I am aware of too many things at once. Nobody should be able to take so many things into account, to think so much, so hard. It’s heavy. It’s piling up like dirty dishes on somebody’s sloppy kitchen sink. I hate sloppy kitchen sinks. Everything slips and swollen globs of food get stuck under my fingernails. I would like to stop thinking forever. I don’t want to know gravity like the hands of men on subways. My skin moves over my shuffling bones and my expanding lungs hiss at me all the way from my chest cavity. I am spilling over because I am being crushed from all directions. I might burst.
I could run laps but all I want is to be free. From the hate and the love and the hunger. The joint pain at twenty five. The burning scratches of time and loss. The disorientation, even though nobody really knows which way is up. If humanity was always meant to self destruct, why should I watch?
