  • In this video we are going Off Grid in the Upper Murray River region. Our goal is to get as close to the source of the Murray River as we can with our caravan and then travel along the Murray River, free camping and going off grid as much as possible.
Come and join us as we show you how we prepare for this free and low-cost camping adventure, how we manage our water, our power needs and daily living in our 23’ caravan while off grid
Thanks again to Guy & Chrstine @thetrippinfoodies for your friendship and coffee 😉

Cross the Murray turn right is Dogmans Hut in Victoria & free were we stay.
Easy crossing with a hidden exit, plus the right vehicle & know how to use it, but not suitably for caravans.
Lithium is the way to go with DC DC lithium Charging & solar. (AGM you go down to 50% - Lithium down to 20% & half the weight).
We now do nearly all our cooking Off Grid in an Air Fryer including small Roast Dinners & Scones.😊

I have 200amps of lithium and 2000w inverter in my car. I have plugged my caravan into the car inverter to charge the caravan. Just have to make sure your caravan charger doesn't draw more than the inverter can supply. Loved this video, cheers, Joel.

I'm similar. I use my car as the powerbank. It has 400Ah Lithium and a 3000W inverter so when needed I run the 15A power cord from it to the caravan to run the charger or any 240V appliances we want to use in the caravan. The Lithium in the car is recharged at 50A when driving on day trips and the like and also have a couple of solar panels on the roof. The caravan is often parked in shade so I prefer not to have a huge 12V system in the van. Also we have an offroad camper as well as an offroad caravan so having the big batteries and inverter in the car makes sense

Enjoying the video, couple of corrections, the Geehi area which you briefly touched upon is very busy with caravans at Easter generally and is a vast area which extends three kms along the river. There is a daily charge of $16 a day for day use in the Kosciusko Nat park, plus the $6 you mentioned which is a booking fee for non specific campsites that don’t exist🤔. The source of the Murray is actually called Cowambat flat and is a large expansive plain which used to be able to be driven to, I have stood astride the Murray river at its source.
The Indi bridge is actually a torrent you were there at low flow, 😉

The background music in your videos is distracting.
It must only be added as a filler when you are NOT talking.
    1. You have identified your audience matching your age. Some of unlucky like us have listening abilities depleted.
    2. The added music over your talk masks your voice, which is already difficult to understand.
    3. I found myself struggling to make out the words and eventually gave up left your video around 4 minutes mark.
It's a shame because the travel is very interesting, but the added music along with audio quality is a major hurdle…
