The first show I remember going to. There were others but that was first one to make such an impact that I remember it to this day. It was a small spot; an hour or two over the border in Wisconsin, with Bright Eyes+The Faint doing their first(?) tours. The Faint killed it, I hadn't heard anything like that live before, and then Conor Oberst got up there. 20 years old? _Maybe_ 21, but we were only 17 ourselves and I don't think he was even legal drinking age at the time. He didn't look like a 'kid', but he looked like a peer to a 17 year old. Ha, so yes he WAS a kid. Perspective is funny like that... But he did a great job, with some amazing mashups with The Faint backing him up. And then he did Sunrise, Sunset... ruclips.net/video/1aSXYNt8udc/видео.html He was singing _so_ powerfully and so... truthfully? He wept while screaming the end. I'll never forget it.
I know conor didn't write it but the fact that he covered it with such passion recently makes my heart so happy. I was so worried we would lose him a few years ago. Stay with us conor. We love you.
Bright Eyes covers are always on point. Hopefully not distracting Conor too much from wrapping up that new Desaparacidos album that we're all anticipating :)

Conor Oberst is maybe one of the most fitting artists to sing this song. You can tell just be listening, he feels it. A truly beautiful cover.
