I used 1 jar baby food (sweet potato) and 1 cup of wheat flour. Rolled out the dough, cut into 1 inch circles, baked 350f for 20 minutes, came out great. Made 48 pieces. Thanks for the recipe.

You could cook a fresh small sweet potato and add to the mix, it's more work but still good for the dog!

I used two jars of baby food (chicken and apple) and 2 cups of gluten free "flour" along with two tablespoons of peanut butter! turned out great :)

I use two other recipes when I’m making dog treats, one calls for banana flour and the other coconut flour. I like the coconut flour personally. Looking forward to trying this recipe with coconut flour not to mention how much I’ll save on ingredients. The other two called for 5+ pricy ingredients like coconut oil and organic eggs.
I think cooking and baking your own food and treats is healthier and cheaper than store products ! So worth it , and pets love it so much more !

P.S. You can store them in the freezer forever..and u can also put them in a food dehydrator and it will make them crispy, leading them to last indefinitely!!!
This is such an easy recipe! I never thought about using baby food. We have 7 dogs so we go through treats like crazy! I normally buy the Wellness Grain Free just because our one dog (she just passed away this week, rest her soul) could not have regular treats however the other 7 can. The Wellness treats are $20 a pop and we were going through a bag a week!? I’m glad I found your recipe video! Thanks 😊

Thank u for this great idea! I was wondering why you didnt add in a can of chicken, beef or turkey flavor baby food instead of just veggies?? Also..u can (and should) add in the collagen powder to add protein and collagen for their skin, fur, joints, tendons and muscles...and u can use a jar of sweet potatoe baby food and add collagen and peanut butter. Lastly, you can make these with almond flour or chic pea flour to add protein. Flour is not good for them, so I try to limit their intake of grains and flour. My dogs would never touch anything that tastes like veggies! Your dogs are adorable!!!

My dog loves some treats from swanson vitamins called 'brewer's yeast formula'. The milk bones I have been feeding her are getting difficult to find so I am looking for alternatives. I have some of the non-fortified brewers yeast and think I might try to make this with some of the yeast in it.

Most dogs can't have wheat, for those who aren't allergic it isn't very goof for them anyways.

Not true. It's a small minority of dogs that can't process wheat (gluten) properly and for those that can wheat flour is perfectly fine for them. Same thing with people. Some people can't have gluten, some can.

I'll use rice flour, many dog foods are using rice. And, I am going to try to microwave as my oven gave out, wouldn't you know, the worse time of the year to lose the oven~ Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed watching your dogs enjoy the end product. Seems you could freeze these, and they would be great use to stuff a Knogs chew toy

Does your babyfood include grape juice concentrate? What i have has that and i am not sure if that would hurt his stomach? Maybe i should say that my dog weights 2kgs (4.4lbs) :) he is tiny aı i am concerned.
Can you freeze them, how do you make the peanut butter treats thank you.
Add bananas yogurt and some peanut butter then freeze for a few hours i give them to all the dogs in my neighborhood and they love them and if you want replace the bananas with blueberry's and strawberry's thats what i do

I just made these yesterday 1/15/21 and although my doggo loved them, every single one of them puffed up in the middle. Was the dough too thick? Oven too hot?
FYI, oat flour is a healthier alternative to wheat flour. It is actually good for your dog and has many benefits.
