  • After an obvious imbalance in injector performance in a leak off test, bad fuel economy and excess smoke the injector #2 was changed with a reconditioned unit. The replacement injector was coded to the Ecu before test drive and follow up leak off test(that was curious in itself). Economy has greatly improved, smoke is all but gone and idle is fine. Engine still hesitant between 1600-2000rpm while feathering throttle so will look into replacing MAF. Clutch and intake manifold will be done in near future as DMF noise and clutch position and swirl flaps deleted but suspect gunged up intake after cleaning Egr and Throttle body

    Also John the manifold pressure sensor can get chocked up with carbon & soot from the EGR valve unscrew it remove it and blast out with carburettor cleaner

    that dead zone between 1700-2000 will be shit in the throttle body sensor. take the plastic cap off the bottom and clean the filth out and it improves it allot.

      Something else you can do is go to 0w-40 A3B4 engine oil. According to my live data it has freed up about 20NM of command torque to hold idle when hot and closer to 40NM when cold. It also allows me to get around 50MPG with a functional DPF in mixed driving.

    hello, my problem is that the car is fired, moment 5 seconds of smoke from the exhaust not burned pus and works unevenly at this time

    • @johncarroll9342
      @johncarroll9342  3 года назад +1

      If you have smoke that smells of diesel for the first 5 seconds it may need new glow plugs. It may also have injectors not spraying diesel properly so try adding a diesel cleaner to your fuel. It would be good to clean MAF & MAP sensors at regular intervals. Best of luck

      @@maciejkuzma8186 before you delete swirl flaps check your intercooler has no leaks. If your intercooler is leaking boost you will have poor idle, smoke and bad performance. If you remover undertrays you can inspect the intercooler from underneath the car. Other common issues with Z19DTH is Egr needing cleaned or Swirl flap control bar is not operating correctly. If the swirl flap bar is worn the flaps can be bonded open with instant metal or JB weld. If bonding the swirl flaps open, really clean well the area and cover the swirl caps with your product so you do not have boost leaks that will cause smoke/poor performance. Check you have no cuts or breaks in vacuum lines to boost control solenoid and from intercooler to throttle body. Anything can be fixed, the z19dth is a good engine. Also check your oil level is not too high as oil may be passing piston rings causing smoke/performance issues

      @@maciejkuzma8186 I would advise clean air filter, clean EGR valve and run a fuel cleaner through the system to ensure injectors are spraying correctly. When the engine is warm and driven hard poorly spraying injectors won't smoke but when cold they may. It could simply be condensed moisture being burned out of the catalytic converter, DPF or exhaust system when starting from cold depending on where you are in the world. Here in Scotland it is common to see vapour and exhaust gasses staring a cold diesel engine. Let me know if you figure out the problem, I would be interested to know if you find the fault. If you can do an injector leak off test, this would let you see if you have an injector issue or it is something else. I have an leak off test on my channel that shows I had a faulty injector

    What do mean by "coded"? Thanks

    • @johncarroll9342
      @johncarroll9342  2 года назад +1

      On your injectors they all have a code made up of numbers and letters that should be coded to the ECU of the car. It will run but perhaps not as efficiently as it could if not coded to the car. The number is located on the top part of the injector and most garages can code them in a matter of minutes with a professional diagnostic tool. In the UK they generally charge £40/50 to do so. Hope this helps 👍
