      Thanks so much for watching! It was a beautiful lake but as you saw we had some issues with the wind.
      We feel we have been pretty lucky with camps and Lake Wallace was our only bad experience.
      We really appreciate your support!

    Which locations are best for taking a walk in the forest area and maybe watch Brumbies or Deers?

    • @hapninemptynesters
      @hapninemptynesters  2 месяца назад

      Long plain hut or 3 mile dam are the best places to see Brumbies, dingoes and possibly (we didn’t see any) deer. However unfortunately NP are culling the Brumbies and there are less of them around now.

      Just heard that you book National Parks then decide if you want to stay there. I hope you cancel when you decide it's not suitable for you. National Parks need to charge people for not cancelling, covid changed how easy it used to be, please cancel if you decide not to stay somewhere even if it only cost you $6 to start with. Just a kind though.

      @gibbosroadtripadventures768 when we were there these spots were almost completely empty. I also don’t believe it’s like WA, I don’t think they have a max number of camp sites.

    • @hapninemptynesters
      @hapninemptynesters  Год назад

      @gibbosroadtripadventures768 I just checked and yes in NSW there is no max number of campers or site numbers so it doesn’t matter if you don’t stay the whole week. The $6 is just a booking fee. All these sites were free prior to covid.
      I know WA is different and people really need to cancel so others can get a site.

      We are NSW campers and places like Turon River or Coorongooba near Lithgow for example have to be booked via National Parks but we are finding that people can book and not turn up because it only costs them $6. For campers trying to book for example at Xmas, find that online the campsites are fully booked but in actual fact a lot end up vacant because people didn’t cancel when it no longer suited them. I personally think NP should charge a fee if people don’t cancel when they decide not to turn up. Camping was so much more casual & free for camping before covid.

    Any issues with leaving the van at a free camp during the day while exploring?

    • @hapninemptynesters
      @hapninemptynesters  10 месяцев назад +1

      We have had no issues at all. We have a Kovix lock for our van hitch but we have felt very safe. We have e-bikes on the front, again they are locked but never an issue.
