    Thank you for this video . I have a 2002 dodge neon. Shes my baby and been giving me a fit . Ive been able to drive frm 10 to 40 miles she would just cut off. She would sit from 10min to 1hr and start fine. It would try and crank but not start. Now i went to leave the pharmacy and barely scrapped my exhaust(i dont kno if thats even what happened now or a coincidence) she stalled and went to not doing anything now. I had to tow her home 😥. I turn the key and nothing happens. I dont even think the fuel pumps engaging. Theres been no codes threw any of this.

    So on my 2000 dodge neon I can just remove the air box and I can then reach the park neutral safety switch to remove and replace easily?

    Does the orientation of the Switch matter? I can connect it rotated 180.

      No it should not it should just screw in and the plug should plug on. Make sure the new ones plug and matches the old ones plug-in because sometimes aftermarket parts can be a little off especially if you buy my O’Reillys.

      Ya if you can take the key out ether the key is worn to much or the ignition is bad. Try first getting a new key cut.

    95-2000 is the same 2001-2005 Dodge Neon ES is the same. I got a trans wire harness off 2002 and it is different than my 2000 model.

      Well my 2000 is really a 2001. But in 02 I believe they changed the transmission system in the second half of the build for that year.

    Hey i gotta question what wpyld cause a car to be able to shift without apply the brake or having the car started? Any tips would be very helpful

    • @StansAuto83
      @StansAuto83  6 лет назад

      There’s normally a pin that engages when the car is put into park and pressing on the break would release the pen so you can move the shifter out of park. The pens are normally made of plastic and overtime they do wear out or break or come dislodged. She me newer vehicles are equipped with automatic sensors which are controlled electronically and sometimes the sensors can malfunction.

      Dodge Neon Racing & Stan’ Auto Repair its a 2005 and thats what my buddy said but it doesn't hurt to a second opinion. That would explain the noise i heard when i put it in park

    Hey i have a question about my neon. Was driving down.the road. It shut off and wont start and I'm being told it's a security issue. Is that possible?

    • @StansAuto83
      @StansAuto83  4 года назад

      Yes it could be. But that’s normally doesn’t happen when driving. Check your fuses under the hood.

    when this broke, did it start in any gear or no start?

    • @StansAuto83
      @StansAuto83  4 года назад

      No start. But some start in any gear. Just depends on the year.

    Hello, i have a 2001 Neon and almost everytime after i get it out for a spin, whenever i am stuck in traffic or in a red light, the car starts shaking and kind of gurgling and i fear it will turn off. I went to my local mechanic which told it was probably the gas pump and gas sensors (expensive shit), but still i changed those. After a couple months, the issue came back. i wonder if its a failed sparkplug (which everybody tells me my neon tends to have) or if its the IAC as people in this forum indicate forums.anandtech.com/threads/2000-dodge-neon-shakes-while-stopped-and-in-gear.309559/
    Could you please tell me if i could clean that IAC and how? and also, how could i check if the spark plugs are ok?

    • @StansAuto83
      @StansAuto83  5 лет назад

      To check it the spark plugs are working them all out pull the fuel pump fuse put one spark plug at a time in a spark plug boot the lay the plug down on the valve cover and have someone turn the engine over. If there’s spark then it’s good. Also make sure the gap is good. And is there a code?

      Stan’s Auto Repair Is it the one with a shape that a wrench can go on to turn it in the front of the transmission? Or is it the one big connector that plugs in the front of the transmission. It would be great if you could send a clear picture.

      Stan’s Auto Repair because I believe mines is a 4 speed. It belongs to a dodge neon 2005.
