Nailed it bro. This review solidified my purchase. I just cancelled my order for the niche duo and replaced it for this. You helped me realize my needs. I’m a coffee “hobbyist” but I’m not geeked out to the extreme (I’m running a Profitec 600 Pro) - that is, sometimes I like espresso, sometimes pour-over. My machine can do both with my flow control. So I want a grinder to run one bag until it’s done in either grind, and I like to fill up my Porto filter and skip the dosing cup and the ring and get straight to work. Single dose grinders are for those who switch roasts out per cup. Cool. Not me. Good job.

It’s a fantastic grinder. Hello sir i have some questions about the all ground grinder machine because we have that one here and the problem is the screen is really hard to touch the screen . Thank you and god bless
You got this for $1100? Now is $1350🤑 Btw thanks for your fair review. After watching this video I’m finally decided to this beauty. I love the wood accent.👌😍
The Sense Grind by weight version is 1350! The normal version (this one!) is still 1150:) for what it’s worth, I also reviewed the Sense version on here and much prefer it - fantastic grinder. Check out that vid too!
I’m thinking about getting the sense version, but many people say it has too much retention. Do you think retention is that bad. Considering this vs Eureka Libra or Eureka w 65.
I know you said you didn't want to answer the Niche Zero comparison question but I'm glad you did, and I thought I would ask maybe a more complicated version of that question! How do you compare this to the Niche Duo that you recently reviewed? Both seem to hit the "all around grinder" pretty well, with the big difference on the Duo being the burr swap, but I'm curious to hear your perspective! Thanks for the awesome videos, keep it up!
Both are excellent grinders. Personally, I lean more toward single dosers because I can sometimes enjoy 3 or 4 different coffees over the course of a day. That’s not really realistic with a hopper style grinder. Also, with any “all around” hopper grinder I find there’s a little more waste as you need to purge when you move between settings. However, even with the niche I tend to leave it on one setting (espresso) and use a hand grinder for filter. I will say the timed grind on the fiorenzato makes for a slick workflow. I would probably base a decision between the two on hopper style/single dose. Hope that helps a bit!
@@DaddyGotCoffee Appreciate the response! I have gone back and forth on hopper/single dose a bunch, but I think I'll probably land on the hopper since in practice I don't really move between coffee's frequently. Can you elaborate a little bit more on what you mean by the purge between settings? Maybe I missed something in the review video. Thanks again!
@@hatzz for sure! Any time you are tightening the grind, you need to do that with the grinder running, which wastes a couple grams. Also, any time you are at a new setting you should run a couple grams through to make sure any residual grinds at the old setting are gone. It’s only a couple grams each time. To be fair I often do the same with single dosers as well
Excellent review! How did you do the clean cuts of video? I’ve been on Bartza Encore and doing only filter. How would you compare this grinder to Fellow Ode? From what I’ve read flat burrs are better for filter than conical.
The encore is a very decent grinder! This grinder is in a whole other category than the ode, both in terms of price and capability. With the stock burrs the ode cannot do espresso. That being said I do find the ode to be pretty forgiving on filter!
hey! Between this grinder and a DF83 with stock burrs? I know they are on different grider lands (Single vs Doser), but which one produces better coffee shots? I am an espresso guy. Thank you! GREAT Review, man!
Personally I prefer the burrs in the AllGround, however, I would probably weight the single dosing/hopper convo more heavily. IMO the All ground does not do well for single dosing, even with the hopper removed. Hope that helps!
i quite curious if keep switching between filter and espresso, how hard is dailing in ? or since is step adjustment it just need to turn to the right click ?
As long as you purge it’s pretty straightforward if you go back to the same setting. If you forget to purge it can get a little frustrating because some of the grinds from the previous grind setting will make it into your shot
Yup totally! I’d definitely base this decision on preference for single dosing vs hopper workflow. Niche will be more forgiving, higher body, sweet and full. All ground is clearer, lighter and a little trickier to dial in! But the hopper/not convo is a big one!
@@DaddyGotCoffee thanks for the quick reply, such a tough decision! Prefer the look of the all ground but niche has so many positive reviews. Did you say the all ground would work ok with a 54mm portafilter?
Definitely higher clarity and less body than the niche, but probably not as far along as a purely unimodal profile. Personally, it’s quite nice and a nice balance
A question could also be, can I buy these burrs alone. If yes, will they fit in most 64mm grinders? How much did they cost? It could be an appealing alternative to expensive SSP burrs
Normally I don't mind spending money on quality that performs well. However, I found a gem recently which was the kitchenaid coffee burr grinder. I have it dialed in everything from espresso machines to filtered French press coffee. To say I was impressed is an understatement. The trick with that coffee burr grinder is to take the internal grinder out which comes from the factory set at 8 readjust it to 1. Then make sure it clicks in when put back. Then dial in your espresso. Makes wonderful puffy flour like espresso If you so desire. I wish this channel would do a review on it I think he would be surprised. I know I was. Edit : Spelling/grammar
Good question! I think in comparison to the Niche it really comes down to that single dosing question. Will you be changing beans mid-bag all the time or using different bags throughout the day or week? If so, definitely consider a niche or other single dosing grinder. In comparison to the Eureka, that comes more down to budget. The burrs in this are nicer (in my opinion), but you're also paying more for that and the flexibility to grind across a wider range very well. Hope that helps!
@@Chryzy I purchased eureka mignon crono with filtro pro burrs. The burrs are amazing for espresso too. The only problem is the last bean can’t be grabbed into burrs sometimes . I swapped that burrs to standard espresso burrs. It took my 1 hour to align burrs for perfect result. I made DIY CNC big steel dial ( required) , single dose hopper and bellows and hi-fi sound isolating feets for it. Anyway If I knew this italian all ground brand before Eureka I would not think twice and pay 550euros . I think it is even better than niche zero.
It was sent to me as a demo from espressoparts.com, who distributes a wide variety of espresso equipment. It was not sent for the purposes of a review but a review was highly requested for it by my subscribers. This video is not sponsored, approved or previously reviewed by espresso parts or fiorenzato.
@@DaddyGotCoffee gotcha . I think most prefer when these things are transparently disclosed at the beginning of reviews. Nice review in any case. Keep the memes coming
Thanks for the encouragement ☺️ I’m still finding my feet on the way I want to do this on RUclips - on Instagram I don’t do “gifted content”, only paid content anytime a brand requests something and I always use the “paid partnership” tag. But on RUclips, I do NOT do ANY paid content (until a niche adjacent sponsor reaches out to me anyway who wants to sponsor videos I’m already doing), because sponsored reviews are basically pointless 😂 So I only review things that I want and my audience asks for, but most of the units end up being demos (I’m just a part time youtuber with a day job and there’s no way I could afford all this equipment for now 😂). On my duo, I did the disclosure on camera but I noticed it’s common not to have that from other creators, so this one I put it in the description. Thanks for your feedback while I’m working out the best fit ☺️
It comes in at a higher price point but the p64 is IMO probably the nicest 64mm single doser. There’s also the df64 which has a lot of workflow compromises/quirks but is also a great price if you’re ok to manage it. As a conical grinder I wouldn’t compare the niche as an equivalent anyway ☺️
I am looking at this grinder specifically because I'm over my Niche. I don't think I have ever been impressed with it for the 2 years I've owned it. Zero retention is 100% not true. And, I never get two consistent shots in a row from my Linea Mini. One will be 15-20 seconds, the next 35 seconds. Sometimes the third will go back down to 20 seconds and sometimes up to 46 seconds. Drives me bonkers. Will this cure my issue? I regret ever selling me Ceado37. But I'm not going to spend another $1800 for one.
Is this better than the niche in your opinion? I’m trying to decide between the two. I have 650$ cash and I’m okay with spending more of this grinder is better.
Yeah so there are a couple things on that. If single dosing is a priority, the Niche has a superior workflow and retention. BUT if single dosing is not a priority, this grinder performs better across a wider variety of grind sizes, and really outperforms the Niche on filter. However you do need to purge a gram or two between size changes. The taste profile between the burrs is also a little different with the niche giving bigger body but the all ground giving more definition and clarity of flavour. Hope that helps! If you end up buying this grinder, you can use my code DADDYGOTCOFFEE at espressoparts.com for 10% off. Unfortunately I don’t have a code for niche though!
@@DaddyGotCoffee thank you! I don’t drink filter very often. I drink espresso every single day. So I’ve been looking at the Niche. But what caught my eye was how the allground can do everything. And I thought it would be a good grinder for a family. Like if your wife wanted filter. But I think the niche is better for me since I do only espresso. What’s your thoughts? I also only go through one bag at a time. But I do a service called bottomless so the bag is normally on a scale.
@@cameronmanochi7289 Bottomless is great! And yes, it won't work if all your coffee is in the hopper! The niche will do you well if espresso is your main thing and it CAN do filter, but other grinders do filter better. My recommendation is to go slightly coarser than indicated for filter on the niche!
@@DaddyGotCoffee I was thinking, if I was to hypothetically mod this grinder with a bellows instead of the hopper wouldn’t it be a single dose grinder?
@@cameronmanochi7289 yes, you would need to design and 3D print your own since there isn’t an official part released. Also, the part that the bellows would connect to moves with the burr up and down on a spring. If you hit it too hard, it could contact the burrs resulting in damage. But you could do this mod!
What about burr alignment ? Does it have auto alignment ? I have eureka and I had to align it when it was brand new. It took 1 hour to get right alignment
I haven’t looked at the parts diagram breakout. I don’t see any reason why this wouldn’t be possible but it would be a heavy modification and I would guess that the burrs are designed to produce the particle distribution curve at the 1400/1600 rpm run speed (50/60hz)
So i have Both at This time. The f4 evo and the allground. The f4 is much better. Everytime the same Gramms out. The allground has differences to 2gramms everytime i use it. This is sick
Interesting. Are you single dosing? When I’m using it with the hopper mine is incredibly consistent to 0.1g using the timed functions (provided no grind size adjustment from one shot to the next). But I don’t recommend this grinder for a single dosing workflow
Do you have plans to release a video for the F4 Evo? I am very interested in a comparison to the Allground and other grinders for espresso@@DaddyGotCoffee
It’s been a day and I need to stop watching your channel 😂 I found your channel looking into the Ascaso Duo then started looking at grinders. Similar to my thoughts on the Ascaso, aesthetics are important to me and this looks beautiful, and it apparently works excellent as well. Win-win! This is going to the top of my list… right under the Ascaso that is 😂 You’re right it is tall though! I wish they even simply made a smaller hopper that is shorter, I’d be ok with that and filling it more frequently
I’m not sure if I helped you or hurt your wallet 🤣 Real talk - I really do love this grinder. But, I’ve also never regretted waiting a little longer on a big purchase like this!
@@DaddyGotCoffee haha it’s all good! I’d rather buy what I really want now instead of settling then ending up with what I really want later on. Which would be even more expensive haha
$1100 ? This grinder is only £616 in the UK and that includes VAT and import duty. Why is it so much more in the USA? It should only be about $750 (plus delivery)
I’m guessing because of what changes were needed to convert from 220-240v to 120v, and also there are safety and food grade certifications that need to be made for sale in the US. You’ll also find higher prices on Lelit and other European equipment in the US. 🤷♂️
Justin you always come through with the reviews! The conversation with the spouses is always a topic 🤣. My Niche Zero is looking at my like 👀 "don't do it!"
I still have the niche on my bar for a reason! A hopper workflow does have its limitations! I can’t grind up a decaf or other one-off coffees very easily if my main bean is in the hopper!
@@jettav88 I've always wanted to give a p64 a run and have heard incredible things - different flavor profile than the niche and also at the top of your price bracket (and hard to get!). I've got a DF83 on the way as well and the early word I've heard from others is its really great. Haven't tested either though - yet!
@@DaddyGotCoffee yes that’s true but a lot of ppl contemplating getting this like me might also be considering the df64,niche zero or even a fellow ode with red sped burrs so while it does seem like a great all round grinder that one thing about the retention has been keeping me from truly considering it especially since I would only be single dosing.
@@DaddyGotCoffee Or The KitchenAid coffee bird grinder. 😂 I have one and it does everything from espresso to French press All for $200. It's truly a remarkable machine that's flying way under the radar.

The Sense Grind by weight version is 1350! The normal version (this one!) is still 1150:) for what it’s worth, I also reviewed the Sense version on here and much prefer it - fantastic grinder. Check out that vid too!
@@DaddyGotCoffeeI’ll check on that video. Thank you SO much. Glad I stumbled your channel.😊Btw. new subsciber here. Love your content!!🙌
Thank you for this useful review , it was complete
Thank you!!!
I’m thinking about getting the sense version, but many people say it has too much retention. Do you think retention is that bad.
Considering this vs Eureka Libra or Eureka w 65.
It is looks great i like it. Especially how easy to clean burr. Thank you for the review
To be fair I often do the same with single dosers as well
Hi!
Finally, I found this video..
I’m so glad! ☺️
Did I miss it or did you not mention one of the best perks and main reason I want to buy it: Grind by weight?
This version does not include GBW 😊 I reviewed the GBW “Sense” version more recently!

@@DaddyGotCoffee my bad! Thanks!
@@DaddyGotCoffee Thanks!
great review. it's on the list. sooooo many to choose from.
I know!! 😂 it’s a problem!
It does help a lot! Thank you@@DaddyGotCoffee
Daddy!
That’s a smart looking set up!
Haha! Thanks so much!
i quite curious if keep switching between filter and espresso, how hard is dailing in ? or since is step adjustment it just need to turn to the right click ?
As long as you purge it’s pretty straightforward if you go back to the same setting. If you forget to purge it can get a little frustrating because some of the grinds from the previous grind setting will make it into your shot
Hi My grinder is very new. I have problem with ground out. The beginning was fine only a few times.
I just can’t believe for the price point it’s stepped
Great review bud thank you!
My pleasure!
Would this hold a 54mm portafilter? Can’t decide between the niche zero and the all ground sense due out Jan 😬
@@bencarthy7633 yup should be no issue there!
Thanks man! Much helpful review
Thank you!
Seems like the grind distribution for espresso would produce low clarity shots? How do the shots compare to Niche for espresso?
Definitely higher clarity and less body than the niche, but probably not as far along as a purely unimodal profile. Personally, it’s quite nice and a nice balance
wouldm you also recomend it for ONLY espresso shots?
A question could also be, can I buy these burrs alone. If yes, will they fit in most 64mm grinders? How much did they cost? It could be an appealing alternative to expensive SSP burrs
I haven’t tried swapping them but they do look to fit. I had the same thought. They are available from Espressoparts.com
I’ll see if I can get my hands on one! I hadn’t heard of adjusting the calibration on those
This was very helpful. I think I want to buy The Niche. Does anyone know where I can buy a used one?
It’s probably best to check your local FB marketplace, Craigslist, Kijiji etc. but buy carefully!
How do you calibrate the output weight for coarser grinds like pourover? Do you just estimate based on time?
Yup that’s about it. I’m looking forward to the AllGround Sense for this reason
Awesome grinder this, would love to try one out !
It really is!
Which coffee machine are you using?
The filter drip coffee machine is the ratio 8! And the espresso machine is the Ascaso Baby T plus!
@Daddy Got Coffee thanks for the info
the comparion between Niche and Allgringer was not rather clear... Do they offer different texture, flavor of the espresso or not?
Yes, the niche will give more body, while the all ground will give less body but higher clarity of flavor
How does this grinder work for light roast espresso?
Are you able to compare the Allground and Niche Duo now that the Duo can manage both filter and espresso grinds?
Does this go coarse enough for cold brew or French press? Has anyone used it for this? Really looking for a do-all grinder.
Nice review!
Looks like a Baby T on your counter.. another review coming?
Hahahaha! You better believe it!
Is this grinder made in Italy?
If I am only in for Espresso would you recommend this over the Nice or say an Eureka Specialita?
Good question! I think in comparison to the Niche it really comes down to that single dosing question. Will you be changing beans mid-bag all the time or using different bags throughout the day or week? If so, definitely consider a niche or other single dosing grinder. In comparison to the Eureka, that comes more down to budget. The burrs in this are nicer (in my opinion), but you're also paying more for that and the flexibility to grind across a wider range very well. Hope that helps!
@@DaddyGotCoffee Now we need to do a Mignon XL vs All Ground espresso throwdown...
@@andrewbcaldwell I’d really love to do some eureka content 👀👀
@@DaddyGotCoffee Excellent answer, thanks a lot!
I think it is even better than niche zero.
is it real wood?
No, it’s like a wood vinyl wrap. The grain is textured on it though
Did you pay for the grinder or get it for free?
But on RUclips, I do NOT do ANY paid content (until a niche adjacent sponsor reaches out to me anyway who wants to sponsor videos I’m already doing), because sponsored reviews are basically pointless 😂
So I only review things that I want and my audience asks for, but most of the units end up being demos (I’m just a part time youtuber with a day job and there’s no way I could afford all this equipment for now 😂). On my duo, I did the disclosure on camera but I noticed it’s common not to have that from other creators, so this one I put it in the description.
Thanks for your feedback while I’m working out the best fit ☺️
What would be the single dose equivalent to this grinder (not including the Niche)?
It comes in at a higher price point but the p64 is IMO probably the nicest 64mm single doser. There’s also the df64 which has a lot of workflow compromises/quirks but is also a great price if you’re ok to manage it. As a conical grinder I wouldn’t compare the niche as an equivalent anyway ☺️
@@DaddyGotCoffee Wow, what a quick & detailed reply, thank you!
Did u mention the price?
I did! It’s 1100. Def not a budget grinder but not top tier either!
it costs in Italy for 500-550 usd the $1K is overkill
Is this real wood? Or photowrapped?
Not real
They come aligned from the factory and auto-align when you put the burr back in 🤩. A full alignment would only need to be done after a burr swap
@@DaddyGotCoffee Thank you ☺️
it's a pro grinder. No alignment needed
offtopic... the A roll is lighted impeccably. :)
Hahahaha! Thanks! I have (some) experience with video and I’m trying to make these better each time!
@@DaddyGotCoffee been following the IG for sometime now, the yt channel is a surprise for me 😊
@@RyanTanganco 🥰😉
Can you connect a dc motor variaable adjustable speed regulator?
@@DaddyGotCoffee no. Fiorenzato told me today that its normal until the coating is gone after 1-2kg. Then it should be better xD
Do you have plans to release a video for the F4 Evo? I am very interested in a comparison to the Allground and other grinders for espresso@@DaddyGotCoffee
It’s been a day and I need to stop watching your channel 😂
I found your channel looking into the Ascaso Duo then started looking at grinders.
Similar to my thoughts on the Ascaso, aesthetics are important to me and this looks beautiful, and it apparently works excellent as well. Win-win!
This is going to the top of my list… right under the Ascaso that is 😂
You’re right it is tall though!
@@JaimetheNomad I’m with you on this one!
@@DaddyGotCoffee Makes sense! Options 🥰
@@DaddyGotCoffee What is the best single dosing grinder in your opinion under $2K if I want to upgrade my Niche? Thanks!
@@jettav88 I've always wanted to give a p64 a run and have heard incredible things - different flavor profile than the niche and also at the top of your price bracket (and hard to get!). I've got a DF83 on the way as well and the early word I've heard from others is its really great. Haven't tested either though - yet!
@@DaddyGotCoffee Thank You!

That is a lot of retention though.
Compared to single dosing grinders, yes. Compared to other hopper grinders, not really?
@@DaddyGotCoffee yes that’s true but a lot of ppl contemplating getting this like me might also be considering the df64,niche zero or even a fellow ode with red sped burrs so while it does seem like a great all round grinder that one thing about the retention has been keeping me from truly considering it especially since I would only be single dosing.
the Fly agrees
Why would a business partner care about your coffee?
So, it’s not “all ground”, since it can’t do French press…..
If you want something that will go coarser and for less cost, check the opus.
@@DaddyGotCoffee
Or The KitchenAid coffee bird grinder. 😂 I have one and it does everything from espresso to French press All for $200. It's truly a remarkable machine that's flying way under the radar.
2g loss for espresso IS DEFINITELY NOT LOW RETENTION, it’s horrendously bad, what a shame
I don’t recommend it for single dosing for this reason. As part of a hopper workflow it comes out as exchange, not unheard of for hopper grinders. Still, prob my least favourite aspect of this grinder. I’ll be interested to see how the single dose model released this year performs
such a beautiful grinder too, shame
