I have to admit, this was my favorite one thus far. We had treading in cow pats, Desiree slipping on the trail and so much laughter. A perfect hill walk. Great effort and most enjoyable.
I beg your pardon?! No using of Eds fancey wind measuring device? We demand Ed to tell us the wind speed on the highest spot on every walk he makes! Still enjoyed the program though! :)
Another great episode, Ed and gang! Desiree seems really sweet and easy going, having only ever seen her on panel shows. That's what's great about this series, the little window into these people's lives juxtaposed against the British countryside without pretence and without being contrived. And a backpack that's also a seat?! I want one!
When I did my Mountain Leader and Rocking Climbing awards to be an instructor, they were very much set on what the difference was between a mountain and a hill!
I am really enjoying these Ed. Learning more about celebs and the countryside ..awesome content. I would also be interested in your kit ( not a euphemism) as I am always trying to perfect mine .
Thanks Ed. Love watching comedians talk comedy and the work behind it. Love good hikes and nature, so big fan of shows like this. If anyone actually reads my comment; Another channel to watch would be "Hiking with Kevin Nealon". USA centric, and he hikes and speaks to actors also. Would love to see Ed and him do a collaboration one day. Each taking a stroll in each others countries.
Glad to see the end of this! I started watching the other day only to find the "uploader" removed the video while I was watching it. That process involved my screen locking like it was buffering, followed by some very fine swearing. Keep going, Ed. This series is excellent. BTW I'm an Aussie bushwalker, scrambler and climber, so am enjoying the variety of locations.
I keep being impressed with the audio quality of these. Well done. Also, love seeing the parts of the UK I never see when visiting because that's generally for conventions or work and those tend to not get you out walking on hills unfortunately.
You just use the word old English side-by-side with the word Celtic Celtic languages start 4000 years ago old English is like a sneeze in time all of English is only about 1500 years old never put those two together you look daft. The root word is very old it means Hill in the Celtic languages but this is a specific Hill you put the fort on is a dun. So technically in English you would use the word fort English has loanwords from hundreds of languages though so who even knows what the rules are when they were made up 5 minutes ago eh pretty much make it up with you go along. Englishes syntax for the Continental pattern all the words are in the same place and have the same meaning they're just different words by the way as a language nerd I have no idea when this got boring in a Celtic country I'm not a language nerd I'm your average if educated citizen outside Glasgow lol. comparing old English with old Irish or old Welsh would have been more appropriate when you're talking about Celtic languages you're talking about something older than Rome thousands of years before the English were even a twinkle in some ancient French dude eye.
Hi Ed, another excellent Ed Venture. Desiree was loquacious and had an interesting story and thoughts, glad to have understood her a bit more. I don't know how ardent a hill walker/bushwalker you are, a lot I suspect; could you maybe share some details on your preferred kit; packs, jackets, pants (as in trousers, I’m Aussie) boots etc. Info possibly with links under the byline. For future Ed Ventures I nominate - Tim Vine - he’s so very, very special. (the fourth Goodie in my mind). Omid Djalili. Jane Horrocks. Alexei Sayle. Sally Phillips. Maisie Adam. One for the future - You ... A talk with Ed, how come he’s so funny? maybe with ... Clare Balding questioning you. ... THANK YOU sir for your Comedy!
I wonder if Bill Bailey would fancy a walk, he's an adventurous sort! Also, I may be treading on thin ice, but the esteemed Brian Blessed would be a shoo-in for this series.
This series could do with just a tad more 'production'. For example the Devil's Humps are described as having an association with Vikings purely as folklore. They are in fact believed to date from the Late Neolithic or the Early Bronze Age - thanks Google! Otherwise I love the organic nature of your chat, punctuated of course with the 'career highlight' towards the end. And the views were a joy.
love the series, keep on with the edventure! Am still wondering what it was she dropped on the trail after the rains. Something flew out of her jacket and it looked quite substantial.
That's a Fjällräven backpack, exact modell i don't know but i suspect it's an older one since they don't display their logo in that exact way on their current modells but a Fjällräven Singi Stubben with additional side pockets would come close I think
@@edventuring9092 Speaking of which, may I have some info on the bag? It's probably out of my budget, but I'd love to have a closer look at it! Love the series and thank you!

Watching these a second time and loving them just as much!
I'm a bit late to the party here, but I'm enjoying binging on this channel.

Thanks for the effort you're putting in, Ed, I'm loving these! Perfect easy-listening and genuinely interesting material.
Desiree fell flat on her face in the mud, and got up laughing. A great, funny lady. Loved the video. The cows were very chill too.
Really enjoying this series your doing, both from a walkers perspective and from the chat. Seems like a winner 👍
Hal Cruttenden would be a great walking companion Ed, that would be a good watch. Enjoying the series.
Believe it or not, he’s the next guest. We went up Win Hill in the Peak District.
As well you know, you wind up merchant!

These Ed Venturing vids are simple the best. I just sit down, relax and take in the scenery with you guys.
I like these vids. You get to see some beautiful countryside and learn about Ed's friends. Just 2 mates having a natter and a catchup. 😁😁😁👍👍👍
As a retired climber and mountaineer, I love these films. Thank you for sharing these adventures.
When I did my Mountain Leader and Rocking Climbing awards to be an instructor, they were very much set on what the difference was between a mountain and a hill!
Unfortunately, I can't do the walking any longer, but your walks bring me a great deal of pleasure, Ed. Hope to see more. 💜

Great to watch, charming, v funny standup lady. Thank you.
Fantastic to watch. Really enjoyed it. Very relaxing, great chat and wonderful views. Beats most programmes on TV these days.
Thank you, this is my new favorite youtube-series. I really hope you keep it going long after things get back to normal after the pandemic
What an amazing amount of scenery you went through. Great video. So beautiful. I love this vlog! Thank you for sharing.
This is a good format, well done.
Excited to see who's next
Can you try and get hold of Jimmy Carr and take him along Crib Gogh. I want to hear him cry like a little girl!
This needs to happen 😂
To hear Jimmy Carr cry like a little girl simply attend klub verboten on any Saturday night.
Jimmy is getting overweight as well. Needs a reality check to knock him down a peg or two.
@@mooseandspade6251 Why do you think he cares? Look at the size of Frankie Boyle now, he doesn't give a single fuck.

I think these are my favourite things to watch on RUclips Ed, well these and 'Are Sounds Electrik?'. Please continue.
This series you're doing is beautiful, keep on keeping on and all that..
“Down” has its roots in the Old English/Celtic word “dun” meaning hill :)
... and is generally used for the chalk hills of the south of England
Haha I lived on the south downs for like 5 years and never knew that! Cheers Martin

Best thing on RUclips at the moment for us missing the great outside.
I enjoyed this. Interesting and engaging is Desiree.
Thank you for having Desiree Burch I love her on QI. I look forward to your Friday postings.
Enjoyed that, great view at the top. Interested on what bag that was you were using Ed. Looked a well made piece of kit.
Had a lot of fun here over the years on mushies, the view and yew trees really are something special.
I love Desiree but Ed is one of my favorites since a bit ago... Nice to see both in a natural setting.

Very cool series Ed. I'm just headed out the door for my Saturday hike so I will watch this when I get home.
Great video. It's from somewhere near to where I am from (Chichester - as mentioned in video) though I've never been. Now I have with Ed :)
A proper top of the hill chat. Your mind has space to open up into - it's very therapeutic :-)
Desiree is lovely.
I need to do some "fell" walking asap.

Bognor Regis was named after King William, and was originally pronounced with a rounded "O" and silent "G".
This is the classic hill in our local area. Nobody calls it Bow Hill, it's known as Kingley Vale.
