This is a stark contrast from folks on the other side of YT who say the devs just delay all the updates and beg the community for money. I'm not a player myself do to the controversy but it's nice to see DoD from a different pov for once. Not bad.
@jonaswerner8480 Yeah, it's crazy to pay people for the many hours of work it takes to even develop a game this advanced before it even done being developed.
@amberlebooker3943 Yes, if there weren't other _free_ things being developed alongside the paid stuff, that would definitely be suspicious. But complainers seem to want to have it both ways: Paid DLC before full release = "Scam! . . . Oh, it's balanced so people who don't buy can still be nested in 100% for free with better stats than what people who bought the DLC to spawn in get? I'm going to pretend you didn't say that." No paid DLC before full release = "Jeez, there's no selection of playables! Scam!" I mean, early _DoD_ was problematic on a variety of levels-no lie there. Whether current development is "too slow" depends on who's being compared to, as team size and game complexity matter. But at this point whining about it is practically a meme. There's a big difference in paid DLC before full release for a small developer and paid DLC before full release for a AAA company, and $500K five years ago does not a AAA company make.
@@thetimekeeper955 You seem to forget the fact, that some dude on RUclips litteraly recreated the game in a spann of 2 weeks hinself Apperantly without any prior experience in programming So yeah, I do see DoD as a fraud
@@jonaswerner8480 Less forgetting than being aware the alleged recreation never qualified as a valid argument for anything more than how much development a single person could potentially achieve in two weeks, since it didn't remotely satisfy the scope of intended gameplay that had been laid out for _DoD._ The guy was also a one-man team who didn't have to consult with or answer to anyone else, such as lawyers or KS backers who'd paid him money and had specific expectations, meaning literally every aspect of the development of his game was fully at his whim. I love how people talk about the game being a “scam” and stuff and proceed to act like all survival game devs are the same and are supposed to be pumping out content every week like other survival game devs and aren’t allowed to have delays happen unless other survival game devs deal with it like read the stuff on steam this is there first game 😭 like calm down just cuz a dragon cost 10$ dollars doesn’t mean you’re going to go straight broke and homeless after you buy it
I like that they are still developing and adding new things. Yeah, it is slow, but that's the case with all indie devs with early access releases. Just cause they got huge funding initially doesn't mean they magically become a AAA studio... and thankfully, cause those studios churn out crap nowadays that is cheap, appeals to super duper casuals, and lacks all the love and care it deserves. I was a Kickstarter Backer, backer number 6407 for $40... I paid for a finished product, and that's what they are striving for. People calling it a scam have no patience. Where the heck is Kindred Fates? It got 100k more than DoD on Kickstarter, and they don't even have an Early Access 4 years later... but we all know it is cooking... so I feel DoD going EA caused all the haters to come out... and I say who cares about them.
Ngl, I was part of the “the game is scam” train but after keeping track of the game by your videos and stalking the discord like creep. I bought it cause it’s starting to seem less and less like it. It now Reminds me of early day the isle. When updates got pushed back constantly cause of bugs or the engine didn’t work properly and so on. Now the isle is on a very sweet spot where it’s just constantly going up with more players and updates. So I can see day of dragon doing the same thing. After a few major updates maybe up to or close to the behomoths/elementals. I can see it snow balling and becoming hella popular which result in faster updates which would make more players join and so on. It’s just a matter of time and dedication. I hope the best for the game cause it got hella potential. The only issue I have with it is it’s mostly clan based which can become an issue down the road. So I hope they have some features to help solo/natural dragons or elements to better survive.
I hope to the devs really consider improvements to the early game especially when it comes to hatchling traversal and survival as well as making it more fun and engaging
Garbage argument. Just because they're not as bad as something else doesn't mean they're good either. The reason people got mad is because they lied about the release date more than once. Like maybe they should try something called "keeping a promise"?
@@ccvstudios1839 so a delay or unfixed date is a lie? If that’s the case then why aren’t u attacking AAA game devs for not releasing on time? Hypocrite also I wasn’t arguing, I was stating the irony

@User_1-r6t i do understand your points; i already wrote that in my og coment. But its not your game isn't it? You just pay so you can play it. So its not for you to decide what and how should it look and play.
@User_1-r6t like i also said. Pokemon and Assassin and all those repretive games do exact the same. They just want money. Thats the world about. And to make a good game and to pay for;... what did you wrote experienced employees?... you NEED money. A lot. Also the Servers need to be payed. You have any idea how much that all cost? Monthly. They just a small team also so it will take time also. Though i am not happy about the always delaying topic. Yes. Thats realy annoying. But they changed that last month.
