  • Be prepared for all types of weather- coldness, wind, rain, or sun.
January is the coldest month in Lithuania, which is why it can be gorgeous with hills of snow, and frosted trees under a clear, blue sky. At the same time, nowadays temperatures vary a lot. It can happen that snow and freeze come for two weeks and then suddenly the weather changes to zero or plus and the snow melt. So check the weather forecast very carefully, since you might need an umbrella or a warm down jacket here.
There are plenty of activities in Vilnius that make this season interesting and special.
1). Skiing - Active Winter Fun at Liepkalnis
Located just outside the center of Vilnius, Liepkalnis attracts adrenaline lovers who like to get their blood pumping with winter sports. Snowboarders and skiers of all levels flock to the slopes to get the most out of the snow activities, even when there’s no snow in Vilnius. The longest trail is 400 meters but they’re all worth a try.
    LOCATION
    Minsko pl. 2, Vilnius
    2) Hot air Baloon - Flying over snow-covered fields and treetops, frozen lakes, and seeing the smoky chimneys of cities fade away all the inconvenience of lower air temperature. During the trip, the roofs of the city slowly change under your feet, and the cozy bustle of the city as well as the marvelous forests can take anyone’s breath away. For those of you who want to get out of the city and admire the winter nature - a flight to Trakai Castle is exactly what you need.

The Three Crosses Monument in Vilnius is a significant historical and cultural landmark. The site, originally known as Crooked Castle, is now a prominent hill in Kalnai Park. The monument commemorates a tragic legend involving three Franciscan monks who were martyred there. The original wooden crosses were erected in the 17th century but have been replaced and reconstructed several times, with the current concrete version built in 1989. The monument symbolizes the resilience and faith of the Lithuanian people.

Unfortunately, the sound quality from the walk on the snow was not that good. Thanks
