HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 окт 2024
- This guitar started out as a Fender Squire Mini Strat Limited Edition in vintage white... it was stripped down to the neck and body... everything on the guitar was replaced... the only original parts are the pickguard the PG screws.
Can a Squire become a King? The answer is clearly yes.

You could have played a little more!
I HAVE THAT EXACT GUITAR (without the $1000 upgrades)!!!!! It has been, and will continue to be wonderful, beautiful wall art... BUT, Fender has just introduced a Mini Jazzmaster HH! I could do 4 or 5 upgrades $200 at a time spread out over a year or so. I love my Rick 325. The scale lengths are about the same, and this would cost me a lot less than my 325 did. And BONUS, I wouldn't be afraid to play this. A Jazzmaster Mini can easily be repaired or replaced!
Thought u were going to play it for us??
Did you ever play a Fernandes Sustainer, Jimmy? They're amazing!
Goooo jimmy
Your the man!!!!!!love your
Long hair!
*Fadernight appreciate your videos Listening 🌟 from UFO my guitars Mass USA TYVM 💙 Jimmy Church*
Hey Jimmy, I think I may have been abducted while watching this clip and I want to report some missing time.
I totally missed the part where you played that awesome tune, again!!🎸😃#f2b Great story though. Cheers, @Stu79fe
Loved this content I've known about fade to black for a while now awesome show. Also knew of you're love of guitars if you could get into some stories of the sunset strip I think could be interesting.🤔
Yeah you know you're sick guy yeah you know you should about the guitars I'm like I'm impressed I can't play for s*** but I know technical s*** about it too, yeah you did a real job on that
If you’ve modded the guitar to such an improvement with all fender licensed products I cannot see why you can’t swap the decal. If anything its only positive representation for fender.
Seeing your collection / artwork inspired me to dig out my acustic out the closet. Thanks Mr Church love all that you do!!
Oh come on now Jimmy! I watched this vid hoping to see you letting rip on the fretboard!! Give us more than a few notes brother!
Interesting project tho
Amazing sounds awesome!!!
At least play the dame thing. Jimmy
thank you this is the video I needed. lots of people have done this to their minis but no one has documented it as well as you. they only make videos on upgrading the tuners
.
Would you be willing to do another body? I’ve been building a mini and I want a trem in it to match my full size, anyway you could give me a quote?
I have a mini strat that came with a trem. It’s buried in one of my guitar rooms,so I can’t tell you who made it.I changed everything on it,but unfortunately never strung it up😂 I also have a mini tele that I had on my guitar channel that I modded.I would love to see a mini with a Floyd rose ❤
i just have a serious aversion to boltons... neck thru for me... really the only thing that changes the sustain and tone is neck attachment style
You could also add another pot to match a fender, but you would need a custom pickguard with mini knobs
After that really cool explanation of how you transformed the guitar it would have been even cooler to hear you play it for a while so we could hear what you were describing. Otherwise, it's just a cool story.
I'm with you on that one. We got a 5 note demo, or maybe 6. All talk and no action. Close to$700 in parts plus whatever the tech charged for the trem mod and new tusq nut additions. His demo started out sounding good about the time he stopped. And the main reason I watched this is because I have a Squier Mini Strat Im wanting to upgrade, tuners and saddles, Tusq Nut for sure, maybe better pots and caps, and the pickups are actually pretty good I think......I had always wondered if someone had ever tried to install some type of tremelo on a mini-strat. And someone did, but I didnt get to hear no Whammy.
Hi....dont Squier Minis come in Rosewood or Laurel necks? Did you make a swap.....thanks
I have a Mahogney Baby Taylor, put Martin Grover Tuners and had a Pickup put in it.
Wat6ch your show all the time.
Always wanted to know about your guitars. We have the same taste in guitars for sure!
I bought my daughter a white mini strat and shouldve bought one for myself
Good stuff Jimmy !
Bought a mini p bass a couple months ago. I got real lucky with the neck. It’s silky smooth polish on the back. Others of same model feel rough. I do however need to change out the pots as they are cheep and one doesn’t work quit right. Quality control is obviously less with a lower price. But the sound is good.
Strat guy here. That's something I would not have thought about, but way cool project. I like it.
Hey Jim, I shimmed my KuFu guitar, with two Panamanian pennies, on my first guitar, in Cardenas. I also now, have a BC Rich Strat copy, that I shimmed with a quarter. It hangs in my bathroom, and I use it daily. I never thought of using wood and, cardboard seemed too soft... RU
What you know the jazz player instructor Pebble Brown's died
23 minutes and we don’t get to hear it? $1,000 to upgrade a $200 guitar, I’d be curious to hear what all that money bought you.
I am thinking of upgrading my mini strat guitars for my kids. I am glad someone tried it first. Sometimes you just do things for sentimental value
Makes sense to me. Why not!?
I'm going to love watching your guitar videos yes I'm going to love watching your guitar review can't wait for the videos at Thunder angles with the guitars at everything keep up the good job
Did you guys use standard sized pots and a standard sized 5 way switch? What nut?
He really can play. All questions have been answered.
I have one aswell is there a way i could get a blooprint to that route for the tremolo
You didn't play it. I wanted to hear it.
I wish Fender would make a high end mini strat.
I love short scale small guitars. They stay in tune once you change the strings to 11s 12s or 13s. The smaller the scale the higher the gauge!
I bought a Firefly LP copy. $189. It now has: genuine Grover Locking Tuners, Babicz FCH TOM bridge, Darkmoon Death Valley pickups, Hellparts truss rod cover and toggle switch washer. I even swapped out the knobs for gold/black versions. Next up... Jimmy Page wiring!!
I also just switched the electronics on my Squier 60th Anniversary 50's Classic Vibe Strat for a Mojotone CTS / Switchcraft / Paper in Oil Cap harness 😄
How do you like the Babicz FCH Bridge? I put one on my Fender MIM Cabronita Thinline. It enhanced the way the Fender Fidelitron pickups sounded. More chimes and harmonies suddenly jumped out.
@@jimdeavenport9952 I've been playing since around 88 and I noticed something that I really haven't before. When you play a chord you can feel the strings vibrate more individually. Normally, I think the whole bridge system just evens out string vibrations and you feel it as a whole. The difference from the stock bridge was, not surprisingly, night and day. The FCH is almost like having individual saddles. There's definitely a similarity to the feel of the FCH TOM and the single saddles I have on my Ibanez SR2605 bass.
that was great looking forward to the next one !!
I bought the same guitar. I got lucky. The only needed upgrade needed was locking tuners. If you want the real Fender mini you will get the MIJ Fender MST32 (Japan market only). 18" scale. I upgraded mine to gold trem/hardware with vintage locking tuners. It is the best mini in the world. It has your Fender logo and factory trem by default. It is even smaller than the Squier. Ton of them on eBay atm.
Bought the exact same guitar for $150 at my local shop. Thing plays like a dream. Sold my Jaguar Classic Vibe to buy this and to do upgrades. Agree! New tuners are a must.
Love Pat’s work. I bought a WLE bass from the Low End shop in TN. Pat’s build and Brian’s pickups and pre. He’s also painted other of my basses.
I bought one of these to finally learn guitar. Why the mini strat? Because my hands are small, my fingers are short, and I am double jointed. I NEED a guitar this small unless I want to end up with injuries. Lo and behold, NOBODY makes a truly quality guitar for people like me and, apparently, never will. I can't afford to go all out the way Jimmy did with his, but, maybe, those pickups could make a difference. I've added them to my Amazon wish list. Someday.... I shouldn't be stuck with a "tinny" guitar because of my hands, but the entire guitar industry seems to just write off people like me completely. And, no, don't tell me not to bother learning to play. I've suffered that bitter pill for 42 years. No more. (I've clearly reached the eff-it age - LOL.)
What nut did you use?
holly molly 🙏 💯😜
Thank You for sharing, Jimmy! Love this Guitar specs, and mods stuff. Have you ever 'Reversed The Input Jack' on a Strat? If not, give it a try. Have a good day!
Not yet!
Turned out very nice 👌
Thank you! 😊
yes it can!
👑🎸
Hella KOO!!!!
Thank You Jimmy, for sharing another one of Your passions with Us.
Cool review, I always wanted to do this to mine🎸
Cool Jimmy
I was gonna say you could by a nice American Strat for that money lol
