    I had a 2018 MT10 and it was a great bike. This new Honda looks styled even better than the MT. From my experience, Honda has chassis balance second to none. I had a CBR 600 and 1000 back in the day and could never fault them for ride and handling.

    Man, I think I have the exact same taste in bikes... I can't understand how Honda isn't releasing this bike in the US immediately. I've been considering a Yam MT bike or GSXS-1000 for a long time, but neither checks all the boxes like this new Hornet is looking like it will. I was even looking at the current CB-1000, and the Hornet sounds like Honda magically heard my grips with the current CB then fixed them for the Hornet. A Euro only release would be crazy, the only competition I can think of off the top of my head is the GSXS-1000. Fingers crossed 🤞

    EPA regulations in the US, and Canada will force Honda bikes to be vanilla, unlike Europe. The Transalp in Europe has more power than the models sold in the US, for example.

    What Honda needs to do for America is use their 1100 twin in a light weight chassis, you don't really need 150 HP, what is needed though is the 75 foot pounds of torque that the 1100 parallel twin would provide

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 3 месяца назад +1

      Would require a big reconfiguring. NT1100 (100hp & not USA market) or Rebel 1100 (87 hp) are other options based on the Africa Twin engine, and it's just a torque-biased mill, but nothing particularly exciting. Long stroke, low compression, probably pretty heavy crank and flywheel.

  • @Aussie_R6
    @Aussie_R6 3 месяца назад +1

    Still think waiting for the new R9 is the better option. As Honda has been coasting on their name delivering bland bikes. Though the 750 Hornet has been a hit with great sales numbers. The CB1000 Hornet SP will definitely out do the 750 Hornet easily. It's basically taking a shot at the Yamaha MT09 SP.

    In 2008 I purchased a street triple and about a year or two later I test rode a cb1000r. Turned the first corner, changed in to 2nd and I was instantly more confident on it than my own bike. I had never felt a gearbox so slick before. Ever since that day I have always wanted one. I hope it gets some great early reviews.

  • @DarkendBlack

    Yea,... I'm not really sure why Honda hasn't brought that bike to the states!? I feel any way that they would indeed sell really well in the states. most of the more veteran riders I know are into the torquey street bikes that sit you up a bit more comfortably aka naked. Kawasaki has a great line up ranging from the lower cc all the way up to 1000cc. Suzuki,... not sure on their naked line up, then of course Yamaha's line, that you happen to be show casing for us atm. So I would think that Honda / and it's infamous reputation for reliability / would bring a at least similar line up to the table. So I would think that this 2025 1,000cc would sell well too.

      @@CycleCruza Their innovation pretty much died in the early 2000's. They are an Africa Twin and Goldwing and Grom company now, for the most part.
      No 500cc dirtbikes, no V5 superbikes, no V4 anything anymore, no Blackbird competing with Hayabusa, no Superhawk or RC51 Vtwin anymore.
      Now we've got Groms, NC750X, Trail125, and 17 versions of a boring 471 parallel twin.

      I've always suspected copyright infringement has something to do with the lack of Hornets in the US. I think the old 919's were called Hornets here but with Fiat now owning a major portion of Christler and the Hornet name (currently used on the Dodge Hornet) they may have been more difficult to deal with and Honda may have elected to just not try.

      I converted a 2019 YZ450FX, NOT a WR450F. The WR450F has a soft suspension for woods riding and has emissions crap on it for a green sticker. The new YZ450FX has a soft suspension like the WR450F now. Also the new YZ450FX has traction control which I hate. If you can find a 2019-2022 YZ450FX. Those are the years with the stiffer suspension. The YZ450FX used to be a hybrid, a motocross and woods hybrid, reason for the stiffere suspension.
