honestly outside of the nose I don't think he's had any surgeries, the browlift assumption does not seem to hold up when compared to other photos of him, the "before" pic chosen for that part of the video seems misleading. He's definitely had some filler to the lower eye area and cheeks tho, and as you say it was very subtle until recently (the cheek filler is more noticeable now)
Love how your videos normalize imperfections. Even in the most attractive celebrities have asymmetrical faces and things they are probably self conscious about. We are all human ❤
Those aspects actually add to attractiveness. Cameras don't have perception which is why we never see ourselves or others like the camera does. A so called 'perfect' face actually looks fake and strange because mathematically it doesn't fit natural body form. That's why mannequins look the way they do, they are exactly even everywhere. Don't think anyone wants to look like one.
Yes ! Agreed to these comments...and another thank you Dr Linkov for not making every person's unique physical deviations about something to be fixed. I find his left eye imperfection adds charm. Remember Lauren Hutton's sweet gap tooth smile. I love noses with a little crookedness. Of course not all imperfections add to attractiveness, but the thought of most faces looking similar has shades of a horror movie for me. But I think regardless this is starting to happen in our currentsociety. ..creepy !🤔
Yeah, I've always thought Ryan has a very assymetrical face but it doesn't take away from his attractiveness. Just makes him more interesting. Timothee Chalamet is the same
I'm glad you did a video on him. A bunch if us noticed how he looked very different at the Barbie premiere after being out of the spotlight. A pal who works at a plastic surgeon's office said during the strike her boss is super busy bc celebs are getting work done now that they are out of the public eye. She said that a lot of neck lifts have happened because they take up to 6 months to recover...
I notice Ryan cheek filler in the Grey Man movie. So he got them even earlier. I also think he get filler on jawline on and off, in some photos it look sharp in other it look rounded.
Yes! I noticed cheek filler at the Oscars. His cheeks seem super rounded when smiling and 10yrs ago they were natural and no rounding to them at all. Imho I think he should have left it alone.
I really wouldn't want to be a celebrity. Being scrutinized at every angle by the general public would give me anxiety. Luckily for me, I'll never be one.
I was wondering if he had anything done after I saw the Barbie movie. It’s crazy how you can just tweak a few things/get really subtle work done and look basically perfect! Margot Robbie’s work is very subtle too. They both looked so good in the movie!
that's what i was thinking. i think he was slightly frowning in some pictures and the other ones he was more alert or relaxed. i don't think it's a brow lift at all.
I'm really not convinced about using photos to make a determination about what was surgically done. Angles and lighting in photography make a big difference (as well as make-up). I recently had a facial, and the esthetician wanted to take some before/after shots after I was hesitant about the pricey procedure she was trying to convince me to go for. I ended up going for it, and during the photos, I knew exactly what she was doing. On the before shots, she put the light above me, which accentuates all the sagginess because of the shadows. After the treatment, she was taking bunch of photos at different angles, lighting in different positions, and of course, she shared with me the best ones, so that the before/after treatments showed a big difference. In reality though, it made no difference whatsoever.
Wow... I knew they messed with the lighting for photos to show off the work, but it didn't occur to me that they also show those exact photos to the client themselves 🙄
I also noticed the doc compared photos of Ryan raising his eyebrows to one of him concentrating. Or photos of him smiling with his cheeks looking bigger to ones where he wasn't.
Disclaimer: All these conclusions are just from images which can be subjects of deception. The lighting, their weight, the angle, camera lens, their state of emotion can all play a part in how someone looks.
I remembered him from Young Hercules and to me the rhinoplasty was always pretty obvious. With the pics you have provided, it's also quite clear the enhancement of the cheekbones, he looks fuller compared to when he was younger, but it was very subltle and well done because it's not so evident.
To me the nose-job looks quite subtle (sort of). He still has the bump when viewed from the side. It just seems like they straightened it a little and took out some of the width.
Very interesting analysis. I can see it when you point it out. If you haven’t already done them I’d like to see your analysis of Rob Lowe, Adam Scott, and Zachary Quinto.
Yes! I was just looking for a vid on Rob Lowe. I'm certain he has at least had work done on his hair. His hairline has seemed to come down a fair bit over time rather than receding among other things that have seemed to have noticeably changed over time rather than natural aging.
He went from a good-looking guy at 26-27, to an extremely good looking man at 30-31. Is it possible that more happened here? Or is it all because he slimmed down a bit?
Some men just naturally get more handsome as they age. However, I also think these celebrities have access to amazing photographers/artists who know how to take a great picture (and use photo shop to correct any errors) .
Most celebs will be getting all kinds of cosmetic skincare procedures done all the time, stem cells, radiofrequency, Ultherapy and these are just the ones available or known to the general public.
I can't see any change honestly, I think some may have been weight fluctuations? Either way, he's aged fantastically and whatever work he may or may not have done has been very subtle
But how can someone in their 40s start magically gaining weight only on their cheekbones whereas before his weight gain was in his lower face? Girl come on lmao, that's filler. No one's face gets that lifted and full ONLY in the cheekbone area and around the eyes with age.
He also suggested brow list when he composted two pics where he's furrowed his brows slightly and the other one he's not. A youtuber I follow, Alexandra Anele, did a video about speculations of actors getting buccal fat where they could've just be skinny. I wonder if he would care to talk about that. I'm not questioning his expertise; just know that it's all speculation.
I discovered Ryan with the film Murder by Numbers. He's a great talent. Very humble when you meet him & not your typical Hollywood leading man looks though very handsome. I like that.
I think around 2010, there was a chin reduction. I'm a big fan of Ryan's and I noticed his chin area changed back then. I wouldn't have guessed a brow lift at all. Great video.
True. His jawline looks more defined. When he was young, his face was more skinny and softer chin. But could just be some type of filler injected around the jaw line
When a new manager started at my work, it took me a while to work out why he looked familiar but in an odd way. I eventually realised it was because his cheeks were very flat that made him look odd. He had low cheekbones and not much volume in the cheeks when he smiled. Then I realised why he looked familiar...because he resembled ryan gosling with his facial structure. Tbh it's probably ryan gosling's flat cheeks and long chin that make me think he's not attractive. I think he's one of those people who become heartthrobs due largely to their charm and it just happens so their slightly above avergae looks help a bit. But I don't think he's immediately striking when you look at him
I don't know. He looks exactly the same to me. I can't imagine him caring to do plastic surgery to perfect minuscule "issues", he doesn't take himself that seriously. The changes you note seem to just be a result of various micro facial expressions he's making. He's a master of subtle facial expressions.
I mean yes, while I agree that he doesnt take himself seriously and wouldnt do this to himself. He is in the industry and those who told him to undergo those "minuscule microsurgeries" can be his managers.
Noses don't change like that. Neither do cheeks really , if you have no weight change. Neither do eye shadow and wrinkles. He certainly had some botox or sth like that, cause once you have wrinkles, they don't just go away on their own - unfortunately.
To be fair, going from 20 to 40 also means you MATURE alot. I hate to say it, but alot of people in my family think I've had plastic surgery because I've matured so quickly from 16-21. I grew taller, my hairline fell backwards, I've bulked up in regards to muscle, I've cut alot of fat, and lost my genetic double chin somewhat. My mother at 40 doesn't look the same she did at 20, infact I'd argue she's matured way better, and grown to look better with age. In regards to Ryan, if he HAS had work done it's nothing major. At least in men if you're lucky with genetics when you build massive amounts of muscle, you won't have 'baby face syndrome' which is not a real medical issue, but something people in the lifting industry use to refer to people who've gotten very ripped, but still retain a large portion of baby fat on ones face. I don't think Ryan has much surgery, I think he's just matured. When you're bulking, unbulking, eating healthy, being proactive, and using good quality skincare products you will look drastically different. It also doesn't help that we're looking at different pictures of him from different angles, but that's what we have to work with. I think it's probable he underwent a rhinoplasty, but the rest is lighting, angles, and different stages of bulk/facial hair. Maybe his plastic surgeon is some kind of wizard, but I don't think he's had this many operations done.
True. My face has changed a lot too during the past 20 years. When I was in high school I was 6'1", weighed 165lbs, and had a really skinny face, big nose, with no facial hair. Now that I am in my early 40's, I now weigh 195, am pretty fit, and have a nice goatee. I look more rugged and my face looks more full. My nose doesn't look as big because my face is fuller.
Thank you! I agree. I think he has had very little done if anything. When I started working out at age 30 my whole face changed because I leaned out and the muscles in my face developed differently. Plus you still go through the aging process every day of your entire life. This analysis is ridiculous speculation based on photographs that are undoubtedly photoshopped! Doctors should not be posting this, it's unprofessional.
No medical doctor should be making public comments about the faces of people they have never seen in person based on photographs from the internet. Full stop. But if you are entertained, I'm sure that's his point anyway. Enjoy. @@ArmenAdler
Once I saw him during the Barbie promotions, it was first time I noticed he had work done on his face. He looks good, but I could detect more fullness in his cheeks.
Dr., do you ever have to take into account the lens size of the photographs you're comparing, or are you able to automatically factor that out? I'm curious because I never thought about it before but when I saw the side by side at about 5 minutes into the video, I was confused for a minute about why Gosling's jaw had gotten so much wider. I was actually wondering if he might have been using exogenous testosterone since that's the only thing I've seen cause such a salient change in those muscles. After a moment, I realized that it wasn't the jawline, but rather every part of his face that was wider, and had to remind myself that a higher lens size will significantly flatten an image.
Jaw implants are v common for male celebs. Compare Michael b Jordan in The Wire to him now. Huge difference. He would have no career if it weren't for his jaw work.
I feel like this might be overanalyzing him. No denial that he has a minor nose job but I don't think he did any more than that so far. Maybe Botox near the eyes/eyebrow area to help with his eyebrow sagging but notice how it also goes away and then reappears over the years. Also Gosling has taken many roles where he fluctuates in weight (example: Lars and the Real Girl) and that really affects his facial shape. I watched one too many Gosling movies and every movie he's in, he's never at the same weight or build. In 2023, all I noticed in interviews is that he gets Botox around the eyes and forehead and his face looks heavier but like it's due to aging rather than filler IMO.
I agree with you- a lot of it is also due to his expressions. When we squint, our eyelids will appear more hooded. I don't think he's had a brow lift or filler. His nose also still has a dorsal hump, so I don't believe he's had a "nose job." It's possible he had the tip refined, but the hump is still there.
Same 😅 I've watched all his movies and in each one he looks different. I think could be bein shot at different angles and lightning but I clearly saw the filler in the cheeks in barbie, I think it started with the grey man. I've always liked him because he's not a "usual"
The thing that kind of bugs me about this is that they’re saying he maybe got this or that done, but the comparison photos are all different angles, lighting, expressions, probably taken with different camera lenses … of course his face is going to look slightly different. 🤷🤷🤷🤷
I have learned a whole lot more about medical terminologies, and human anatomy watching Dr. Gary Linkov videos in the past few months, than my entire 4 years in college.
I don't think he had a brown lift - in that image (5:00) his chin is more raised. I don't know about the rhinoplasty either. I don't think he's had anything done. His face is looking a little fuller in the mid cheek but I think that could be weight gain or just aging finally.
@@TheHilikus89 Many have done buccal fat removal also I always wondered how this model like hollow cheek look is being born with, and then I realized it's surgery lol.
the only thing i've really noticed was the cheek fillers. he looked strangely round during the barbie press tour, but he looks great as always! we love and stan men who take care of themselves.
@@jarie9375 I too thought there was nothing wrong with his original nose - I liked how he looked! I remember that I thought he was su h a good actor, and then suddenly didn't see him anywhere. I literally thought he had died, but he'd just had plastic surgery, and was pretty much unrecognizable to me back then. I think he'd land plenty of roles with his old nose, but they'd be different roles
@@lollsazz I agree 100% He looked more rugged with his old nose, his nostrils flared out a bit and that was sexy! But whatever makes him happy. It was definitely a career move to be more of a leading man. Yes, he was almost unrecognizable when he got the role on "Drive".
Seriously... I don't know how this guy can be so confident in his assessment. Take two pictures of me years apart and in some of them I look like a totally different person.
@@user-sn2cx7fb5w it's not invisible... he points out exactly what he is referring to. Also he is making money off these videos, i.e. incentive to make them
I am noticing that most of the procedures that are mentioned would be more likely for functional reasons than cosmetic, Ryan just had to have had really good doctors to make sure that it didn’t damage his looks because we all know that we have always loved him.
Doc explained the functionality of the procedures he suspects were done. Fixing the nose so that he can breathe better and removing excess skin/lifting the brow to see better are improvements in the FUNCTION of these parts. Given he is an actor, it makes sense to have more done to offset the visual impact of the larger procedures so to make him still look like himself rather than a real life Ken 😅
5:01 he's literally squinting in one picture and isn't squinting in the other. A lot of these are just differences in lighting and angle. I think you're overanalyzing in many of these pictures.
How can you compare two pictures and say with confidence that work has been done? I can take two pictures of myself minutes apart in different lighting from slightly different angles and my nose will look different. Not to mention years apart where body fat or other factors might be different.
He’s had good doctors. They understood less is more rather than hacking him up. I personally see myself getting a brow/eyelid procedure and a nose correction one day.
I think Cillian Murphy is the only actor I’ve seen who seems to have let themselves age naturally, tbh. Goslings at the very least had Botox, likely fillers.
I really like the breakdowns of all these videos!. Though with the brow lift thing his right picture at 2:47 and his at 4:47 almost look the same though years apart and one was "pre" brow lift.
I think some pictures weren't chosen well for a comparison..for example for the lower eyelid filler you took a picture on which he didn't smile, so the cheeks dont push up the skin, as well as with the cheek filler, you took a photo in which he smiled more so the cheeks look more like they're round because they're pushed up..
I am not going to lie - the lighting, facial movements, squinting, a nose flare, a scrunched brow, raised eyes, can make ANYONE look like they have had changes, depending on the photo. I really do not think he has had any surgery. A hair transplant, MAYBE. But I do not think he has had any facial surgery. Ryan's been in the public eye for quite literally decades, so he is going to look different as he gets older. For example, I grew into my nose in my 30s and didn't look the same way before. Some of these claims are ridiculous. But Barbie is out, so I understand the need for this video, in terms of getting views and perfect timing.
Gary @ 4:47 to me in the more recent picture it looks like there is a more of a sharper shape of his outer remind me of his face like in front of his ears and down his jawline I don't know what kind of procedure this would be but I just had to point it out it looks very sharp and defined compared to the before picture
Your videos are fascintating and interesting to listen too. I feel if you did Cameo videos, with people sending in photos of their friends to discuss, you'd make bank.
Hi, Dr. Gary & company! I have a weird hair loss treatment question. I know that vitiligo can be treated with melanocyte transplantation, and that moles (which are often clusters of melanocytes) grow longer, thicker hair. Do you think it might be possible to use this for hair growth treatments someday? 🤔
Ryan Gosling is marketed to be "The Dream Guy" it has became a stereo type ever since The Notebook, it's the same concept as Paris Hilton being known as a ditz. I feel like it's just a knee jerk reaction to say "OHH he is so hot" when in reality he is just above average. If people can separate his reputation from his appearance which I know is practically impossible at this point, and just try to picture him as a guy walking through the mall. He wouldn't exactly stand out, just like a lot of female celebrities who are over hyped would be the same.
Gosh look at yourself Gobbling. Ryan just fine and please put right pictures. There is a difference when you get your eyebrows together of just open smile. FUS all I can say is
His work was all so subtle that i really can't tell! Kudos to his doctors for keeping him looking like himself!
Agree 💯 This is my type of plastic surgery, organic enhancement 🔥
😳 He is only 42 & his had a lot of work done
honestly outside of the nose I don't think he's had any surgeries, the browlift assumption does not seem to hold up when compared to other photos of him, the "before" pic chosen for that part of the video seems misleading. He's definitely had some filler to the lower eye area and cheeks tho, and as you say it was very subtle until recently (the cheek filler is more noticeable now)
Since Barbie came out I could instantly tell he had cheek fillers. Maybe you need some glasses?
Subtle? His face is puffy.

I do think he got more cheek fillers in 2022 and it's so noticeable now s well
Some requests for you to do next: David schwimmer, Harrison ford, Paul Rudd
David Schwimmer?? seriously?!?
Paul Rudd is coming up in August
@@Marcel_Audubon😂
@@Marcel_Audubon he’s got a good line
@@drgarylinkov yes!! Paul Rudd "forever young"😂🎉
Hes so beautiful and perfect, I hope he doesn't do anything else and gets a Simon Cowell tragedy. Just keep aging like fine wine Ryan!
Once I saw him during the Barbie promotions, it was first time I noticed he had work done on his face. He looks good, but I could detect more fullness in his cheeks.
I don’t care what he’s done, he is amazing and just a great guy. His wife is one lucky woman.....
Looks like he gained weight for a role in that time
Jaw implants are v common for male celebs. Compare Michael b Jordan in The Wire to him now. Huge difference. He would have no career if it weren't for his jaw work.
Exactly great point ProfZ, I think the Dr's analysis is ridiculous!
Of course this guy doesn't take lighting, aging, lens size/type/angle, or anything else into account in his analysis.
Aging does that to our sculls as well. It widens in both men and women.
It's pretty obvious that he has done fillers for the Ken role.
Lars and the Real Girl is such a crazy movie lol
Ryan has always been very handsome and manly. Nothing wrong with a little tweak here and there as a touch up. He looks great!!
I'm pretty sure Ryan doesn't hide the fact that he got a rhinoplasty... It's honestly an A+ job.
I don't think he had a brown lift - in that image (5:00) his chin is more raised. I don't know about the rhinoplasty either. I don't think he's had anything done. His face is looking a little fuller in the mid cheek but I think that could be weight gain or just aging finally.
Could you do a video about Monica Bellucci and Naomi Campbell surgery analysis?More celebrities which are thought to be natural but aren't.
Naomi isn't she's definitely had a nose job I've seen her in real life I think she might have even had a face lift
@@TheHilikus89 Many have done buccal fat removal also I always wondered how this model like hollow cheek look is being born with, and then I realized it's surgery lol.
I think he already did Monica.

the only thing i've really noticed was the cheek fillers. he looked strangely round during the barbie press tour, but he looks great as always! we love and stan men who take care of themselves.
His procedure are subtle. Either ways he's handsome.
If you've ever seen Breaker High, you'd know Ryan's nose was COMPLETELY different before
and in the "believer". I honestly preferred his original nose. It was larger but I thought it made him attractive.
Glad you made a video about me
I think you sometimes underestimate what the angle of photography or facial expressions can do.. not everything has to be the result of the operation
The 2004 pic is from 2010
Seriously... I don't know how this guy can be so confident in his assessment. Take two pictures of me years apart and in some of them I look like a totally different person.

Yoo im glad you made a video about me💯🐐
Most awaited video, Thanks doc!!
Ryan gained a lot of weight around 2006 because he was staring in Lars and the Real Girl and they wanted him to gain some weight.
I am noticing that most of the procedures that are mentioned would be more likely for functional reasons than cosmetic, Ryan just had to have had really good doctors to make sure that it didn’t damage his looks because we all know that we have always loved him.
What, why? Filler? Brow lift? Smaller tip of the nose? Bleph? Functional reasons? How?
I'd love to see Ryan Gosling's reaction to this video, he'd probably be laughing his ass off at how absurd it is!
Exactly, I'm not convinced.
He's also a plastic surgeon so... it's a way to market himself... without any real proof 🤷
He always looks as if he's going to break into tears at any moment. Question, why do actors get work done so early in their lives? At 27? Really?
They get it done early so if someone does a flash back they think it's natural 😂
I'll have you know, as Ryan Gosling, my face is all natural.
Real
i see none of the changes you mentioned. this stuff is so subtle.
I like how he looks no matter what he does tbh
To clear everything up, No i have not had plastic surgery before. Its all natural.
He’s had good doctors. They understood less is more rather than hacking him up. I personally see myself getting a brow/eyelid procedure and a nose correction one day.
😆Dr. Gary is being hyper detailed on Ryan...let ken live his best life!
He’s gorgeous and I love him!
You are the best RUclipsr ever pookie❤
He looked the best in The Notebook.
Saw a recent photo of Beyonce and I think she's had a lift. She looks amazing!
Whatever he's had done, it was done right. I agree, it's so touchy for we guys. I know one who screwed up his looks with the wrong eye job.
I preferred his first nose. In my opinion he didn't need any change...
This is more evidence that basically every actor you see is probably doing something. There's too much money on the table not to. And no one notices.
I think Cillian Murphy is the only actor I’ve seen who seems to have let themselves age naturally, tbh. Goslings at the very least had Botox, likely fillers.
@@pukefienda very naive thought
He’s handsome, now and forever. I don’t care how many surgeries this guy did. Let people age beautifully and don’t judge them
Could you do one on Paul Hogan?
Thanks for this ❤
I hope to cause no offense but how did you get your eyebrows back? They look great!
I really like the breakdowns of all these videos!. Though with the brow lift thing his right picture at 2:47 and his at 4:47 almost look the same though years apart and one was "pre" brow lift.
He is wearing makeup in the movie and has a spray tan that contours him. If anything hair transplant possibly to combat male pattern boldness ?
I think some pictures weren't chosen well for a comparison..for example for the lower eyelid filler you took a picture on which he didn't smile, so the cheeks dont push up the skin, as well as with the cheek filler, you took a photo in which he smiled more so the cheeks look more like they're round because they're pushed up..
Would love a cosmetic procedure breakdown on this guy too dr!
I wonder if with time and gravity, my nasal tip will droop a little again even though I've had a rhinoplasty?
His nosejob was a total success, I think it looked perfect for him afterwards
Note in the early 2000s both his upper and lower lips increase in fullness.
Hi Dr. Linkov. Could you please tell us what Elizabeth Hurley has had done in your opinion? Body 🙏
very tastefully done procedures, if he had any 😊
was waiting for this one
If he had any nose surgery I think it would be for health reasons.
He sounds chronically congested.
OMG, peoples faces varies from day to day!!
Amazing video as always!
Your videos are fascintating and interesting to listen too. I feel if you did Cameo videos, with people sending in photos of their friends to discuss, you'd make bank.
Cool idea. At some point the line between doctoring and content creation blurs.
@@drgarylinkov I'm under assumption plastic surgeons are *swimming* in dough & don't need side gigs to make more.
Hi, Dr. Gary & company! I have a weird hair loss treatment question. I know that vitiligo can be treated with melanocyte transplantation, and that moles (which are often clusters of melanocytes) grow longer, thicker hair. Do you think it might be possible to use this for hair growth treatments someday? 🤔
I'm a biotechnolohist. There's a study on that, called "Signalling by senescent melanocytes hyperactivates hair growth"
@@lollsazz sweet, thank you!
Can you do Sebastian Stan and Chris Evans ?!
Yess! And Chris Hemsworth
Cant wait for my feel confident delivery!!!🎉
1:48 is it just me or do his lips look WILDLY different in this side-by-side?
Very Interesting. These procedures are way, way more expensive than i would have thought!
