Damn man that’s some nice looking stuff right there I like that dark brown color on the wood. It’s sharp and clean it’s showing the wood in the light.

I'm not going to lie, this video was a little bit boring, it wasn't even what I was looking for until I got to the end, and that was priceless!

We bought a Bher water based stain for our lighter oak kitchen cabinet. When I started using the brush, the stain produces an artificial dark lines that keeps adding up on the surface. I was hoping that the stain will just deepens the wood color and its natural wood grains and lines.
Should I go oil base stain.
Why does the stain is producing a fake or artificial dark lines or webbings on the wood?
Are there wood varnish (satin finish) that deepens the color of the oak, but not creat very dark lines?

The stain looks rich. The paint is all one tone no variable . The stain and varnish finish is translucent allowing light to illuminate the wood with the stains adding color to the fiber of the wood . I love the varnish or transparent finish. I love to see all the variables of color in the wood. Otherwise you can use particle board and and just paint it to cover up all the cheap ugly. In centuries past real craftsmen would take meticulous skill with matched grain veneerers and make fine pieces that would last centuries with minimal care. Now days they sell garbage covered with a good paint job and call it quality. You will trash it in 5 years and go to IKEA and buy more particle board crap to replace it. Meanwhile I'll be scouring antique malls for real wood furniture that is a hundred years old to refinish and recondition to like new condition and it will be handed down to my children. Ask me do I like painted cabinet? Hell no! Paint the walls and put color into your real wood cabinets. That's what I'm doing even now as I take a break from building my solid wood cabinets. If it's "paint grade " it's the cheapest of the cheap! At 4:40 he said there is no such thing as a white stained cabinet... (that he sells). There are white pickled stain cabinets and they have been around for decades. Just google white pickled cabinets.

Is it possible to sand the surface of a stained cabinet and then stain it again with a different color stain? I have some kitchen cabinets that I am moving from the kitchen to my garage shop. I would like to change the stain color from a light natural oak to a dark grey.

      Hi Shea,
The name from the manufacturer(Canyon Creek) is Sable. It’s a medium brown stain with almost no red in it.
