Hi Craig, I grew up on Sheppey and worked in the Port of Sheerness throughout my 20s. Spent many a night shift looking over at that Fort, wondering what it would be like to camp in it. You have made my night!! Check out the secret underground ww2 underground radio bunker at Hollingbourne in Kent. You'd love it. Some mental spiders down there though mate 😂
Love your video,s. I,m a veteran and suffer from PTSD and I built my own gypsy wagon on a caravan chassis and spend most of my time traveling about in it. ( Mainly to get away from my nasty neighbour). Used to wild camp with my daughter years ago up in Scotland. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Craig - always a massive treat when a new clip drops…. Love the woodland based content but also the ‘specials’ ..abandoned boats …roundabouts (first clip I watched) …underground bunkers and now a sea fort Good to mix it up …classic content Your down to earth delivery, sense of humour and genuine love for the outdoors once again proves that bushcraft/wild camping is something that’s accessible to all …top blackberry picking tips as well !!! A guaranteed authentic experience every time - Legend! 🌲🔥🤙💯
You’re such a lovely guy , very genuine . I suffer from PTSD since my army days and I think what you’re doing for the cause is great. I’d love to do this type of thing again and talk about mental health . Great content and good vibes 😊😊
I have spent two years on a bike with a trailer and my best freind and I stayed at a lot of churches now and again something random. A lot in east anglia. But a memorable night in Abbotsbury In an old Abbey. Really thick walls was amazing with my uke. Shhhhh open all night.
I grew up in grain and have fished off it before, just be careful you don't get caught otherwise the coast guard come get you and take you back to sheerness
I really enjoyed your video. Whole place is that rusty looks like it is about to fall into the sea. When stealth camping I take the old 27 Trangia. Good in the wind and no smoke small and light weight.. Cheers Steve from Aus.
Only found your videos last month but I must say that me and the missus are now big fans, we watch your videos every evening whilst eating our tea! We are keen campers and your camp outs have inspired us to try stealth camping I am now scouring boot fairs picking up lightweight items to use. Keep on camping Craig you're an ace inspiration x
i find it amusing seeing what other words you call things.. like we say leash instead of lead for dogs. We say slingshot instead of catapult lol..im in florida, i have a buddy who lives here whos from south london i gotta ask him if hes ever been out to these forts
Just wanted say that’s a blast from the past! at 1.40 that old bunker/turret on the sea wall hasn’t changed one bit me and my mate used to fish there back in the 80’s, thank you bro
Just seen your Video on RUclips and thought what's this, looks interesting, low and behold i was hooked on your Knowledge on this Building/structure I found your video interesting and inspiring. You remind of the program years ago called "citizen smith" with Robert Lindsay the actor. Thanks for posting and keep up the great work "Dude" A.t.b Adrian
Another cracking vid geezer! Would have a real laugh camping out with you! See some artwork in this vid, shocked it’s still standing strong and hasn’t been dogged!, love the content, stay frosty …
Love this place many childhood memory's on grain fort when I lived out grain..never had the guts to camp out though..never used a ladder to climb up on the first bit though but I guess it's corroded a bit more as it's been almost 25 years since I last went out there..got to have the brewdog though top beer 🤣
I come from the isle of grain originally, I first camped out there when I was ten. Plenty of fishing trips out there and was even shot in the head with an air rifle when I was 14. In fact in the same part you were camping.
That's crazy, I had work in Isle of Grain a couple years ago and frequently walked along the coast during my breaks and wondered what this sea fort was like! Brilliant vid mate
I grew up in the Grain area and went to school down the road back in the 70's and 80's. This was our local party location as a youth and I spent many nights tripping and smoking weed to acid house music while being surrounded by water. Had many encounters of the sexual kind up there, so many good memories. Back in the early 90's we had many raves up there, we organised them so the tide came up in the evenings so police could not shut it down. Also yes there was a brick road and the mud used to be lower than the road, girls used to walk up to that place wearing high heels so it was in a better state back then.
Loved this video. What a brilliant place to camp... great location for your bed roll, behind those concrete barriers to stop you rolling off into the sea! cant believe you havent taken a fishing rod....
@@EastAnglianBushcraft well I love wild camping my self I live in Abergavenny South Wales and there are loads of. Awesome spots to go . Thank you for your service I believe thanking ever ex veterans and soldiers like your self bless
I knew the guy who owned it first privately and had it named No 1 The Thames, Simon Cooper. From memory I think he paid around £10K for it. Great video by the way 👏🏻
Tell me you’re an ex squaddie without telling me you was a squaddie ….”it pays to be a winner” words that haunt every squaddies pt sessions 😂😂. First video I’ve seen from you and you’ve earnt a new sub.
That was a really enjoyable bit of time out with you there, I like it when the tide comes in a sort of secure feeling about it and now your base, the traffic from the river constant and interesting and a just really good site with a bit of the chill about it , but i can see what you mean about the night-time shadows lol . very good one 5 *****💂
What a cool place to stay! Thank you for sharing it with us! Solid choice on the Brewdog, they briefly had distribution here in Cali and I enjoyed every moment of it.
spent many a night on there fishing back in the late 70s early 80s at one point if you was caught on there while the tide was in they would take you over too sheerness or so the rumour went it never happened to us in winter it did get fairly cold was often glad when the tide dropped so could get back into the warmth of the car for the trip home great to see your vlog as it brought back some great memories
Whe Hey' norbit 😳 what a place 💯🙏 brilliant bit of history, thanks for the info. Well funny when the scallywags unexpectedly arrived (ladder gone -boom 😳💯💯☺️ be sure to have a super blessed day ahead ✊🏼🤟🏻💯
That was eerie, when you mentioned the noises through the night and all of a sudden there's an unexplainable clattering behind you with nobody about, and you're all cool calm and collected. I'd be outta there!! 🤣
Really enjoying your vids Craig. I like to get out and do the odd sneaky camp myself here in West Australia. But, my 70 year old back would kill me if I slept on concrete on a thin foam mat, airmats all the way for me now. Good on ya though young bloke. Make the most of it while you can.
Haha😂😂 that knuckle dragger in the north face gilet lobbing that Boulder to impress his wenches.. priceless! 🍺
No wonder the pathway is in bits; it's gormless Twatts like him who are vandalising it.
No one is allowed to disturb me while I'm watching your latest video. I'm proper hooked. Thank you so much for all the effort you put in.
👌👌🔥💚
Subbed to this channel a long time ago just re discovered the channel I’m hooked again 💯👊🏾

You let a dog off its leash, but you keep it on the lead, sling shot & catapult are two different things, David mashed up Goliath using a slingshot.
if you walk the Peddars, you must stay in Castle Acre, great little gem of a place.
Such an interesting piece of history too
brewdog!!! my favourite beer man! good video keep it up!
