Ryan gosling is a unique personality of an actor i liked his acting in the la la land ( haven't watched barbie yet I'll watch it soon ) and now i like him more as a person 🧡
ESTPs are usually stereotyped as energetic, loud and harsh people that would risk everything for a moment of a thrill , while in reality many of them are laid back, very caring and super cool to deal with who would also love thrill but not like the stereotype lol .
Stereotype can make us miss many types for other types in real life i was surprised when i met a real ESTP on person they're chill, sharp and funny that i thought he must be ISFP or INTJ but nope he was an ESTP .

I was part of the crew on his first movie Frankenstein and me, so at a time he wasn't know. He stood out as a very mature, humble and curious teenager. He was interested in talking to the director about all kind of subjects, not only about his role. I'm happy for him he made it so far, well deserved beyong his talent!
Yes, now as an adult, he seems like a genuinely friendly person and different from other actors. Still humble.

I watched this because I'm a bit envious of Ryan Gosling-not the fame, fortune, relationship, kids, talent-but his personality. He seems so comfortable in his own skin, self-possessed, self-contained, mellow, bemused, aware, and perceptive. He is pleasing but never people-pleasing, extremely in-the-moment, entertaining but not performing. He seems to just always hit the right note. I can't relate but I can aspire. (All this, and I think he came from a challenging family situation).

Its so fascinating to see that his personality is so strong from such a young age. Hes obviously an extrovert, unfathomably confident, and somehow completely unscathed by the harsh world around us.
his interview for the barbie movie was hilarious. he was asked about his character and he said nobody cares about ken. 🤣
There's this pervasive stereotype that ESTPs are meant to be loud, brash, and aggressive. While that may be true for some, many ESTPs are very chill, down-to-earth, easy-going folks. Too often people have preconceived notions of what a type should be like, largely because many tend to only develop their dom and aux functions, and neglect their tert/inf. Ryan seems to be pretty well-balanced in the use of his functions, that's why he doesn't come off as a "typical" ESTP.

I appreciate seeing examples of EP types who aren't the stereotype. I'm a classic ENFP and instantly like other people who are also authentically big and loud like me. But after watching this video, it is SO OBVIOUS that Ryan Gosling is a fellow EP type. I've always been drawn to him, both in performance and in interviews, but assumed he was an introverted type. I'll have to rethink all of the "quiet" ones now!!

Being an EP I'm always kind of fascinated with the EP negative stereotypes, something Eric brought up in the Pedro Pascal video. He is kind of obvious what he is, really well developed Fe, like Pedro.
I had an ESTP friend that had such well-developed Fe she actually mistyped as ESFJ once. People often forget the types heavily favor their 3rd functions, which in the ESTP’s case is Fe.
Yeah, people get this wrong a lot, I was on personality database and people were voting Philip DeFranco as ENFP because of Ne/Te loop, but his use is reverse order of a Ne/Te queen like Lana Wachowski.
All the Cornwall clips made me think he didn't spend much time there and didn't know anything other than superficial stuff about it. Because the only things that most people would know about Cornwall would be the papermill stink (now gone), bike path, hockey, and curling. And the main reason that a lot of people pass through Cornwall is the border crossing.
Ryan is known to have had a bit of a tumultuous childhood. I saw his sister with him in a Barbie interview saying she never had a Barbie, and he jumped in and said she was too busy being Barbie. That guys knows how to deflect attention away from a potential downer personal topic.

My wild guess was that he's an INTJ at first, but then ENTP based on how he presented himself and also having physical resemblance to a streamer I know. But I do see ESTP although I'd like to know how huge of a difference the two types are. Thanks for the vid, good content!

The typing made sense to me, my dad is an ESTP and acts very similarly. Myself on the other hand, I can’t definitively figure out my type. I usually test as a XNTP or occasionally as an INTJ. There are some aspects of all three that connect back to me. However, what stood out most is when doing the cognitive function tests (i did multiple) my Ni seems pretty high for a XNTP across all the tests I’ve done and to a smaller extent my Fi as well, so that’s confusing.
Of course he knows what everyone likes, he’s a Libra Venus in the 7th house, introverted unemotional, Capricorn moon 11th house, honest introverted thinking for himself, he’s a Scorpio sun 8th house, and Scorpio mercury 7th house (7th house fitting in what people need), extrovert Sagittarius mars 9th house, Pisces rising-mutable, he can fit into any mold he needs to

I've seen him typed as ISFP and didn't agree at all. I'm glad someone else finally sees him as ESTP.
Also can you make a video rather than on one personality, compare and contrast a few personalities in order to better understand the concepts? Still not clear on introverted vs extroverted feeling; feeling vs thinking , etc.
Did you watch the interview with his trainer about his abs and he said "no", it isn't photoshop and he is the easiest person in the world to work with. I love the video where they ask him if he is the biggest he has ever been for "The Gray Man" and he obviously is. When they asked how it was done he said, he had to eat less of what he really like and wanted and had to pick up a lot of really heavy stuff. He is so funny.
Hi Eric! I have a question for you. Do you think an individual’s mbti type can change over the years?
Not really! Your personality type is talking about some pretty core natural preferences and mental wiring which pretty much stays the same over time! However! Here’s two things can that can make it seem like your type “changes” over time!
1) you can be accidentally mistyped or it may take some time for you to know yourself enough - so maybe at a younger age you had one result and then eventually realize your best fit type is more accurately something else!
2) your functions can express themselves way differently with age and experience to the point where it can seem really different! I like using the four strings of an violin analogy - the four strings don’t actually change over time - but what you play and how you play with those four strings can totally change dramatically over time in meaningful ways!
