does compress the signal before the tonal changes, is the compression different for either the low and the high end of the signal? Thanks!
Thanks! There is no internal compression. It is doing multi-band processing of the low and top-end separately but not compressing. If that’s a highly requested feature I’d be happy to build that in though.
@@JeremyFoxMusic I see. It still sounds awesome nonetheless. If you could add this request for a multi-band compressing prior to the EQ-ing processing for a future update that'd be great. I know that we can also use a multi-band compressor plugin beforehand, but I like the idea of an "all in one" solution better 😬🙏
BTW I was doing a little a/b comparison of the Growler with Darkglass and I think I have a new favorite now 👀

Killer Plugin!!! What are the settings on the bass guitar itself? Do you find the settings on the bass greatly affect the overall tone despite the plugin / amp?
Thank you! For the bass guitar settings, I tend to use the "Modern" setting on the toggle, bass EQ right up the middle, high EQ at around like 6 or so, and the pickup blend knob about even with possibly a bit more of the bridge pickup. I don't want a ton of bass coming off of the guitar itself (I know that sounds silly being that it's a bass guitar) but if I push too much bass into this plugin, or any other bass plugin/amp, the resulting tone is just too muddy. I'll use the EQ on the plugin or amp to add more low-end if needed, or even use an IR with a sub. Hope that helps. 🤘

Can't found vst3 file in reaper windows 7 x64. Only this plugin from vst3 folder not found
Is it works on windows 7 ?
I’ve never tested it on Windows 7 so I can’t say that it’s supported at this time. Here’s two things you might try though:
1. Most DAWs have a way of resting the cache for all scanned plugins. I would recommend resetting that cache and rescanning all plugins again. If this doesn’t work, try the next option.
2. Try moving the “TheGrowler.vst3” from “Program Files\Common Files/VST3” into “Program Files (x86)\Common Files/VST3” and then restart you DAW and see if it picks it up then.
If neither of those work then I’m really not sure how to help without having access to a Win 7 machine.

I noticed it doesn’t really change anything. None of those presets change anything, and even messing with the settings , nothing changes lol . Nice looking plug-in though
installation doesn't work...dunno what's wrong but its not even appearing on my mac
I was having this same issue. But i found out that it shows up in your daw if you do a plug in scan. So idk if there is a way to run it by itself but I am able to run it through my daw
