I'm still running Windows 7 on my Q9650 Core 2 Quad Extreme on an Intel DP45SG motherboard. Yes, it's an actual Intel Motherboard before they quit making them. I'm now being forced to have to install Windows 10 on this machine.

@@Obie327 Yeah I cannot complain I built this around 2007-08. It's a Core 2 Quad Extreme running on an Intel board. Throughout the years I did have to replace the power supply several times; typically once about every 5-7 years. Other than that yeah I can not complain. Then again I would do a clean install of windows about every 2-3 years, and when I did that I would clean off the old and replace it with new thermal compound. I think that's what helped to keep the system running for as long as it did. Oh and when I first built or assembled this, I originally had a 32 bit version of Windows Vista on it with only 4GB of DDR3 ram. Within about a year or two I upgraded to Windows 7 x64 and doubled my ram to 8GB. The only downside with this system is the motherboards support for more ram. It's maxed at 8GB. I can not go to 16.
