Hi Qoves, I’m not sure if the same person that responds in the comments is the same person that speaks in the videos, But I remember reading a comment from you in a previous video that it’s not good to put too much trust in who the media calls the most beautiful celebrities because the media ranks celebrities beauty based upon their level of fame/popularity NOT their looks... So regardless of how they look if they are a big enough Star they will automatically be called the most handsome or beautiful.
Still cute to me! The main time I didn’t find him attractive was his teen years when he was in young Hercules. He had this ‘jerk face’ thing going on and even as a child I refused to watch the show because of it. 😂
Hes an unusual looking guy and a BRILLIANT actor and INSANELY BRILLIANT DIRECTOR!! OMG!! It IS Fascinating how he has been cast against type in KenDoll roles Just mysterious
It’s crazy to me that male celebrities can make it far in the business despite having obvious flaws and imperfections but to make it far as an actress you basically have to have otherworldly beauty and perfect symmetry :/
Marilyn Monroe was considered a beauty icon while being average looking and bear in mind she had plastic surgeries and she died young too and people thought she looked nothing like the "beauty queen" she was portrayed, I feel some people just are lucky, their aura is such that draws people towards them. And another fact that you are neglecting is Hollywood has had many handsome men, literally there are enough men who outshine their female counterparts in terms of looks, I mean just look at Johnny Depp, he looked prettier than most of his female counterparts, and yet they say "beauty was always a woman's aspect" (SO IT IS EVIDENT THAT WOMEN EVEN IF THEY ARE PLAIN LOOKING ARE AUTOMATICALLY CONSIDERED BETTER LOOKING THAN MEN) Julia Roberts has a big nose, yet she was considered the beauty standard in her time and even today she looks good, so I don't know what you are talking about!
@WINDOWS MINUS no the same, they are succesful, but are not considered beautiful, their success is not related to their beauty, with Ryan a lot of his success is related to his looks as he is a sex symbol(obviously in time he also showed other qualities). And the three examples are an exception not the rule as they are succesful despite their looks.
@@Adrian-dv9xx I do not see Anya at the same level of celebrity as Ryan, also she is known for her talent and unusual look(I personally like her), but Ryan is a sex symbol, it is unlikley a woman with so many facial imperfections(droopy eyes, long face, narrow eyes, thin lips, lack of cheeck bones) constanly be n the hot list. The only comparison I can make is Eliza Dushku who was considered very attractive despite her droopy eyes(and face I would say). Not to diss Ryan, don't find him particularly attractive but he does have his charm.
Well, I would mention those roles where he played characters in contrast of his hight trust appearance. "Drive" for example. I think such role's make him look even more attractive.
i'd also be interested in a video explaining why i dont find henry cavill attractive even though i can recognize he is a peak male beauty ideal and what little i know of him points to him having a pleasant or undivisive personality that i would happily get along with if we were in the same room together.... yet, no matter the role, he does not compel me in any way, even when the character (geralt of rivia is my personal example...i find novel/videogame geralt highly attractive) ticks all of my boxes. in other words, a video about the intersectionality of physical attractiveness and projection of personality (as such with ryan gosling) and how such things affect each other.
Ian has bad guy eyes. Like he always look like he has bad motives and those eyebrows of His ain’t helping. It really bothers me. They weren’t like that when he was younger.
A video on Ben Barnes would be interesting, especially comparing his earlier movies vs his later roles as a more mature man with his beard. He has commented on his interviews about how he is now being given more villainous roles
This question might be really stupid but how do you find out actual face measurements down to mm? The distance between the eyes differs depending on the type of photo lense used for example.
I'm alot a late, but the press at important events such as the one that picture was taken at use 200mm lenses which is about as accurate as it can get, within reason of course.
Weirdly, I think you've also described what makes Changbin from the kpop group Stray Kids "alternatively attractive" too. Although he is Korean, he shares a lot of the major facial characterics that Ryan Gosling has, like the longer face, longer chin, closer set eyes, some facial asymmetry, etc. Fans often say he appears much more attractive in real life than he does in photos. Personally I thought I found him more attractive than other members of that group because he looks more masculine than them, but this video shows that's not exactly what it is. (I also think Ryan Gosling is attractive, but he was never my type because I like dark hair/eyes.)
@@Patufm00 I won't say its obvious, but its there subtly. Her jaw line, cheek bones gives a masculine touch. Even Greta Gerwig the director has said she has a slight androgynous feel. Her eyes are really pretty its her strong feminine feature, this along with all her other features (including the spacings between) makes her often look like a 19th century portrait.
for me, Ryan Gosling is much more attractive than Brad Pitt but i’m not really sure why. i’ve actually never seen what people find attractive about Brad, but to be fair i haven’t seen him any films 🤷🏽♀️
I sgree! I think Brad Pitt just had really terrific PR! I know it isss subjective but i dont get the hype about his so called greatlooking Appearance. He IS cool and a great artist in the end tho. Kalifornia, WWZ and many other films - just incred bro WWZ
Ryan gosling just seems nice. It’s interesting how you can benefit and lean on other facets of facial perception instead of just hotness (thru masculinity, in this case). Trustworthiness and friendliness in a face can also get you quite far. I love watching your informative videos!! Thanks Qoves
I think the fact that he doesn’t look super intimidating is part of the appeal. Sure, a more intimidating looking guy like Ian Somerhalder is attractive, but he tends to appear less friendly and nice than someone who looks like Ryan Gosling.
I think that he looks sensitive and some women like that. I think it has to do with having the impression of being able to be vulnerable. I have noticed that if a man is a sensitive person with an open heart it's almost undeniably attractive to a woman. I have seen this happen before and not to mention it's sort of rare for a man to be so openly vulnerable this way. It gives a woman the chance to express the inner maternal or feminine aspects of herself. I notice that some women try to keep up with men in a sense that they learn to build either a tough persona or are reseved and slow to show any emotions. It's more subconscious than a conscious decision because of how the darker part of people exploit people who seem vulnerable.
I’m freaking out about how much that tiny shift in eyebrow length affected my attraction to him. I really had to go back and pause to make sure that was all that changed.
I really like Alain Delon. In some photos his face has a "serial killer" kind of vibe. Like brooding type of face and can go from a smile to menacing real quick. But other times he looks sensitive and playful, like in "Rocco and his Brothers".
Using absolute values of distances isn’t helpful when trying to assess the attractiveness of a face. Some people have smaller heads or narrower/wider faces. To adjust for that, the distances should always be compared relative to other distances. So it should also be applied to the assessment of an eye region like in this case.
I think he’s attractive to people because he’s kinda the ‘attainable good looking.’ His look is the ‘good looking normal guy walking down the street’ that you could have the courage to ask out and not ‘brad Pitt/model overly good looking’ so you think nah, I won’t bother asking him out he’s too good looking. I’m not saying us normal folks can just go and ask Ryan out haha but I just mean his look is attractive good looking normal guy but not intimidating attractive if you know what I mean 😅
In his newest movie "The Grey Man" he literally plays a high trust person - it is a very good movie directed by the Ruso brothers (Avengers Endgame +Infinity War)
ok but can u actually make a video where we can breakdown our own face according to questions or math or whatever. MAKE HIM SEE THIS!! i really want to do all of this with my own face lol
Thanks for this video! Two questions/thoughts: From an evolutionary perspective would we see women split in terms of what they find attractive? Eg some group of women (perhaps lower in social status) would find short mid face, prominent brow bone ‘UFC fighter look’ more attractive because it would harken back to the days of needing physical protection. Conversely, would another group of women (presumably higher in social status themselves) find men who look more trustworthy, high status and high IQ more attractive? In which case longer mid face and less masculine features would be more attractive? Seems to me like trust and IQ are better predictors of mate quality in this day and age... 2) Is longer vertical mid face also a predictor of trust in women? I remember a video you had of Miranda Kerr where her high width to height ratio made her more approachable and cute? Would this not cause others to perceive her as more trustworthy?

Hi Qoves, I’m not sure if the same person that responds in the comments is the same person that speaks in the videos, But I remember reading a comment from you in a previous video that it’s not good to put too much trust in who the media calls the most beautiful celebrities because the media ranks celebrities beauty based upon their level of fame/popularity NOT their looks... So regardless of how they look if they are a big enough Star they will automatically be called the most handsome or beautiful.
I don’t know if pale, thin, dark/disturbed “Stay”-era Ryan Gosling would be considered high trust... just tan, muscular, post-Notebook Ryan.
Still cute to me! The main time I didn’t find him attractive was his teen years when he was in young Hercules. He had this ‘jerk face’ thing going on and even as a child I refused to watch the show because of it. 😂
Please do a video explaining to dimorphic features, polarized and androgenic faces comparing with full masculine and feminine faces.
That's literally all the videos he's done so far, lol.
All this shows us that being imperfect is the key to beauty
Hes an unusual looking guy and a BRILLIANT actor and INSANELY BRILLIANT DIRECTOR!! OMG!!
It IS Fascinating how he has been cast against type in KenDoll roles
Just mysterious
i and i think many others would appreciate you guys talking about some non white/non european faces. much luv
Lmao very true! But I wonder if the would still talk about them in context of white faces anyways
Def agree. Rami Malek, Rhianna, Steven Yeun, Michael B. Jordan, Janelle Monae, Keke Palmer, Zendaya.. somebody
I one video I think he talks about how he’s not good at analyzing non-European faces 😢 it’s not fair
It’s crazy to me that male celebrities can make it far in the business despite having obvious flaws and imperfections but to make it far as an actress you basically have to have otherworldly beauty and perfect symmetry :/
what about Anya Taylor-Joy, she is unconventionally attractive and has wider-than-average intercanthal width while doing pretty good in hollywood
@@Adrian-dv9xx still very attractive
Well, I would mention those roles where he played characters in contrast of his hight trust appearance. "Drive" for example. I think such role's make him look even more attractive.
That's so interesting. Great work
In contrast you need to do a video on Henry Cavill or Ian Somerhalder who are so handsome it hurts to look at them straight in the eyes
i'd also be interested in a video explaining why i dont find henry cavill attractive even though i can recognize he is a peak male beauty ideal and what little i know of him points to him having a pleasant or undivisive personality that i would happily get along with if we were in the same room together.... yet, no matter the role, he does not compel me in any way, even when the character (geralt of rivia is my personal example...i find novel/videogame geralt highly attractive) ticks all of my boxes.
in other words, a video about the intersectionality of physical attractiveness and projection of personality (as such with ryan gosling) and how such things affect each other.
Ian has bad guy eyes. Like he always look like he has bad motives and those eyebrows of His ain’t helping. It really bothers me. They weren’t like that when he was younger.
@@arieluv615lol
A video on Ben Barnes would be interesting, especially comparing his earlier movies vs his later roles as a more mature man with his beard. He has commented on his interviews about how he is now being given more villainous roles
I love it when more exotic artists buck all the anachronistic stereotypes and WIN !
This question might be really stupid but how do you find out actual face measurements down to mm?
The distance between the eyes differs depending on the type of photo lense used for example.
A genuinely good question. I wonder that too.
I'm alot a late, but the press at important events such as the one that picture was taken at use 200mm lenses which is about as accurate as it can get, within reason of course.
@@marnusscheepers7242 thank you, this was the answer i was looking for!
Ryan Gosling is the hope for the guys that have long oval faces to be perceived as attractive by society.
Make a video about ugly people and how people percieve and react to them.
I never was attracted him until I saw him in movies. he is so sweet and kind
I would like someone to talk about Saoirse Ronan's feminine-masculine face.
yes! Ik someone who reminds me of Saoirse, but unlike the actress, her facial features and face shape do not work, making her look more masculine
Really? I’ve always thought she looked very feminine and delicate, nothing masculine about her in my opinion
@@funkystyle7249 exactly, she has a defined "masculine" lower third bit very feminine eyes and nose
To me hes been one of the most attractive celebs. Hes amazing
for me, Ryan Gosling is much more attractive than Brad Pitt but i’m not really sure why. i’ve actually never seen what people find attractive about Brad, but to be fair i haven’t seen him any films 🤷🏽♀️
I sgree! I think Brad Pitt just had really terrific PR! I know it isss subjective but i dont get the hype about his so called greatlooking Appearance. He IS cool and a great artist in the end tho.
Kalifornia,
WWZ
and many other films - just incred bro
WWZ
Ryan gosling just seems nice. It’s interesting how you can benefit and lean on other facets of facial perception instead of just hotness (thru masculinity, in this case). Trustworthiness and friendliness in a face can also get you quite far. I love watching your informative videos!! Thanks Qoves
Believe it or not, my mom went to the same church school and church class as him and was great friends with him
I don't think he's attractive in the omg way, social media makes him to be. He seems like an regular schmegular to me.
I think the fact that he doesn’t look super intimidating is part of the appeal. Sure, a more intimidating looking guy like Ian Somerhalder is attractive, but he tends to appear less friendly and nice than someone who looks like Ryan Gosling.
Plsss do Jensen Ackles
He's beautiful to look at 😍
Yessssss
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm quite sure that there's a saying which goes "I don't trust so and so, their eyes are too close together".
I've only heard that in Chicken Run💀💀 never thought it might acc be a saying lol
I´m obsessed with your videos!! I learn new stuff with every single one of them!!
Joseph Gordon Levitt next please!
We need a young Tom Welling video
I think that he looks sensitive and some women like that. I think it has to do with having the impression of being able to be vulnerable. I have noticed that if a man is a sensitive person with an open heart it's almost undeniably attractive to a woman. I have seen this happen before and not to mention it's sort of rare for a man to be so openly vulnerable this way. It gives a woman the chance to express the inner maternal or feminine aspects of herself. I notice that some women try to keep up with men in a sense that they learn to build either a tough persona or are reseved and slow to show any emotions. It's more subconscious than a conscious decision because of how the darker part of people exploit people who seem vulnerable.
now please do a video on female perceived trustworthiness
He is literally me.
I’m freaking out about how much that tiny shift in eyebrow length affected my attraction to him. I really had to go back and pause to make sure that was all that changed.
Eyes/eyebrows are pretty much what women mainly focus on.....I've seen this everywhere I go.
Next time could you analyse Alain Delon's face? He looks menacing and cute and the same time
That’s a nice way to put it. I think you’re right
I get the same vibe from marlon Brando
I really like Alain Delon. In some photos his face has a "serial killer" kind of vibe. Like brooding type of face and can go from a smile to menacing real quick. But other times he looks sensitive and playful, like in "Rocco and his Brothers".
Lorry Hill suggested that he had some work done, I'd like to see your analysis of his before and after photos.
Can you do more videos like this on female faces? I loved this video but you do a lot of male celebrities even though you audience is 70% women.
If he did more videos dissecting women's "attractiveness", there would be too much backlash...due to Politics.
I wish you could do one on Zayn Malik and Monica Bellucci
Using absolute values of distances isn’t helpful when trying to assess the attractiveness of a face. Some people have smaller heads or narrower/wider faces. To adjust for that, the distances should always be compared relative to other distances. So it should also be applied to the assessment of an eye region like in this case.
I think he’s attractive to people because he’s kinda the ‘attainable good looking.’
His look is the ‘good looking normal guy walking down the street’ that you could have the courage to ask out and not ‘brad Pitt/model overly good looking’ so you think nah, I won’t bother asking him out he’s too good looking. I’m not saying us normal folks can just go and ask Ryan out haha but I just mean his look is attractive good looking normal guy but not intimidating attractive if you know what I mean 😅
Wow this is one of my fav analyses so far! I like the look into the human psyche!
You should do a video on how Ian Somerhadler has an untrustworthy face
ryan gosling watching this video like 👁👁
He is attractive because he is confident person thats it!
i'd LOVE to hear what you have to say about Jake Gyllenhaal, Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon!
In his newest movie "The Grey Man" he literally plays a high trust person - it is a very good movie directed by the Ruso brothers (Avengers Endgame +Infinity War)
You really can tell a lot about someone by looking at their face
Do Matthew McConaughey next
ok but can u actually make a video where we can breakdown our own face according to questions or math or whatever. MAKE HIM SEE THIS!! i really want to do all of this with my own face lol
Imagine stumbling on a video of yourself so eloquently roasting why scientifically your looks deviate from the ideal lmaooo
Please do Kit Harrington 😍
I love how this video talks about Ryan Gosling's face as if he himself curated it.
Thanks for this video!
Two questions/thoughts:
From an evolutionary perspective would we see women split in terms of what they find attractive?
Would this not cause others to perceive her as more trustworthy?
can you analuce Marlon Brando?
Yes, Marlon!
Brilliant video Qoves
can you do some on people of African descent.
I think you should analyze Alain Delon's face haha
Great one actually
