@Paul Blart FYI, "Muslim" or "Islam" was non existence neither in Jesus' time until 610 A.D.
The text in Hebrew 7:28 המושלם Ha-mu-Salam means "The Perfect", where the root word Salam means "complete" or "peace" in Hebrew, just like the word Jeru-salem means "The City of Peace".

@@christdiedforoursins1467 Where is your source of this "historical fact"? Is your source dated after the creation of Christianity by Rome or before?.
If you meant the sect of Nazarenes from within Judaism at the time, that I would accept as accurate.
After all, Christianity was created 300 some years later after the fact by Rome, and all NT today is based on the earliest new testament Greek Septuagint manuscript dated 300 BCE.
Interestingly, the NT also has the Masoretic manuscript written in Hebrew (100 BCE), and the later discovered Dead Sea Scrolls manuscript written in Hebrew (70 - 100 BCE).
This could lead us to question if the Greek Septuagint was at all authentic without modification to fit the Roman believes for political agenda.

@@flamingrobin5957 Our roots in fact are in God the Word, before He took on flesh and became Jewish.
"Then THE WORD (Dabar/Logos) OF THE LORD came to him: 'This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.' 5 HE TOOK HIM OUTSIDE and said, 'Look up at the sky and count the stars-if indeed you can count them.' Then he said to him, “So shall your OFFSPRING (Zera) be.”
6 ABRAM BELIEVED THE LORD, AND HE CREDITED IT TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." (Gen. 15/4-6)
"Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his OFFSPRING (Zera) and prolong his days." (Isaiah 53)
Also confirmed in Galatians 3/16-18 and Romans 4/3
"The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his SEED. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and TO YOUR SEED,” meaning ONE PERSON, who is CHRIST. 17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, DOES NOT SET ASIDE THE COVENANT PREVIOUSLY ESTABLISHED by God and thus do away with THE PROMISE (Gen. 15:4-6). 18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but GOD IN HIS GRACE gave it TO ABRAHAM THROUGH A PROMISE." (Gal. 3)

Dr. Brown tells us that Paul told Gentiles not to forsake the Jewish roots of their faith while assuming that 'the root supports you' means Jacob's seed rather than Abe's seed of which Christians are. (Romans 11/18; Gal. 3/28,29)
The root/foundation of the church is Jesus, through Abe not Jacob. (Ge. 15/4-6; Is. 11/1; Mt. 16/16-18; Ga. 3/28,29; Eph. 2/20)

I think you really had a good thing going on this topic, but in the end of the video it fell apart. As Gentiles shouldn't we still strive to honor the example that Christ laid out for us to follow? And learn the festival's and Holy Days to observe that do actually honor God, instead of following the traditions of men especially those that we have come to find out have pagan origins?
I have wondered why the church does not still learn to observe those festivals God ordained for His people. Even though we are not Jews we have been adopted into the messianic community. We did not become Isreal but we did become spiritually grafted into Isreal. Shouldn't Gentiles who are born again observe the festival's that celebrate miracles ans wonders that our GOD has done also instead of making up our own traditions? If we are truly One body with many members operating in One SPIRIT wouldn't we be honoring GOD the same way. It is written the True Worshippers will Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Thanks for this message I want to dig deeper now. God bless you brother!

    • @keeshabrown7353

      @ Kristina
Those are great questions! Can we not be fully Christian and observe the festivals God Himself created and ordained in His Holy Word? Do celebrating these events, Divine provisions and miracles in any way make us less trusting or reliant on His Power, His Will and His loving-kindness and character, and His Precious Son? Does it make us any less Christian to do so? So far in my understanding, I think not. Our faith, acceptance and salvation rests in the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah. Our daily lives are transformed by that great love and grace. In my humble opinion (and prayerfully correct understanding), our personal choice to observe biblical festivals does not take from our daily devotion, but rather may add to it. Not to gain brownie points or favor with God, but rather to simply recognize and observe His Powerful works. Starting last year, I've started to observe in some way the 3 main festivals God laid out in Scripture (Passover/Feast of Unleavened Bread, Sukkot/Booths/Tabernacles, and Shavout/Pentecost). I don't trust in Jesus any less. I can see clear connections in each of these observances and the person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, my personal Savior Redeemer and True Friend. Peace be with you

@@keeshabrown7353 This is a bit of how I see it.
Our personal choice should be to follow the Lamb & grafting into Israel means one law for all as the one new man Christ suffered so much to bring forth. Just as Ruth & Rehab assimilate into Israel & become part of the lineage of Messiah by faith in God living lawfully as members of the Israelite community that draw near. They didn't turn back to paganism or flesh desires against God's ways like Lot's wife whose name is not even recorded.
There is no difference between Jew or Greek being grafted in to Messiah.Paul says it is advantage to being a Jew probably because they were aware of many of God's instructions even if they also new some false traditions that would have to go to actually be following Christ. The thing about the Feasts is that they are Sabbaths of God...the Sabbath is The sign He is The Creator and the 4th commandment which has a death penalty attached just like murder. No Christian would consider murder OK.
Through incorrect teaching The Sabbaths are abandoned to do whatever a person heart chooses ought to be acceptable worship practice. A lot of the practice is mixed up with pagan days names & rites which is not what God says are permitted. Holiness is particular to YHWH & the problem Jesus had with the Pharisees & Sadducees only occurs when men exalted their traditions above God's word with oral traditions as Law called TAKANOT doing disservice to the Honour YHWH deserves by misrepresenting God's nature ...His Shem.
So there is a lot more to our Hebrew Root...Jesus than Christianity or Messianic Judaism can stomach because of traditions.
Triumph in Truth has some good videos for you to test.
Peace Sister. Stay Covid safe pray & wash those hands😊🙌

I agree with you, Elaine. I think what's more important is that Jews be able to recognize the fulfillment of the OT prophecies in Messiah. Seems it would be a bit harder given the name changes. And it's fact that what some supposed "churches" have become and the many unbiblical doctrines would scare most learned Jews away. We should be doing all we can to bring them to their Messiah rather than driving them away. I have a Jewish NT that I love to read because the Bible is Jewish from cover to cover and it makes for easier reading. God bless you, Elaine, and my best to you.

Carole Wilson Again, *name one "misinterpretation", and why, that would send any Christian or Gentile to hell because it was "wrong"?*
And why don't you tell the millions(?) of Jews throughout the ages -- including Dr. Brown -- that a Greek version of a Jewish name kept him from knowing the Messiah. The Torah, the Old Testament, waa *intended* to lead everyone to the Messiah in New Testament. I say again, the word of God is infallible. He wouldn't allow insignificant changes to his book to lead anyone astray.
"UMBIBLICAL doctrine" is right. I knew Paul was Saul in the Greek. I knew that "Christian" was a colloquial name. Know how? I study to show myself approved... I didn't listen to Constantine or that Antioch person, I read the scriptures...

One reason is that Emperor Hadrian after the Bar Khoba Rebellion, 131-134 C E, declared Judaism an outlawed religion. Any religion that looked like Judaism, was kosher, kept Shabbath, ect. would have been suspect and the people could have been fined, property confiscated, jailed or killed. They would have had to sacrifice to the Roman Emperor. That is why to Hadrian, letters from a congregation or two confessed to the Emperor that they keep the day of the Son on the day of the Sun. Hadrian moved the Day of the Sun from the 5th day of the week to the most important day of the Roman culture, the first day. So people began to leave those doctrines rather than face the wrath of Rome.

So....I am going to have to disagree with you on what Irenaeus meant by "Jews are disinherited from the grace of God". First of all, that isn't even a direct quote as I will show below in an expert from Book 3 Chapter 21 of "Against Heresies" by Irenaeus. It's interesting that you mention this in this video and I just happen to click on it today of all days because just last night I was dealing with this same quote when I posted on my facebook that replacement theology was WRONG and someone sent me a link where the author used this same quote and so, I had to explain what I believe Irenaeus meant by the context...
In this passage concerning the Jews which is found in book 3 chapter 21:1 of his writings called "Against Heresies" Irenaeus seems to be referring to CERTAIN Jews who denied the virgin birth and Jesus as the Messiah yet BRAG that they are from the house of Jacob nd are the people of Israel. I get the impression that this passage is about how THESE Jews lost their inheritance, not ALL Jews. Here is what he says:
-------> Chapter XXI.-A Vindication of the Prophecy in Isaiah (VII. 14) Against the Misinterpretations of Theodotion, Aquila, the Ebionites, and the Jews. Authority of the Septuagint Version.arguments in Proof that Christ Was Born of a Virgin:
"God, then, was made man, and the Lord did Himself save us, giving us the token of the Virgin. But not as some allege, among those now presuming to expound the Scripture, [thus: ] "Behold, a young woman shall conceive, and bring forth a son," as Theodotion the Ephesian has interpreted, and Aquila of Pontus, both Jewish proselytes. The Ebionites, following these, assert that He was begotten by Joseph; thus destroying, as far as in them lies, such a marvellous dispensation of God, and setting aside the testimony of the prophets which proceeded from God. For truly this prediction was uttered before the removal of the people to Babylon; that is, anterior to the supremacy acquired by the Medes and Persians. But it was interpreted into Greek by the Jews themselves, much before the period of our Lord's advent, that there might remain no suspicion that perchance the Jews, complying with our humour, did put this interpretation upon these words. They indeed, had they been cognizant of our future existence, and that we should use these proofs from the Scriptures, would themselves never have hesitated to burn their own Scriptures, which do declare that all other nations partake of [eternal] life, and show that *THEY WHO BOAST themselves as being the house of Jacob and the people of Israel, AM DISINHERITED FROM THE GRACE OF GOD."
    _______________________
(from the arrow to the line is exactly how it appears in the book)
It reminds me of the same biblical language in these passages from scripture:
    Luke 3:8
Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
    John 8:33
"We are Abraham's descendants," they answered. "We have never been slaves to anyone. How can You say we will be set free?"
    John 8:37
I know you are Abraham's descendants, but you are trying to kill Me because My word has no place within you.
    John 8:39
"Abraham is our father," they replied. "If you were children of Abraham," said Jesus, "you would do the works of Abraham.
It would seem to me that Irenaeus is referring also to these kind of men like in the book of John who think because Abraham is their father, that they are wiser and above others and it is they who would dismember the scriptures and claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin when the very scriptures that their father's interpreted in the Greek Septuagint clearly do say that Jesus would be born of a virgin.
I am willing to admit that I am wrong, but since I have read "Against Heresies" by Irenaeus and am somewhat familiar with his language style, it seems that to him, the "church" refers to the body of believers and the "Jews" are the descendants of Israel who REJECT Jesus, not meaning that every blood born Jew rejects Jesus, but that Jews who DO accept Jesus were part of the church and those that didn't were still "Jews". I admit that is a strange way to look at things, since being a Jew has to do with descending from Judah and not about Judaism, but it seems in Irenaeus's eyes, there were Jews and Gentiles who rejected Jesus, and then there was the "church" (assembly) of believers. today I think we tend to think there are Jews who reject Jesus and then there are Messianic Jews and there are Gentiles who reject Jesus and Gentiles who accept him and those are the church. I don't think Irenaeus saw it that way. I think he saw it more like "you are IN the church or you are outside". Period. ANd the church wasn't limited to Jew or Gentile but as simply "believers" in his mind.
Irenaeus's writings, in my opinion, are a lot like Paul's. People misunderstand and misinterpret him frequently. That's why I decided to purchase, read, study, highlight and make notes in a copy of his book of writings.

I have never read Irenaeus' writings, yet the way you explain the context of what he stated and explain your reasoning does make sense and seem to line up with the Scriptures you quote. I do know that God does not reject any nation, tribe, or tongue of people, for through the Lord Jesus we ALL have the opportunity to be saved and come into intimate relationship with the Father and the One whom He's sent forth, and enjoy eternal life.

Dr. Brown, you do great work with this video. And also respectfully, as a Christian with some Jewish descent, you also take some of the Christian writers out of the context of their own words and attribute a wayward development with their own intention. *Please, everyone watch this video and also learn from this comment.* The quote from Ignatius does not recognize two main things about the early Church fathers as a whole:
What they often seemed to have meant by saying that the "Jews/Judeans" were rejected is that as a saving body, or as a covenant-community, salvation could no longer be found in their message. We must also remember the rhetoric from the Jews/Judeans based upon evidences that we have to this day, namely, that they collectively called themselves "Jews/Judeans" and used that moniker as an expression opposed to Jesus and anything about Him. So, often Christian writers such as Ignatius or Justin wrote in manners that used that moniker in the common collective.
The evidence is in their writing. For instance, in his *Dialogue with Trypho* in Chapter 47, Justin adamantly declares to Trypho the Jew that he has no qualms at all against Jews who live as Jews and who even strive to keep the law of Moses when they also confess Jesus as Messiah, so long as they do not try to force others to join them. Justin may have been an ethnic Samaritan, but in any rate, he was a native of the region of Samaria. And yet, Justin was adamant in his writing that Jews without Jesus were just as in peril as Gentiles without Jesus.
And Ignatius, who tradition holds was taught personally by John the brother of James, a Jew, in his *Letter to the Smyrnaeans* where he does state in 1:2 that Jesus truly is David's son, born of the virgin, and baptized by John, and crucified by Pontius Pilate and Herod so that He may raise up a banner for his faithful saints and people from *among the Jews and Gentiles* in the one body of His church.
Ignatius also says in his *Letter to the Philadelphians* in chapter 6:1-2 that it is better, due to misinformation, to hear a circumcised man (Jew/Judean) explain Christianity than to hear a Christian explain Judaism, but that if either can do either job without mentioning Jesus, that he treats them as dead men. Ignatius often used the imagery of "the dead" for those who he considered without the Messiah in typical Johannine fashion (John 3, John 14, John 11, etc.).
Yes, some Christians did become anti-Jewish. And at the same time we must be careful to listen in context and take the care not to put into that camp Christians who do not belong there.

Exactly what I was looking for. You can't find anything on this hardly. Do you have a more detailed sketch of what happened? Are their "Jewish" early church writers instead of the likes of Ignatias and Ireneaus? I think that Polycarp kept the passover and probably Sabbath, if he kept the passover? What do you think?

Perhaps the most powerful reminder is how divisive the unchecked ego becomes. How easily humanity is led astray through our own arrogance into our own delusions. How evil we can become. How far off the mark we all are without wisdom from the Tree of Life.
People trying to replace God with themselves IS the first lie...and it will be the last. There is only one Mother Tree for all nations. The Jewish Messiah IS the key to the kingdom. There is no "other."

You can see the religiosity in those churches who felt there was a need to be anti-Semetic. Spirit filled believers are only concerned with being close to God and living for Him regardless of race, ethnicity, culture.

This issue was addressed and resolved in Acts 15. Judaizers wanted the church to follow the Mosaic Law. Peter said the Law was a burden too much to bear. Paul testified of Peter iin Galatians that he didn’t live like a Jew (Galatians 2:14). In Colossians Paul revealed the Law and Old Covenant observances were shadows of the substance to come which was Christ Jesus and His redemptive Work. So why would we encourage people to honor the shadow when the substance has come? Want to honor something? Honor the blood and honor the New Covenant He established. Brown and Roth have always wanted the Church to observe rituals and practices. It’s clear in their messages over the years.

Paul's point in Romans was that if you keep the old law, you disregard the grace of God through Christ. For Christ/Messiah was the fulfilling of the law; the'once and for all time' sacrifice. So that obeying the old law with its sacrifice is rejecting the sacrifice of Christ as the Lamb of God. For he is our Sabbath rest; he is our sacrifice that reconciles us to God through faith, not works of the law. This was Paul's point in writing Romans.

I always wondered about acts 21:15-26. Was Paul teaching the Jewish believers they didn’t need to follow Jewish customs and Law in Galatians? Not in order to be saved but because they were saved. Seems the determination for Gentiles was to abstain from blood Fornication and food sacrificed to Idols. Yet Paul seemed to teach they could eat food sacrificed to idols but not to cause a brother to stumble.

    Psalm 119:1
1Blessed are the perfect in the WAY, Who walk in the Torah of יהוה!
    Psalm 40:8
I delight to do Your WILL MY ELOHIM YOUR TORAH IS WITHIN MY HEART ♥️
Exodus 33:13-21 shows us Mosheh asked Abba to show him HIS WAY
    John 14:6
Messiah said “ I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE No one comes to the Father except through Me
13 “And now, please, if I have found favour in Your eyes, please show me YOUR WAY, and let me know YOU, so that I find favour in YOUR eyes. And consider that this nation is YOUR people.”
14 And He said, “My Presence does go, and I shall give you rest.”
    Matthew 11:25-30
25 ¶ At that time Y’shua answered and said, "I thank You, Father, Master of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.
26 "Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
27 "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
and then Abba said He knew Mosheh by name “his character”
    1 Corinthians 8:3
But if anyone loves Elohim, he is known by Him.
    John 14:15
"If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And then Mosheh proceeded to ask if I’ve found favor with You ! Can you show me Your esteem and Abba said to him stand on this ROCK “ Y’shua “ halleluYaH
    Matthew 7:24
"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
and then in verse 22 when Abba’s esteem passed by, He hides him in a cleft of the ROCK with His Hand
    Isaiah 49:15-16🖐
15 "Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
    Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
    16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
read all of chapter 49 😳wow
    also in John 10:28-30
28 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.
30 "I and My Father are one."
We are in the palm of His hand and in 1 John He tells us how to abide in Him
    1 John 3:24
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
5“No man is going to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Mosheh, so I am with you. I do not fail you nor forsake you.
6“Be strong and courageous, for you are to let this people inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7“Only be strong and very courageous, to guard to do according to all the Torah which Mosheh My servant commanded you. Do not turn from it right or left, so that you act wisely wherever you go.
8“Do not let this Book of the Torah depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and act wisely.
9“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, nor be discouraged, for יהוה your Elohim is with you wherever you go.”
We will be hidden from the destruction of His glorious return at the end brothers and sisters IF we continue to abide IN Him and strive to enter in by Loving Him with our whole heart and soul and strength halleluYaH He is glorious and worth of all praise 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Sin is the transgression of the Torah 1 John 3:4
“ Messiah “ Go SIN no more
WHEN THE SON SETS YOU FREE - you are set free from sin because when you abide IN the messiah you will not sin or stumble
      2 John 1:9-11
9Everyone who is transgressing and not staying in the teaching of Messiah does not possess Elohim. The one who stays in the teaching of Messiah possesses both the Father and the Son.
10If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house nor greet him,
11for he who greets him shares in his wicked works.
      John 7:16-17
16 ¶ Y’shua answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
17 "If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from Elohim or whether I speak on My own authority.
      Pslam 40:8
I delight to do Your will my Elohim Your Torah is within my Heart
      John 14:15
If you love Me keep My commandments
      John 15:14
You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
      Matthew 23:1-3
¶ Then Y’shua( Messiah ) spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples,
2 saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.
      ( preaching & teaching the Torah )
3 "Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that OBSERVE and DO, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.
      Acts 15:19-21
19“Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the gentiles who are turning to Elohim,
20but that we write to them to abstain from the defilements of idols, and from whoring, and from what is strangled, and from blood.
21“For from ancient generations Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him - being read in the congregations every Sabbath.”
( So they would go every sabbath and learn how to walk like Messiah by walking out the Torah by the set apart Spirit )
      James 1:22
22And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror,
24for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like.
25But he that looked into the perfect Torah, that of freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah.
      1 John 2:3-7
3And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands.
4The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
6The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.
7Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.
The Word from the beginning is the Torah and prophets
      Revelation 12:9-17
9And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his messengers were thrown out with him.
10And I heard a loud voice saying in the heaven, “Now have come the deliverance and the power and the reign of our Elohim, and the authority of His Messiah, for the accuser of our brothers, who accused them before our Elohim day and night, has been thrown down.
11“And they overcame him because of the Blood of the Lamb, and because of the Word of their witness, and they did not love their lives to the death.
12“Because of this rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has little time.”
13And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
14And the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, to fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
15And out of his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, to cause her to be swept away by the river.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
17And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע ( YaHUsha ) Messiah.
      ◄ 2 Thessalonians 2 ►
      The Scriptures (ISR 1998)
1As to the coming of our Master יהושע Messiah and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, brothers,
2not to become easily unsettled in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as if the day of יהוה has come.
3Let no one deceive you in any way, because the falling away is to come first, and the man of lawlessnessa is to be revealed, the son of destruction,
4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called Elohim or that is worshipped, so that he sits as Elohim in the Dwelling Place of Elohim, showing himself that he is Elohim.
5Do you not remember that I told you this while I was still with you?
6And now you know what restrains, for him to be revealed in his time.
7For the secret of lawlessness is already at work - only until he who now restrains comes out of the midst.
8And then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Master shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth and bring to naught with the manifestation of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood,
10and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the TRUTH, in order for them to be saved.

11And for this reason Elohim sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood,

      Matthew 12:46-50
46 ¶ While Messiah Y’shua was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him.
47 Then one said to Him, "Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You."
48 But he replied to the man who told him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"
49 And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers!
50 For whoever does the WILL of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."
      Psalm 40:8
I delight to do Your WILL my Elohim (God) Your Torah (Law) is within my heart
      Ezekiel 36:26-27
26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
      John 3:36
36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
      John 7:16
16 Y’shua therefore answered them, "My teaching (doctrine) is not mine, but his who sent me.
      Proverbs 4:2
I give you good doctrine don’t forsake My Torah
      John 14:23-24
23 Y’shua answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep my Word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.
24 He who doesn't love me doesn't keep my words. The Word which you hear isn't mine, but the Father's who sent me.
      2 John 1:9-10
9 Whoever transgresses ( 1 John 3:4 Torah ) and doesn't remain in the teaching of Messiah, doesn't have Elohim (God). He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you, and doesn't bring this teaching, don't receive him into your house, and don't welcome him,
11 for he who welcomes him participates in his evil works.
      James 2:8-26
8If you truly accomplish the sovereign law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself,” you do well,
9but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being found guilty by the Torah as transgressors.
10For whoever shall guard all the Torah, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
11For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of Torah.
12So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by a Torah of freedom.
13For the judgment is without compassion to the one who has shown no compassion. And compassion boasts over judgment.
14My brothers, what use is it for anyone to say he has belief but does not have works? This belief is unable to save him.
15And if a brother or sister is naked and in need of daily food,
16but one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” but you do not give them the bodily needs, what use is it?
17So also belief, if it does not have works, is in itself dead.
18But someone might say, “You have belief, and I have works.” Show me your belief without your works, and I shall show you my belief by my works.
19You believe that Elohim is one. You do well. The demons also believe - and shudder!
20But do you wish to know, O foolish man, that the belief without the works is dead?
21Was not Aḇraham our father declared right by works when he offered Yitsḥaq his son on the altar?
22Do you see that the belief was working with his works, and by the works the belief was perfected?
23And the Scripture was filled which says, “Aḇraham believed Elohim, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.” And he was called, “Elohim’s friend.”
24You see, then, that a man is declared right by works, and not by belief alone.
25In the same way, was not Raḥaḇ the whore also declared right by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also the belief is dead without the works.

I had no idea that the replacement theology was this old. I celebrate the Biblical feasts but go to church on the Christian holidays. I have a shofar (a kosher ramshorn) to blow the Biblical prescribed tones. As you probably understand I have no Messianic Jewish congregation nearby.
I have been to one although and maybe someone can answer a question about this. At the end of the service they went around with scrolls and everyone pushed their Bibles against it. Why did they do that? What is the idea behind this?
I am saved by grace but I keep parts of the law because I think it is given to protect us as well. The Bible is our manufacturers handbook, our life's manual. How else can we interpret to put a fence around a flat roof. But I think Jesus law goes much further than the Mosaic law. Shabbat shalom. שבת שלום

Um, Paul’s argument in Romans 11 and his root analogy seems to be about belief in God, noting that faithless Jews were being cut out so that the Gentile believers could be grafted in (per 11:15) which leads to the further contrast in11:22 and the warning that accompanies it.
    Aside from that, good video.

Short, informative, and to the point. Very clear and gave me something more to meditate on.
There are scripture in the NT that basically tell the Gentiles not to elevate themselves above the Jews or feel as if they have *replaced* the Jews (i'm summarizing and not quoting exactly).
Yes, by divine providence the followers of Jesus became known as *Christians* but they were not starting a new faith. Their new name just identified them as followers of Jesus (also Gentiles were not Jews so a distinction had to be made).
    Thanks Dr. Brown

You are wrong. Christ broke the division between Jew and Gentile through the cross, so why is it the continue to elevate these people who are nothing but secular, ungodly and Christ-haters.
I have nothing against the modern Jew, but I do have lots of problem with the cult of dispensationalism that has broken the unity of the scriptures in order to accommodate unbelievers that have nothing to do with the bible.
If you want to start quoting OT scriptures, you are wasting your time. I'm not speaking about old covenant Israel, but about the modern Jew that is set completely against Christ.

    • @keyo3316
      @keyo3316 5 лет назад

Solitary Pawn I have no intention of quoting any scriptures because you are entitled to your opinion and interpretation of scripture.
What I stated seemed to go against what the NT says, but it doesn't. Yes, Jesus unified the world at the cross. There is no distinction between Jew and Gentile.
What I was referring to was that the Gentiles were *"grafted in"* with the Jews on the same root. God's original promise was for and still is with the Jews (because God doesn't break his promises).
However, the Jews were unfaithful and rejected Jesus (even down to this day), so God made provisions and allowed non-Jews to come in and share in the promise. Paul says in one of his letters that this was to make the Jews jealous so as to prompt them to respond favorably (I am paraphrasing here).
If the non-Jews started calling themselves "Jews" then they may have been confused and tied up with those who rejected Jesus.
Calling themselves *Christians* (both Jews and Gentiles who accepted Christ), separated them from those who *did not believe* .
This is what I was trying to make clear in my above comment (but apparently failed). We are not to hate Israel (though you may do as you please), but to pray for them and ask that God opens their eyes to the truth.
Dr Brown is himself Jewish and he found Christ. There are many others who are finally waking up. Salvation began with Israel and will end with Israel (that just appears to be fact). I continue to await and see how God will deliver modern Israel. I believe he will in his own due time.
I hope you have a good rest of the week.

Sorry, I cannot agree with dispensationalism. Darby and Scofield have distorted the word of God to the point of being almost unrecognizable. I reject anything that cannot be proven through the scriptures in a clear way and without adding or subtracting from it.
There are no promises to modern Israel in the NT. Jesus did not promise them the land except judgment. And they were judged in AD 70. There is no further word from the bible that we can discuss about a future restoration to the land, therefore modern Israel is not a result of prophecy but the result of politics.
Your response is full of holes that I could address point by point if you like, but I'm not sure if you want to discuss this any further.
As for Dr. Brown, I'm sure he could not answer certain basic questions when it comes to what the Bible actually teaches about God's true Israel.
      Let me know,
      William

    • @keyo3316
      @keyo3316 5 лет назад +1

Solitary Pawn Hi William. Seems like nothing I say is being properly understood. God's original promise to Israel never changed whether it be past or future.
Several times Israel suffered divine judgment, but it never changed God's purpose or promises. Jesus fulfilled the law, he did not abolish it.
Modern Israel is indeed political and of course definitely secular, but *judgment day* has not fully come to completion.
Christ has not yet return and I understand that it is not my place to act as if I am in the seat of God (not saying you are. Please don't take offense).
I believe modern Israel with the rest of the world will be saved. God has not completely abandoned them regardless. Yes, he turned to the *nations* and the NT does say God has rejected them, but only people who reject God. Not all Jews reject God.
If you wish to show me scripture go ahead (I am open to being corrected), but I will not get in a debate about who is smarter ("I can point out all of the holes in your theology").
Jesus doesn't want me to do that because it proves nothing (the haughty get humbled). Granted, we all have *holes* in our theology because no one knows all or has *complete* bible knowledge (there is no such thing). We all study the scriptures and help each other (as some people might be better able to explain ancient customs while another may understand context better etc).
I don't follow any school of thought when it comes to the bible. I listen to people like Dr. Brown, I read my bible, I pray for insight, and rest in God's grace. That is what matters.
So, feel free to show me my errors, but I feel you miss the meaning of the things I am actually saying.
      God bless.

Dr. Brown, I agree with your final conclusions but I would add a few details. One the Jews kicked out the early Christians from the Synagogues. 2. Doing so made them in the eyes of the Romans a separate religion (Christians) and required them to sacrifice to Cesar. The Jews didn't have to sacrifice to Cesar and this started persecution for all believers. 3. The Jews furthered thier contentions towards both Israelite and gentile believers by turn them in to Rome for martyrdom. 4. Seventy A.D. seemed to some (most) to be God's final judgment on the the Jew's and the end of the nation Israel. This last fact was an unfortunate mistake and did cause the beginning of, Replacement Theology.

First, Brown doesn't really tell us who is expecting this of Jewish believers but Paul does tell us to cut WEAKER BROTHERS slack when he said, "Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters....5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind." (Romans 14:5)
The problem arises when this becomes a lifestyle that they believe Paul promoted. This would be what Judaizers do. Today most Judaizers don't teach you are saved through the Law but do put believers, Jew and Gentile under the law after they are saved, which is wrong as well. (Gal. 3:24,25)
"9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. .. 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration OR A SABBATH DAY.. 17 THESE ARE A SHADOW of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. " (Col. 2:9,10)
And I see no evidence that the apastles lived like Jews under the law, except maybe James (Acts 21). Peter once did but that changed after his vision in Acts 10.
Paul even tells us that Peter, a Jew was living like Gentiles which includes eating like Gentiles. (Gal. 2:14)
Also as far as the Hebrew names are concerned, only in James' case have I seen a Greek transliteration of the Hebrew name Jacobus. Our oldest MSS are in Greek and even Jesus was Insous as in the Greek Septuagint not Yeshua. The NT doesn't see the need to communicate the gospel in Hebrew for the Body of Christ.

This is an excellent however brief explanation of the subject with which I agree 100%. Now if I could only get a few hours with you and a Bible to get you to understand how it is that there is no separation between a Jew and a Gentile in the faith of Christ since all followers of Yeshua are born again of God into the Israel of God (Galatians 6:15-16) and are all Jews because we were grafted into the tree of Israel and a Jew is not a Jew who is one in the flesh but inwardly (Romans 2;28-29; 11:19-24). This fact does not threaten the state of Israel or natural born descendants of Jacob and it is not cultural appropriation since salvation is neither political or cultural and our inheritance is neither political or cultural but a new Creation and a Kingdom that will not be shaken and is not according to the flesh. In the flesh we are encouraged by Paul to remain in whatever cultural and or political and or social state we came into the faith. But that does not speak to our eternal identity before God. Any how, good video.

It's so terrible that Christianity has been cut off from Judaism. I am a Catholic, but I have Jewish roots. I have always been taught as a Catholic to hold tight to my Jewish roots. I grew up believing that the Jews were the Chosen People of God. I celebrate Hanukkah and Passover. I'm working on learning Hebrew. We learn about Jewish history in the Old Testament (the Jewish Torah). We believe in all the Jewish prophets. Jesus indeed was a Jew who came to fulfill the prophets and not to start an entirely new religion. Unfortunately, when some Jews decided to follow Jesus and others didn't, there wasn't really much of a choice but to separate. I still identify as strongly with Judaism as I do with Catholicism and Christianity, though. We are one in the same. You can't have Christianity without also having Judaism.

Dr. Brown I generally enjoy your videos. This video came off like the heretical Hebrew Roots movement. It seemed like you cleared it up at the end: Gentiles does not need to be Jews.
I do agree and understand that Jesus is a transliteration and not his real jewish name, Yeshua; Christ in Hebrew is Messiah.
I do think if the book of James was Jacob, why even change it to James, and the book of Yehuda to Jude? This was good information.
However, Dr. Brown you quoted certain passages to fit your narrative that the Church, that is to say in particular, the Gentile Christians should return to the Jewish roots, despite you cleaning it up at the end. I thought was wrong to do.
You mentioned we, Christians, should observe the feast of passover quoting a portion AND NOT THE FULL TEXT: 1 corinthians 5:7-8,(TLV) "Messiah, our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed. Therefore, let us celebrate the feast."
The Full text in (KJV) Your glorying not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened of sincerity and truth.Mr. Brown just stops at the part:Messiah, our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed. Therefore, let us celebrate the feast." Yet, looking at the full instead of stopping at celebrating the feast verse 8 as shown above, this feast is not the Passover.
Paul referred to the Feast of unleavened bread, not with old leaven neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness but with sincerity and truth. This celebration or keeping this feast has to do with our walk and behavior for verse 7 we are to purge/remove the old leaven that we may be a new lump as "Ye are unleavened." We are unleavened by Christ's sacrifice and he is the way the TRUTH and the life. The context is referring to a person who had sexual relations with his father's wife, to be giving over to Satan; this wicked person is as leaven who needs to be removed from the whole because we "Are Unleavened."
We are to keep this feast, not the feast of Exodus 12:8,19, rather the "But with the unleavened of sincerity and truth" LIVING WITH SINCERITY or PURITY and TRUTH: not living in sexual immorality as Ephesians 5:3, 1 corinthians 6:8, Colossians 3:5 but carrying our CROSS, to die from sinful desires.
Then Dr. Brown proceeds to mishandles romans 11:18 "Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee"saying that we don't support the root but the root supports you.
Yet, the context of Romans 11 was NOT to reconnect to the Jewish roots but how we are of Israel, spiritually thru Christ by faith, have been grafted to Israel's blessing; if the natural branches by lack of faith could be cut off by God, we, the unnatural branches are not to boast for we stand by faith and could be cut off too. No where in Romans chapter 9,10, nor 11 does Paul instruct us to go to our Jewish/Hebrew root; chapter 9 of Romans Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. We are the seed of Abraham thru Jesus Christ by faith Galatians 3:For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This is sad. There is clearly a continuity between the religion of the OT and a discontinuity. Hebrews says the law was given until the time of reformation
So if it was ok for jews to continue in Old testament religion then Paul was wrong in reproving peter for not stopping to eat with the gentiles since that is what Judaism required. HOW about the clear teaching of Galatians 5 that our liberty in christ is no longer. Required to keep holy days, observe laws around what to eat, wear, as goven by the law.? How aboit the explicit teaching in Eph 2 and Col 2 regarding the laws if separation ie that which constitutes jewishness abolished and nailed to the cross for both believing jews and gentiles? So Mr brown, u perhaps have not realized what it means to be a Christian on its full extent. It means a separation from Judaism and becoming a new man on christ. Not under moses but under the law of christ . This is the law for the chrisitan. Being messianic is not celebraring feast days, keeping holy days and kosher eating. Nope!!!! Christians are under the new covenant not under the old. We are dead to it but alive to God and christ. . Christ gave us a law that fulfills all these things . Hos but I say unto you is what is authoritative for us. Amd it shows continuty and discontinuity in certain areas. So no we are not of Judaism but we are christians. Christianity is the fulfilment of judaism.

Galatians 2:14 "When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?"
The apostles did NOT live out Torah obedience as a means of pleasing God, they followed Jewish customs as a means of being culturally Jewish, not being Jewishly Christians.
The reason Judaism diminished in the western world is because Christianity flourished in it, not because it was suppressed. I respect your teachings very much but this throws fuel on the dangerous and heretical fire of the Hebrew Roots teaching propagating in the church today.

    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:8, 14‬ ‭

I dislike the way half truths are presented as facts. Paul may have been a follower of the Way, but the term Christian hadn't been mentioned at that point.
Paul, or as he was called at that time, Saul, did receive a vision of Jesus the Christ. Who is it that nourishes the natural branches? Do the natural branches nourish themselves? No, both the natural branches that remain and the wild branches which were engrafted in, are both nourished by the same root, the root of Jesse.

A lot of Christians know that Christianity comes from Jews. It is not over emphasised, to be fair, mainly I believe as we understand that there is departure in belief or rather divergence in belief, expressly in whom Christ, the messiah is. I’m 50 and have never been taught to hate Jews/Jewish culture. I was or became aware that they lived very separate lives from most other people in general at the time I was a child. I’m not catholic and did not grow up with a label or fair to say did not understand the different labels given according to denominations- I was simply a Christian who believed that Jesus was/is the son of God. He died and rose again and understood that God (Yahweh) the Father is God. I can’t explain this adequately, but until I came to deeper understanding of the Word of God - not necessarily comprehensive, but deeper I learnt more about correct names of people in the bible more from the perspective that there is deeper meaning to names, deeper ways to see the events in the bible and in that, how God moves and works and reveals Himself and speaks through His Word and creation - basically the hidden truth and depth of the Word and its saving, transformative, real power.
Yes, it is important to appreciate, know and understand the beautiful and rich heritage and breadth as well as breathtaking richness Jewish culture and history plays in my/Christian faith, however, being gentile, grafted on to the true vine, I’m not Jewish, so therefore, not being Jewish, how I live out my faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross is not dependent on following Torah or observing sabbath or abstaining from ‘unclean’ food, though I 100% understand it all and respect those who believe and hold to that as their reasonable service to God - the true and living God. I believe this is a natural thing for Jews to do as it is their heritage and culture. Equally, I see nothing amiss if Christians in particular choose to follow Torah if that’s their conviction in following Christ. That is, if they feel they are having a closer work with God/Yahweh, feel that’s that’s the right way for them to live - excellent and God richly bless them for choosing to acknowledge Him in that manner. Do what God has lead you to do. I believe in rightly dividing the word of God and being led by the Holy Spirit. I believe that all my ways should be submitted to God. I should not lean on my own understanding but acknowledge God in all I do and HE will bring me to truth. I worship corporately and am pastored, yet always being encouraged to work out my own relationship/salvation with God with fear and trembling. This statement may sound very contrary, but we should not serve God in bondage but in freedom. Not freedom to live as one likes - but the freedom in God’s redemptive work to do things God’s way, as given by the scripture. The point I’m really hoping to make is, stop assuming most Christians are ignorant of their Jewish roots or care less or little about Jewish traditions or laws. A lot have come to an understanding that according to scripture it does not necessarily put you in right standing with God following the law for engrafted gentiles. Yes, God may well be pleased one has set apart ones life in such a manner, however, for a lot of Christians, it is by grace and the work on the cross I have been saved and justified - Through repentance and acceptance of the Godhead (confessing TO Christ/God I am a sinner, accept Jesus died on the cross and rose again on third day and will return for His church/bride - in a nutshell!) What for one such as myself is of paramount importance is ones/Your heart - are you living free from sin? (with the help of the Holy Spirit, because we are not able to live to Gods Holy standard by our own effort); when one errs do we repent and get back in right standing with God, are we walking according to His Word, again the Holy Spirit. Our we worshipping idols - our status, job, income, goods, celebrities?- nothing wrong with being prosperous, but does it come before God. Does it take precedence? - I could go on... Do I love and trust Him? Am I leading souls to Christ? Raising my children in the fear of God? That’s is what ultimately matters and for which I must give account. God honours what we do that is for His glory. If that is observing sabbath for non-Jews. Do it. And do it for the glory of God. If its abstaining from certain foods, drinks and events. Do it. And do it for the glory of God. If all you do honours God and places Him first, in word and deed - your daily actions and interactions (I’m not perfect, by a long shot!) If you truly love , desire Him and are a true worshipper, is that not following after the most high to the best of my/ones ability? Will He not bring errors to light? He is not the master potter? The Holy refiner? We need to stop making heavy weights of tradition and legalism to weigh down Children of the most high with weights Christ died on the cross to lift, and focus on Holy living by personal striving and seeking God’s face to carve out, work out our walk with God with wisdom and know His will for us personally. He does the work, the change, the drawing deeper so we can ‘do’ His will. Do all for the glory of God - and get understanding about what a His will is for your life. It’s in His Word. We must be accountable to God. One accountability on the last day is individual. We do have to find more unity in the body of Christ and I don’t know the answer to that one! In this vastly diverse and at the same time increasingly homogenised world, we=I need to focus on what is really important - its personal to each individual, yet unifying. Know God for yourself. WHAT does He desire from YOU. Did you ask? My pastor says that the Holy Spirit will not do anything contrary to the Word of God or which violates His own Words / heavenly laws. One way to test the spirit if it be of God/ if what you’re doing lines up with His Word. Whom do you serve? Just wanted to say 🙏🏾 The message of the cross is simple. It is the mystery and love of God and plan of salvation which is deep and complex and joyful, amazing and wonderful and life giving AND links so richly and tellingly to Jewish roots/history. God’s chosen people, who never stopped being God’s chosen people. Shema Isra’el. Ps. I respect and love Dr Brown’s teaching and knowledge.

The reason this video is so important is because Yeshua prayed for the unity of all believers (both Jew and Gentile). Yes, Jews and Gentiles are both responsible throughout history for killing one another, but Christianity moreso because though Jews would come to faith in Messiah, they were seen as “law-keepers and Judaizers” for the sake of salvation when really, they truly believed in Messiah and desired to live by the Torah which in no verse of the Bible does it say Christians are no longer to abide by God’s law or forsake their Jewish roots by also keeping and observing the sabbath and feasts. The feasts are God’s, not JUST for Jews; all of God’s children.
We need to return to worshipping with one another without any “conversion” expectation from the Jews.
Also: We must remember that the Jews will finally be the head of the world instead of the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). The theocratic governmental system under King Jesus will be strongly Jewish in nature. So we can expect to have celebrations strongly influenced by the Jewish feasts. So even though only two of the six annual feasts under the Levitical system (cf. Lev. 23:4-44) are explicitly stated in the Millennial passages of Scripture possibly more will be carried out.
