I love, love the sound of her engine Hi Mike, hope your day has gone well & that moon is gorgeous.I'm glad you are there to show us # 5; no roosters or birds😪👋😉😎💥🏈🥰
Good afternoon, Carolyn; Thank you for stopping by and the comments. I agree with the engine road=r but the squeal of the brakes was a bit harsh on the ears today. Oh well. It has been a great day so far. The Nebraska women's volleyball team beat Wisconsin for the 3rd time this year to move on to the elite four in Louisville, KY for a shot at the national championship. The match was almost as good as watching Navy beat Army yesterday. We had a lot of wind here a while ago and that seems to have gone away with the sun setting. Anyway, I hope that you have had a great Sunday there. And I hope that you have a super Monday tomorrow. Please take care and stay safe! 🤓👋👍👍👌🌕🏐🏈👍
Good morning, David; I thank you for stopping by and the comments. Yep! The Middies did it good! Now to watch the Nebraska Volleyballers take on Wisconsin again. Have a great Sunday over there. Please rake are and stay safe!
Good Sunday morning Mike! Slightly foggy still and 31 degrees here at 10:06 AM Central time! It was nice to see Mandy working number 5 on the sleeper car this morning! I saw her come through the other night on number 6. Hope your weather warms up more out your way! Have a great Sunday Sir! I am here in the Heartland! Things are beginning to melt. Mark in Iowa.
Good morning, Mark; Thaks for dialing in and the comments. We had the cold air that settles into the river valley out here. It was 10 to 15 degrees warmer just to the west. Common for here this time of year. Mandy and that crew will turn tonight and work back to Lincoln. Then a return to Denver next Tuesday followed by some time off. I did see a lot of fog back your way, but it was at Galesburg. Burlington was clear with a lot of wetness. Even Kearney, NE was foggy. Oh well. Near on to the actual start of winter. Let the fun begin. LOL! Have a great Sunday back there. Please tale care, stay warm, and safe!
Good morning, Eolafan; Thank you for looking in and the comments. I appreciate it. Have a great Sunday back there. Please take care, stay warm, and safe!
Hi Mike thanks for the catch of #5 today. looking for a wintry mix here tonight but changing to all rain in the morning. have a great day and a safe one.
Good afternoon, Ken; Thak you for dialing in along with the comments. Hope that stuff doesn't turn to ice as it did in Omaha and other places east of there. We have wind. Just wind. Today and tomorrow. Anyway, have a great afternoon and evening back there. Please take care, stay dry, and safe!
Good evening, James; I thank you for stopping by and the comments. I hope the curling went well. I've spent most of the afternoon watching volleyball from Nebraska and have another volleyball game on to see who the Nebraska women will play next. Have a great evening up there. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning Mike. Nice group of passengers getting on. Business will start picking up this week. Welll you should be a happy guy this morning, navy won yesterday. Time for breakfast. You have a good day. 😊😊😊😊😊
Good morning, Gerald; Thank you for stopping by and the comments. It was nice to see that group board the coach for a ride west. Also nice to see those who detrained here. The station is busy again. Yep. I did enjoy the Army/Navy game yesterday. The right team won of course. If that had taken place in Philadelphia, the Admirals row (housing) on the base would have been partying till dawn. LOL! Also watched part of the Avalanche game and was surprised they won that game. Today, the Nebraska Volleyball team plays Wisconsin for a championship and a move to the top four nationally. I will be rooting for those gals from Nebraska again. Anyway, I hope that you have a great Sunday down there. Please take care and stay safe!
Good afternoon Mike from 53 cloudy mid Tenn. Breather from rain til tonight. You are right, those brakes are just about too loud. Don't forget remember hearing brakes on Empire Builder nor City of New Orleans going or returning. In fact takeoff and stops were pretty darn gentle except for near hit of a cow somewhere in N Dakota. Nearmiss or we could have had fresh steak that night. Elk, deer & antelope seemed to avoid train but not a cow. Hope your day is going well, I missed the Army-Navy game, how was it?
Good afternoon, Ben; Thank you for tuning in along with the comments. Nice to read you get a rest from the rain back there. Those brakes were really loud today for some reason. Shook all the earwax loose and may have loosened some other stuff in the cranium. LOL! I have to admit that those onboard were subject to that squeal. That Army - Navy game ended as it should with Navy winning convincingly. I also just finished watching the regional finals of the NCAA women's volleyball tourney with Nebraska taking Wisconsin in straight sets to move on to the elite 4 in Louisville, KY. It will take a while for the adrenalin to settle out of my system after that game. Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Anyway, have a great Sunday evening. And a super Monday. Please take are and stay safe back there!
Good morning Mike. #5 was a squealer today but nice to see the two stop for the passengers. I’m sure you enjoyed yesterday’s game, Navy walloping Army. Enjoy your Sunday, thanks and stay well
Good morning, Dan; I thank you for dropping by and the comments. Yes. I did enjoy that Army/Navy game. %The officiating left a lot to be desired, but the play was good on both sides. And it did end with the right team on top. Today, the Nebraska volleyball team plays Wisconsin for a title and a move to the top four in the national championship. I will be rooting those women on. Anyway, I hope that you have a great Sunday. Please take are and stay safe!
Good afternoon, Rockie; I thank you for looking in and the question. I don't have a set in stone answer but the two leading engines on yesterday's #5 are in route to Oakland where they will return to Denver with the consist for the Winter Park Express train. That consist is starting early this year and there is plenty of snow at Winter Park for the ski bums to shred. As I recall, those are the same locomotives that were used on the WPE last year. I have also heard by the rumor mill that the train is sold out for several weekends already. hat train will commence running from Denver to Winter Park this coming weekend. Have a great Sunday afternoon and evening. Please take are and stay safe!
Good afternoon, Damien; Thanks for looking in and the comments. I didn't get your greeting to Mandy this morning as they were moving the train to rapidly for me to get it in. Sorry. I'll try again in a couple of days. Anyway. have a great Sunday evening. Please take care and stay safe!

Hi Mike! It's Rockie. Is there a reason that you know why Amtrak is moving all the locos around?
