Thanks for all the love on this video! Nightwish truly killed it with this song! I'm glad so many of y'all, that have been fans for so long, enjoy it even more than I did!! 🤘🤘🤘 (and I loved it!)
Tuomas said this song is about people we meet along the way in life, each person represent a island.. and the one steering the ship, Tuomas, or maybe you.. it could be your story right, but Tuomas proberly did write it as him steering the ship. feel some imaginarium vibes here, also some melody parts reminds a bit if the NW song Sahara, and the part singing Mad despair is very Scaretale.. i do think its a great song, i didnt catch it at first listen, i was also pretty tired, maybe thats why, but now i get on a journey with it, sailing this ship.. love it!!
I love all of the storytelling. I used to be a big medieval fantasy nerd (kinda still am) and so that makes me enjoy these types of songs from them even more!
NW can do everything...heavy and opera, hymns and metal rock...just name it. Tuomas can write all that. In here he has again a story to be told for the world and also think about it. Check "Master Passion Greed" - pretty heavy one. Or "Kuolema tekee taiteilijan" - death hymn. An so much between since 1996 ....demo. Yes...one needs many repeats to understand the versatile music, lyrics and even more - the message and meaning of the songs.
Fantastic, indeed. This is another of Tuomas Holopainen's masterful compositions... epic Nightwish, changing movement to movement. Floor's magical voice, Empuu and Jukka coming in on guitar and bass in the heavier sections, Troy closing it out on his magical pipes, and Kai Hahto murdering his drum kit. I'd love to see a drum-cam video of this. Please, Nightwish... give us at least ONE LIVE CONCERT of this new album. Great reaction and thank you.
Oh Nightwish can do heavy 😄 Master Passion Greed, Yours is an Empty Hope, Tribal, Weak Fantasy, Planet Hell are some of them. They also do epic and bombastic like Ghost Love Score, Poet and the Pendulum, Last Ride of the Day and Greatest Show on Earth. This is heavy, bombastic and epic all in one, which is a rarer thing in Nightwish. It's also one of the best songs they've done, IMHO, and would be a total spectacle live. Although there's no live tour for this album I live in hope that there'll be a festival next year that gets recorded and this will be in the setlist when/if they do tour again. I think this would probably replace Greatest Show on Earth as the set closer.
You like heavy Nightwish? Master Passion Greed or Weak Fantasy should be your next. Weak Fantasy can be enjoyed best in a live version (Tampere 2015). You don't wanna have anything else after those. But there will be. 🙂
Great reaction! Thank you for hopping on the Nightwish train! You are right on saying “this is an experience” - that in a nutshell is Nightwish! They are NOT for those who only appreciate “1 & 2 & 3 & 4” rhythm, where lyrics cover “my girl left me my truck broke down and I can no find my damn dog!”…and that is just the beginning! Tuomas Holopainen is an absolute musical genius; Floor Jansen is the G.O.A.T. in MHO! Enjoy the ride, you will not want to get off the NW train! Their music will blow your mind 🤯
The Poet & The Pendulum is the song I'd consider their "heaviest". It tells a very personal story to me that I can relate to in so many ways... That song has saved my life. Check it out.
Great reaction, thank you! This song takes you on a journey just like your life is a journey. I'm still thinking about the imagery, for example, the starbound quay, is that where we end up at the end of the song, when the visualizer has a little bit of color? There is another NW song, The Islander, about an old man at the seashore. He is done sailing, he is at rest. This song is the "what went before".
Excellent reaction. You’ve come to Nightwish on quite a strange route. Starting with studio videos and a really old live video. I think you are missing out on some awesome live numbers with the current lead singer Floor Jansen. If you like heavy then Yours Is An Empty Hope live from Mexico City or Romanticide live from Waken 2013 are a good start. Looking forward to your next Nightwish reaction. Greetings from the UK.
Thanks for being here! I'll check em out. I didn't plan on these songs specifically, they just happen to come out on my feed while I was on youtube so I got ready and just filmed me checking them out lol. My buddy from back home requested that older song. I'll do a more recent live heavy song here pretty soon
@@CasualReactions Ya, if you like the heavier stuff, those two, plus "Shudder Before the Beautiful (Wembley) and Master Passion Greed (studio only with just Marko singing). "Yours is an Empty Hope" has a little Easter egg for you. Use either the Wembley or Mexico City versions and avoid the cruise version of this song, the official video unfortunately, as the camera work stinks.
Next one “Yours is an empty hope” live in Wembley, please. One of the heaviest and with a little surprise from Floor 😉 ruclips.net/video/vyLsU7Q333k/видео.htmlsi=Opcfj5EYJQjyu0HV
Tuomas is the metal maestro for a reason. You got a fantastic, long, and GRAND adventure ahead of you. As for heavy, try Nightwish "Romanticide" live from Wacken (Vokken) 2013 😉
Please also try ,Planet Hell, Live at Hellfest, Yours is an Empty Hope, Live Wembley or Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, Live Buenos Aires. By the way...this was a great reaction👌👍 Kind regards from the Netherlands ❤
If you really love heavier music, you should try the songs Tribal live, Romantiside live at wacken, Devil and the deep dark ocean and You are the empty hope. Even after these, they have a heavy mood in the wholesale trade, but also a lot more. This rabbit hole is really deep and surprising. just when you think you've heard everything, you get something mind-blowing in response and you're left wondering what happened?
Great Reaction 🤘 You can hear influences from many NW songs for example Sahara. In my opinion this might be the best they ever released. It’s so good and everyone in the band can shine, and maybe this will quite the ones that think Floor is toned down in the mix. Greetings from Stockholm/Sweden
and yes, it's the one from devil may cry also bury the light is prized by a lot of music producers and like to do reaction on this also the song is 9 minutes long
It's not the heaviest one, but defintely one from the heavier side. Nightwish music is just like life, it has very different sides in it, and some songs are like a journey through everything you can feel. So the question "Are Nightwish like that?" is very hard to answer, just a yes and no.
Just want to point out , that it has been said, that every Nightwish song is different from each other, so it is not only Operatic/Classical music. Like also out of their repertoire following songs are more traditional metal with NW spice on them: “Romanticide”, “Yours Is an Empty Hope”, “Song of Myself” (the latter Half of the Song) and “Master Passion Greed” which is their MOST heavy and hard song, some say it is like Pantera with a twist - you should listen to these to understand the Bands versatility and ability to play any type of Metal they want to.. AND of course a Wacken 2013 Live version if only possible, for that show is the gem..
Okay, I'm an REM fan and a Nightwish fan. Not sure I can see where the connection is though. The only thing I could come up with is the vocal delivery - maybe an It's The End Of The World As We Know It kinda thing?
I couldn't come up with the words vocal delivery or 'cadence' on the spot. This is a really difficult song to convey thoughts about immediately afterwards lol
Whoah! Tuomas is really bringing out the big guns now. He is showing us inside his mind - and there are some REALLY STRANGE THINGS going on inside there. Musically, I think it is probably as unconventional and conplex as I, for one, would like to go. Once more, for me, Floor's beautiful voice seems to be drowned out and strained. This new direction Tuomas is taking us in is a little unsettling and frankly, not required. I think things have gone downhill since Marko left. If this continues, then it's likely that I will lose interest in the band. Sad. It seems you liked it a lot, but to me it is not what I have come to expect of Nightwish. Good reaction, anyway. Have fun.
@@CasualReactions I guess it depends on what other songs you like. I consider this easily the best single from the new album. For some, Master Passion Greed is the best song, for somebody else Harvest or Slow, Love, Slow. Nightwish should be considered a genre of its own.
Thanks for all the love on this video! Nightwish truly killed it with this song! I'm glad so many of y'all, that have been fans for so long, enjoy it even more than I did!! 🤘🤘🤘 (and I loved it!)
Best Nightwish song in years. It's fucking phenomenal
Absofuckinlutely!!
@@CasualReactions 🤘
Nightwish is all about an emotional journey. Highs and lows and very cinematic is style.
Tuomas makes sure Nightwish is an experience. He is a poet and a Maestro!🎸🤘 Even without the lyrics the music tells the story of a life!🎸🤘
This song realy grows on me, the more I listen to it. Now I love it! ❤
This was immediate for me lol. Everything I wanted from Nightwish all wrapped into 1 song
Tuomas said this song is about people we meet along the way in life, each person represent a island.. and the one steering the ship, Tuomas, or maybe you.. it could be your story right, but Tuomas proberly did write it as him steering the ship.

Love this musical journey ❤❤❤
Great concert opener 😁
Would be awesome with a full orchestra and choir❣️
Yes it would!
want to see it LIVE !!!!!!!!!!! the symphony orchestra is fantastic
That would be really cool to see this live! But in person lol
The maestro strikes again!!!!
Wanna hear heavy Nightwish? 😏 go back in time and do Master Passion Greed
Oh Nightwish can do heavy 😄
Master Passion Greed, Yours is an Empty Hope, Tribal, Weak Fantasy, Planet Hell are some of them.

@@CasualReactions TGSOE is perfect as a closer ;). This is perfect as an opener!
👍I could see it in your eyes, you were "touched"🤭 and yes, there are some other heavy songs. They have a very diverse repertoire.🤘
Haha thank you. I truly enjoyed the hell out of this song! It was heavy yet blended their styles from the previous songs that I've listened to so far
Great reaction! In 2 days the new album will be released, including a fresh video!
Thank you! I'll check it out
The new album comes out next week, sept 20th. A lot of early reviewers said that there will be a lot of great heavy songs on it.
That's awesome!!

Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, Kinslayer or Slaying the Dreamer from Buenos Aires gig for heavier Nightwish.
And Ghostriver from Wacken 2013.
This new album will be their best. Heavy in so many accounts.
SO far I've liked all 3 singles from this album
