    That thing was built brick by brick! Absolutely amazing! UK's brick industry was where the money was at back then!

    That's a radio master can be raised and lowered by the winch on the end. Then you kept winding when it got that And it would extend even further into the air to get a better signal.😊😊

    You're in the storage area where they used to keep all the munitions. And guns, those winches you see on the Inside edge. It's how they used to get the munitions up to the surface for the weapons.😊😊

    The winch is on a radio mast for communications. The winch itself is used to erect the mast, and raise it to its full height.

    Beautiful! This used to be a small town with rooms with fireplaces and shops but also with defensive positions. It must have been very beautiful when it was built. If this were to be restored, it would be a refuge for future epidemics and also as protection in a zombie apocalypse.

    This place is absolutely awesome. Love that stair case going up. Don't like the fact that it surrounded by water. Love those fire places. the question is what did they use to create heat since they where in the middle of all that water. Kinda creepy below.

    • @VacantHaven
      @VacantHaven  3 года назад +2

      Yeah it was a fascinating explore. I guess they would have had ships bring in fuel for the fires as they had massive cranes and winches though the fort. Its all pretty much as it was left still

    • @ExploringWithBonnie13
      @ExploringWithBonnie13 3 года назад +1

      @@VacantHaven makes since a out the fuel but an aweful lot of work.

    Looks like a nice place to live. Dunno where i'm gonna get enough 75mm howitzers for the gun emplacements though.
    $750k? Lemme see what i've got in my piggy-bank...
    At 16:52 that's a tilt-up, crank-up antenna mast. As a ham radio operator, I've been wanting one of those...

    17;00 That is an antenna tower, not a winch or crane.

    buy it , great fishing venue, but get a more substantuil boat, one with a back up engine too, stormy nights out there can be real spooky, we was dragged up tide one night and had to cut the anchore line and ended up down near Hurst castle , scary or what.

    Please take note. Never wear waders when out at sea, if you fell over you would never get out of them or get them off, they would fill up and you cant get them off, so you would go down.
