It’s 2:30 AM, and I am in the hospital for the twelfth time since March with Stage 4 lung cancer. I have decided to stop the chemo and let nature roll me along. Thank you for this beautiful music.❤

It has been 6 years now from the day I came home at a late sunday night and found my wife had passed away in our bed. Not knowing this I got ready to go to sleep next to her. After kissing her softly to let her know I came home, I found out her lovely soul had left her. This song breaks my heart every time I hear it, but I still love it. It doesn't make me feel sad or lonely, but makes me feel the love I had (have) for the lady that had shared some of her years with me. She passed away at just 46 years old. I miss you my lady

That sounds like a very sad story. I am sorry to hear about your loss. Despite it was so much time ago I believe it would be wise to express my condolences. Judging by the fact you still remember and honor her memory after so many years I'd say that it's a rose that never died, as the lyrics of the song say. I hope that everything has been good in your life since then and that you are fine now.

My lady D'Arbanville, why do you sleep so still? I'll wake you tomorrow And you will be my fill, yes, you will be my fill My lady D'Arbanville, why does it grieve me so? But your heart seems so silent Why do you breathe so low, why do you breathe so low? My lady D'Arbanville, why do you sleep so still? I'll wake you tomorrow And you will be my fill, yes, you will be my fill My lady D'Arbanville, you look so cold tonight Your lips feel like winter Your skin has turned to white, your skin has turned to white My lady D'Arbanville, why do you sleep so still? I'll wake you tomorrow And you will be my fill My lady D'Arbanville, why do you sleep so still? I'll wake you tomorrow And you will be my fill I loved you my lady, though in your grave you lie I'll always be with you This rose will never die, this rose will never die I loved you my lady, though in your grave you lie I'll always be with you This rose will never die, this rose will never die

totally agree, sandra! very very very touching! i dont want to say this, but Cat somehow lost the way when he became a muslim, initially saying that he wont sing ever again! i'm glad he has now changed his view somewhat and is singing again! i think religion is a personal thing; it should remain personal and shouldnt be mixed with everyday dealings with people. sure, dont do anything that religion asks you not to, but dont go overboard. the middle way is the best! singing is love...religion is love....

Cat, Thank you. I used to listen to this song endlessly as a 10 year old in London in the 70's. It is so, so wonderful that this has been found. It has bought tears to my eyes to hear it again and sounds exactly as I remember it on the Mona Bone Jakon Album....
Who wasn't in love with Cat Steven's? Memories of our time of the past with this music touches my heart in ways I can't feel anymore in this present day and time.
Those were the days of wondrously creative music by Cat. He had the coolest look back then and the greatest hair! Lol.... I was so jealous of him back then...in every way! I’m glad I discovered the Mona Bone Jakon album back then. Most people didn’t and it was their loss. That was very fine music on that album.

had a friend in early 70's who 1st told me about this song, saying i reminded him of it He told me her name was also Patty. This is actually the 1st time i've seen this, or really heard the song Lots of emotion, lovely, as always
When I listened this song for the first time while I was only 13s , I didn't know English then. But the title of this song became my signature somehow. I jotted down 'My Lady D'arbanville' on every notebook I owned. I am at my 40s now and it is still my quote I wright everywhere:)

I'll wake you tomorrow
And you will be my fill
My lady D'Arbanville, why do you sleep so still?
I'll wake you tomorrow
And you will be my fill

Cat Stevens, il nous signe son souvenir du temps passé.
the music of the 60ies and 70ies was about the way of self knowing, that is why it's so high !
Beautiful love from Cork City Ireland 🇮🇪
This is my father’s favorite song and through this song I knew The beloved legend Cat Steven / Yusuf Islam ❤️❤️...
Canzone che evoca atmosfere antiche! Il menestrello Steve ci fa sempre sognare! ❤️

Definitely my favourite.
Dün keşfettim bu şarkıyı. Hem geç kalmışlığın hüznü hem de şeker bulan çocuğun sevinci var üzerimde. Thanks Cat, for such a beautiful song. ❤

I love him & this Track
When I listened this song for the first time while I was only 13s , I didn't know English then. But the title of this song became my signature somehow. I jotted down 'My Lady D'arbanville' on every notebook I owned. I am at my 40s now and it is still my quote I wright everywhere:)
